Being that I’m a fellow merchant in La Mesa, I want to support local merchants. Sometimes I can’t get out of my studio. Today I called and ordered takeout calamari with bread. David, the owner insisted on delivering it. When he arrived, he refused a tip, and even comp-ed me a tiramisu. Everything was delicious, as usual. This restaurant has to be the best in La Mesa. Thank you.

We had a great meal late Monday night, it was during the heatwave and a lot of the restaurants were unexpectedly crowded and under staffed. We walked in at a little past 8 and were surprised how few people were there. I did notice they didn’t have air conditioning but the place was cool and comfortable anyway. We had two terrific meals and some very enjoyable wine by the glass. The waiter was very knowledgeable about both the food and wine. We will definitely go back!

Came back. David couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating to us(Groupon customers). We got a taste of a few dishes. All were great especially the eggplant parm. Probably the best eggplant parm that I’ve had in the San Diego area. The gnocci was also excellent. I was honestly between 3 to 4 stars but I’m rounding it to 4. The negs– — I found 3 white hairs in my eggplant parm =/Not sure if the chef or cooks cover their hair. — The price difference between entrees at lunch vs dinner is very high. At least with lunch you get a little salad with it. Dinner, you get the same entrée but no salad. Wish I came in for lunch instead. I was really surprised when I saw what we had to pay after Groupon. –the salmon pasta dish wasn’t good. very little salmon and the pasta was a bit bland. I would return but only for lunch.

Food was delish! From the bread, the app, to desserts! Husband said the calamari was THE best calamari he has ever had, and couldn’t agree more! Dined with my husband and my 5 year old. Service was outstanding. Both servers were very attentive and very sweet. I’d give 10 stars if I could! Thank you!

Got dinner from here Sunday night. I called in the order for my boyfriend to go pick up. Insalata tiramisu, ravioli di ricotta e spinaci, capellini alla checca, & a special request for a cheesy garlic bread. We had a few things we wanted to add to our meals(meat, mushrooms, etc) the man who took my order never once sounded annoyed or rude towards me which was shocking considering I am picky & know I can be a pain to deal with. When my boyfriend got home we opened our pastas, they looked & tasted great. Our salad on the other hand only had the lettuce & goat cheese ball. I know it’s just a salad but for the price we paid for everything it was a bit disappointing. My boyfriend was bummed being how much he usually loves their food. He called in & whoever he spoke to was very kind & said they would make us more salads. We were going to go back but were too tired to go back for the salad. A little while later my boyfriend goes outside & comes back with 2 delicious looking salads & bread. They personally drove the salads to us! Not only that but gave us an extra one + the bread. The fact that they went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our meals after we were willing to just settle for what we got speaks volumes. Most places would just cut their losses & carry on. This place has great food & employees & they really made us feel well taken care of when it was all said & done.

I used to be a regular and had not been there in a long time as I do not live close by any more. I was there last night for dinner with a friend, and was excited to be back and also a little anxious about whether or not it was still as good as I remembered it. I was quickly reassured: I was able to try different wines by the glass as they kindly offer the ½ glass option for a very reasonable price. Our server Miguel, was wonderful. Present but not overbearing, he understood that my friend and I were there for a leisurely dinner, and was attentive and accommodating. I ordered my old time favorite: the lasagna and it was just great. Just the way I like it, jut the way I remembered it. Just delicious. Salads, desserts,(the tiramisu is very legit here, and the chocolate cake was also quite a delicious surprise), cappucinos, all was quite enjoyable. Nice friendly atmosphere, good food, priced right, good service. And the overwhelming desire to go back soon and try more dishes. A very happy experience.

Dined here on a nice sunday night, calm and quiet atmosphere. Everything was alot better than last time. The reason soley being thanks to our server katia and busser Alex. What a difference in expierence a server can make. We certainly will be comeing back as frequent as possible as both the food and service was good.

