I’m so happy I discovered this store! The owner is down to earth and very knowledgable. He is happy to help and answered all my questions! He does great work! I will definitely bring by guitars here for repairs or to purchase supplies. This is a small business that needs to be supported!!!

First time I took my guitar here for a setup I was charged a lot cheaper than the second time around. And the second time around my guitar was left with string buzz. Not happy at all. Will not be taking my guitars there for setup anymore.

I have my son taking piano lessons here and it has been good. The prices are competitive from other places I have looked into and Jim the co-owner will talk music with you while you wait if he doesn’t have a customer. The teacher seems to take his craft seriously and are genuinely interested in my son’s progress. The shop is small and in an older strip mall, and you wouldn’t see it if you blink while driving by, but don’t judge a book by its cover. It is a good place for hardware, repairs and lessons.

This store is awesome. Tons of cool gear and very helpful staff. Prices are competitive and I would rather support a local mom and pop store instead of a chain store.

This place is a good music store. But the true talent is the luthier. The owner has a lot talent and is fair on his prices.

I regret not knowing about this place sooner. Had I known I would’ve bought my guitar here because I think it’s good to support locally owned businesses in the community. It’s literally just down the street from where I live. Anyhow I needed a capo for my guitar because I was having difficulty singing and playing some songs in my range. I went to the Whittier Target but they have a very small music section and did not have guitar capos available. I didn’t want to have to wait and order it online so I Unilocaled music stores in my area and stumbled on this gem. I deducted one start from my rating only because they didn’t have a sign that said«OPEN» and from the outside it looks like the business closed down because of the grills they installed by the window and the door is covered with random stickers. You can park in front of the liquor store and go around the corner. The gentleman behind the counter(he might have been the owner) looked like the ultimate rocker. He taught me a new word, «luthier,» or someone who fixes/repairs string instruments. I asked him to recommend a practical capo for a beginner like me and I went home with the NS Capo Light in black. It’s a nice sleek design for only $ 12.50, a little less than what I see they sell it for online. I also needed a guitar stand and brought home one for only $ 18.50. I had asked him to kindly assemble it for him so I didn’t have to worry about it at home since I don’t have the patience to put things together. All in all fantastic service and I was in awe of the beautiful guitars lined up on the walls including one with a Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh design on it. Many of them were on sale too. I also learned that they teach music and have about 40 students right now learning different instruments. By the way they sell other instruments and musical gadgets besides guitars, but guitars seem to be their staple. I will definitely come back if I need anything else.

After my daughter chipped the nut on my old Ovation, I took it to be repaired at La Mirada Music. The gentleman was friendly and took care of the repair and lowered the action on the guitar, as I requested. Couldn’t ask for more…

This is the only place I will take my guitars to for Repair and for Advice. It doesn’t get better than La Mirada Music. The people there are so knowledgeable and helpful, and I’ve never felt any negative feelings or awkward pressure to buy things. Just a pure music store that has a large variety of parts and strings, everything you need for guitar and many more instruments you can find here. This place is really something special and the people here are the real deal. Repairs are inexpensive and honest. It’s quality work from people who take their time to do things the right way. I truly believe that Jim and the people at La Mirada Music do business for the love and respect for music, and that is extremely hard to find. I would give more stars if i could rate higher, I cannot say enough good things about La Mirada Music! Tell your friends!

Glad I found this music shop on Unilocal. Its hidden in an old school strip mall located next to a liquor store. Honestly, it looked like part of the liquor store, But when you enter you see all sorts of beautiful guitars, ukuleles, and mini drums on display. The 3 stars is for not needing to travel far away to get my guitar tuned. The fourth star was because Edward was really nice, informative, helpful and took his time to tune my guitar. I don’t think he charged me bc I bought a lesson book. The fifth star is because little local shops like this run by enthusiastic people are a gem.

Honest business. Had the pleasure of stopping by here few times and the old man that works here(probably the owner?) was super helpful everytime. I was a curious noob and had questions on items I didn’t intend on buying, yet he was still very helpful. Last time, I had the nut on my acoustic guitar replaced, and he did everything for just $ 15 with the perfect nut action I asked for. It’s a lot of work: removal of old nut, shaping of new one, gluing it on, filing nut slots, not to mention the cost of the nut itself. I’m sure I would’ve had to pay much more elsewhere. And you won’t encounter the talking down to or aggressive sales tactics like the other places. I’m a fan!
