The Massage Bungalow by Aja

The incidentals: 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk from my house; booking through schedulicity (a HUGE plus for me, I hate having to call or email to schedule!); very flexible hours; moderate cost.
The really important part: Aja is a damn good masseuse. I’ve been twice, the first time for pampering relaxation, this last time for stress. I mentioned I’d been grinding my teeth throughout the previous week, causing headaches, and she focused on the head/​neck/​jaw/​face/​shoulder areas (did everything else too, but focused on that) and — as everyone else has said — I left feeling wonderful.

I had a massage from Aja recently and it was fantastic!!! Her massage is the perfect blend of relaxation and healing. I felt completely refreshed afterwards. She hit every one of my «problem areas» without me even telling her where they were. Some I didn’t even know were bothering me until she relieved them! Her massage was also wonderful in clearing up some emotional tension that I have been holding. I felt lighter and happier when she was done. I had also never experienced hot stones before my massage with Aja, and the way she blended the massage with both the stones and her hands made it even more enjoyable. I will be recommending her to all of my friends and loved ones and I will definitely be scheduling a massage with her again soon. Thank you, Aja!

Aja just provided the best massage I have ever had in my life. At only 3 months pregnant i am not feeling the best. A bad migraine, Lots of knots and tightness melted with her magical hands! I have never been touched on my head like that before. She has wonderful energy! And you can tell she loves her practice. You won’t believe how great you feel afterwards. I cannot wait to book another appointment with her!

Aja is AWESOME. I had my first session with Aja a couple of weeks ago, a 90-​minute hot stone massage, and it was just what I needed. Her room is very clean and inviting, not to mention super relaxing. She has just the right amount of pressure and is able to provide relief from both stress and pain. I am definitely going to keep coming back!

Aja is a great massage therapist. I got a full body 90 minute massage, highly recommend it, and was completely relaxed after my treatment. She was really good at finding my problem areas and tuning into my body, she went to town on my scalp and head which was super nice and is not always routine treatment. I will def keep coming for more.

Aja is an amazing massage therapist and healer. She will always find the places I need extra work that I didn’t even know about. Her intuition of the body and it’s need is the reason I return to her time and time again for body work. Aja is the most talented massage therapist there is. She has so much experience and custom tailors your massage to fit your needs. Not only does she have a vast array of techniques she uses she also has amazing intuition to what your body needs. She is so comfortable to be around, her nurturing presence always puts me at ease and helps me relax fully in my massages.

Aja Encinas is the owner of The Massage Bungalow. It’s a nice little place in La Mesa, quiet, clean, and most of all it always smells good. She customizes her massage according to client’s needs, always asking areas that need work on and checking pressure from time to time. I met her when I was pregnant and in darn need of a prenatal massage. Prenatal massages are ridiculously expensive but hers is more than reasonable. $ 45 per hr for first time clients and $ 65 thereafter. I got more than what I paid for and matter of fact I end up purchasing a package throughout my whole pregnancy. I am now a full time mom and still come to her for massage when I need some me time. She also does other massages like swedish, deep tissue and hot stone. She’s a pro. Better than most massages I got from expensive spas.