Pretty darn good! Nice atmosphere, clean, intimate, and fast service. All the servers I came in contact with here were very nice and the food came out quickly, nice and hot! Decent portions, too. It’s a bit fancier than an average Italian spot you’re used to going to, but that’s because it’s a trattoria style place, so duh. I would say five stars, but I found the pomodoro sauce on my pasta and chicken parm to be a little acidic and lacking some good flavor HOWEVER everything else was fantastic. Especially their namesake, the tiramisu, so well done! PS — someone brought their bratty kid in here(as well as a crying baby) who was running around all over the place and tugged on our waiter’s shirt while we were ordering demanding to know where his chocolate milk was. Please leave the kids at home, for relaxed establishments like this, or teach them manners.

Update: The service was really good as usual. Today we had the lasagna, bruschetta and burratta. All three dishes were delicious and so satisfying. I was so full that I couldn’t even have the tiramisu which is the best. Definitely will return and recommend this restaurant.

Food is okay, dessert, wine, and appetizers are great. I had some linguinie, wine, N crème brule. my daughter had spaghetti, tiramisu. Then for appetizer we had some bruchetta… alright the service is okay, my server keep forgetting the fork. Lol he gave us food but no fork… Lol And, while he was putting the cheese on our order, he was too fast so he made a big mess right in front of me without cleaning it up n saying sorry(got some cheese on my hair N clothes) I didn’t get upset. I just let it go. but still this kind of service need some improvement .and, the bathroom need renovation… anyways, eventho I didn’t get the service I want I still gave him 18% tip cuz thought about its ok sincr I got a discount from groupon…

First time coming here. Brought my wife, son, my mom and mother in law. The waitress was very friendly, very professional and will make you laugh! He was checking in on us and everyone else as well. Great attention to detail. Food was great, salmon was so tender and tasted great(stole some from mom). Dessert was good(cheese cake). The Manager or owner was very friendly and also checked on all customers. My son got a ballon to take home, we came on Mother’s Day. I would definitely tell you to give it a try, it’s a great place with the best wine. bon appetit

«Not the way I remembered it, but it was OK « I took my daughter, her husband, and my wife to Trattoria Tiramisu(And that’s the way it is listed on their receipt) not Tiramisu Trattoria. Anyway. Katia our server was nice and did a good job serving our table. We started off the night with an appetizer plate of Bruschetta Pomodoro and Mozzarella Caprese which was good. My daughter and her husband had the Lentil soup with Ravioli RIcotta spinaci, which was spinach ravioli with tomato cream sauce, and they said it was very good, My wife had the Vitello Piccata, which was a veal scallopini sauteed with white wine lemon capers sauce. My wife said it was delicious ! I had the Pepperoni, Salami, and Onion pizza with mozzarella cheese. The pizza was crispy and tasty. I came to this restaurant many years ago and liked the quaint, rustic decorations they had at that time. Now the restaurant is more plain, with just a few pictures on the walls. It could use a make over to make the restaurant feel like you are in an Italian atmosphere. The regular and Strawberry Tiramisu and panna cotta dessert was very good to end the meal with.

Came for the tiramisu… Stayed for the tiramisu. It was probably the best tiramisu I’ve had in my life, and it’s my go-to dessert at any restaurant. It was soft, melts in your mouth, just amazing. They also have a strawberry tiramisu but I’m glad I went with the classic. They have a great dessert selection overall, including a few flavors of gelato, which is my other weakness. The service was great, even though we just ordered dessert it didn’t feel like they were trying to rush us out. Great environment, friendly service, and the tiramisu is second to none. This isn’t in my neck of the woods, but I would come back without a doubt.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while driving around because the Italian place we had actually wanted to go to was closed! We lucked out on a parking spot right outside, and walked in to be the only ones in the entire place on a Saturday afternoon. The waiter brought us out some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and for some appetizers to start we ordered the bruschetta and a caprese salad. The bruschetta was really, really good and the mozzarella in the caprese was very fresh. Michael got the lasagna bolognese to eat while I ordered the linguine frutti di mare. We both really enjoyed our dishes, and the portions were generous. We didn’t even get any dessert because we were both full afterwards. Our waiter was very attentive, but I don’t know if that is typical since we were literally the only ones in the restaurant. I would for sure come back again if I’m in the mood for some Italian.

I got seated right away. but I think they forgot about me, as nobody came to bring me a menu. Maybe it was because I was the only single person at the restaurant? Anyhow, I had the rigatoni pollo. Good came quick! Very creamy and tasty. The chicken was very tender and the sun dried tomatoes added more flavor. The chocolate mousse cake was great. Light and full of flavor.

Checked this place out because I’m in La Mesa and wanted Italian food that wasn’t in the shopping center at Lake Murray and Baltimore(that place gets great reviews but I never cared for it). We were here at around 6:30 on a Saturday night. Parking is free after 6PM at the meters. I agree that the place is loud since it is only 1 room and small. Ambiance was fine. Casual but not too casual. Actually had a cozy feeling inside. Had the set menu for $ 22. It included a small salad, entrée, and a slice of tiramisu. The salad was a standard salad. The eggplant parm was served with spaghetti and was excellent. Only thing was the portion of the eggplant parm was really small and I was very hungry. Had the strawberry tiramisu and it was good. Tasted more like strawberry shortcake though. I thought it would have been nice if they included a glass of wine with the fixed menu since the eggplant parm was really small. I mean seriously it was smaller than the tiramisu. Service was fine. I would give this place another try. Oh yeah when you check in on Unilocal we got free bruschetta. I loved it because the bread was really soft. I know it’s not traditionally supposed to be, but I actually prefer it that way.

molto bene! We came on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t busy. I would say Tiramisu Trattoria is a hidden gem in La Mesa Village! The service is friendly and I always felt like we were being checked on to make sure everything was ok! The fresh bread & oil is my favorite starter! I could eat it all day.everyday. The calamari is perfectly breaded and doesn’t have that traditional greasy texture that most calamari has! The Trattoria salad(with the goat cheese ball) is probably gods gift to man kind. I got the Capellini Checca and the boyfriend got the linguine vongole. No complainants here! Both tasted fresh, flavorful and came out quick! I just had my leftover for lunch. Still taste just as great! The desert menu is delicious as well! I recommend the crème Brule or the cannoli!

Got a Groupon for this place. Went on 01/08/2016.inside does not have too much ambiance but I was exceptionally impressed with the service. Fast, efficient, attentive without being bothersome, friendly. We stayed 3 ½ hours! Had three apps, 2 glasses of wine each and dessert. I forgot to take pictures except for the ½ eaten dessert. chociolatta torte. I typically don’t order calmari but decided to try it. So glad I did!!! It was the best I ever had in taste, texture. not too heavy on the breading but light and not greasy. I’d go back just for that. We also had an eggplant that was delish and the beef carpaccio with argula, parmesan cheese and dressed with olive oil. Again everything was tastey and ample to share between 2 people. We had room for dessert which was light but rich for those who are chocolate lovers. Will definately come again. the only thing missing is the ambiance. needs a Restaurant makover but what they don’t have, they make up for in food and service. Marko was great!

The food was okay. The ambiance was cozy and quite nice. The Caesar was good, but if you don’t like the taste of anchovy, it is noticeable. Had the linguine vongole and the clams were extremely chewy and lacked flavor overall. The tiramisu was not the best I’ve had. I really wanted to like it. It had such good reviews

Tried this place off and on for several years. Ok(bruschetta was good) but a bit pricey. I asked for a simple pasta with chicken and all I tasted was burnt garlic. Most disappointed with the tiramisu. Considering this is the name of your restaurant you would think it would be freshly made. We took it to go and when we got home I was shocked. It was the saddest looking tiramisu I’ve ever seen. We paid extra for their strawberries and they put 2(?) of the saddest(frozen?) strawberries in top. They had an unappetizing pale pink hue color that made the whole thing frustrating and wishing I saved my $ 60. For two adult dinners /one child — no alcohol and 1(sad) dessert, this was disappointing.

Great cozy italian ambiance! Delicious food! And outstandig service! Through the years i’ve tried many of their dishes. Literally every single one of them was amazing. But tonight i tried one of the Specials — Pesto Gnocchi and it was to die for. Definetly the freshest and the best one I’ve ever ate. 100% recommend it.

Oh boy, disappointing. Our server was great, but the food lacked in flavor but matched the interior décor. Considering downtown la mesa just dumped a ton of money into their renovations, this restaurant doesn’t seem to have any Spurs under its belt to keep up.

The food here is unique, featuring an ever changing menu of chiefs specials as well as hand crafted Italian staples. It’s got a full bar and personal service. Best Italian in LA Mesa hands down. I take my three year old here but also great for dates, it’s usually quiet and somewhat romantic.

Took my Madre on a date and the salmon white wine pasta was decadent, we also had butternut raviolis & subbed the cream sauce for a diced tomato sauce. The red wine had a much better selection than I expected and Juan the server had useful recommendations. The art was cool and it was a very positive experience– especially for the cost. $

New to the area so we ventured out to Tiramisu Trattoria. We were the last to be seated for the night. They were accommodating with seating us because they planned to close early at 9:30pm instead of 10pm. Service was really good. I forgot our servers name. :( Check in for a free slice of Tiramisu. Delicious! Food: Lasagna Bolognese Fettuccine Bolognese Both dishes were delicious but it seemed that the lasagna lacked a little salt or something. Tupac did enjoy his Bolognese. I definitely need to return to try other dishes and update my review.

Food was greasy and flavorless. I had the snapper which was the nightly special. The garnish was soggy russet potatoes and canned artichokes. It looked bland and tasted less. Olive garden would’ve had more edible food at a lower price. Atmosphere and décor is 2 star as well.

I love this restaurant because the food is fantastic! No it’s not a hipster joint, no it’s not urban and decorated in reclaimed wood(and I love reclaimed wood) it’s just great Italian good done the proper way. Fantastic cream sauces, full flavor and an excellent wine selection! The prices are reasonable, the happy hour is even better and servers are always very pleasant and enjoyable to chat with. Come in for the flavorful dishes you won’t be disappointed! I tried the penne salmon w cream sauce and I seriously could have licked my plate clean! My friend tried the butternut squash ravioli and eat every last bite she barely wanted to give up a bite for me to try her dish. Big bonus to Unilocal reviewers when you check in online you receive a voucher for a free slice of tiramisu! Now how nice is that? Might I add the dessert list looks fantastic as well as the coffee drinks available too. A great place to try, it’s worth the trip out to Ka Mesa to experience some great Italian food!

1 star for food. Everything else absolutely pathetic. Service — 0 stars, the attitude of owner/manager: Negative Infinity. It is such an akward restaurant, we walked up to the door to have us seated and nobody even bothered to ask us for a good 5 – 10 min and they were just walking around. It was only after we called one person that they said okay sit right next to front door(when the restaurant was 70% empty on a Saturday night) or sit right at the back next to the kitchen. We decided to sit near the kitchen. Below average décor, apart from 4 paintings on wall there is nothing italian about this place. When we were waiting for the server, I saw the owner was sitting all alone on a table right in middle of all the tables with 5 wine bottles and drinking. I have never seen customer service get this bad. Horrible! The owner/manager for some reason decided to serve us our cocktails and he spilled it on our table 3 times and not one time did he bother to even apologize. Can you believe it that is the owner of this place??? And, then they were super slow in taking the order(we had to call our server several times to get their attention) but they were extremely happy to take away the dishes and clear the table even when restaurant was 90% empty at this point and my friend was in middle of her meal. Now, the worst part. To top it all, spilled drinks, drinks not prepared well(did not even taste like what I ordered), average food and extremely poor service. The owner had the guts to come up to us to get more tip. I mean what the f*ck? NEVERGOINGAGAIN!
