Not bad donuts. They serve breakfast as well. I ordered a croissant. Sausage, egg, and cheese, and it barely had sausage or egg on it. There was one woman who could have been nicer or just had genuine customer service.

Gotta love that ‘B’rating from the health department… yikes. This place has always seemed a little scruffy, and it looks like my suspicions were right.

My family loves doughnuts, especially my kids. We are use to Dunkin Donuts since it’s everywhere in New York City. We are still adapting to the west coast but we like it so far out here. I like how this place it’s close to us and very convenient since my daughter absolutely needs her donut fixes! They make them fresh and have a lot to choose from. I am especially happy they have what my kids like which is pink frosted sprinkles and munchkins. I’ve had the maple bar which is sweet and yummy. I like how the donuts have a crunch and soft taste, does that even make sense?! Hahaha oh well, these donuts are really good and satisfying. I also had their ham and cheese croissants which is also my favorite. Their ice coffee is delicious too, I don’t have to add sugar or milk since they do it for me already.

Donuts are good I had a mother and daughter help me last time and they were sweet. They recommended a few donuts for me to try. Only thing I’m not a fan of is how the donuts are out in the open. To me that doesn’t seem clean, for example it takes one fly to contaminate basically all the donuts. And judging by the cleanliness I’m not a fan. I may sound like a prissy little girl but let’s be real here it’s not the cleanest and you’re eating from it. I wish this place would get a well needed remodel it seems like it hasn’t been flipped in 30 years.

I don’t know what I was thinking the first time I came here but now I love it. They are always fully supplied and the bread is really thick. It doesn’t get flimsy in my hand and the frosting is hard and thick. The filling is natural tasting. I always get a fruit filling donut and the Boston cream, it doesn’t taste artificial and fake.

The two ladies working were very polite. After eating a brown-sugar-crusted cruller(fantastic) they chatted with me and gave me a free sample after sharing a few jokes. Made my day!

Sorry — I don’t get it… too sugary(for me that’s an anomaly!) The glaze has grains grits of sugar still in it… not smooth. Donut has no flavor. We asked for water and they gave us warm water… yuck… so weird! People were just coming in and out like regulars… skip it — there are a ton of donut shops out there…

As a donut connoisseur, I have searched the world over for the best donut. This place has perfected the prototypical donut. Simple, yet exquisite. You won’t find those bougiouse extravagant donuts here. You’ll find blue collar donuts with perfect fluff and flavor.

The donuts here are always fresh. They have croissants too, and iced coffee etc. Usually while I’m buying donuts in the morning, there are trays of fresh donuts being brought out right as I’m buying and that’s a great feeling. They do have a credit card minimum($ 3 I think) but its much lower than the CC minimum at other donut shops in the area. It seems like a family run business, and it’s clear that the family and employees truly care about whether or not you’re happy with the service or food. There’s a lot of pride taken in the donuts I think.

These are our favorite! Sweet family kindly serves you each time. Polite, smiling faces. Affordable prices. And best yet the donuts are DELISH! The oil they use doesn’t over saturate the donuts so to coat your mouth with that greasy taste that even coffee won’t cut. Taste n see! ENJOY!

A few times per year we indulge in the guiltiest of pleasures by picking up a dozen donuts. Sunny has a line out the door on Sat and Sun mornings, but it moves quickly! These donut stops usually occur after a long night of eating, games, drinks, and dancing all night at our home with my 4 kids, their friends and our grown up friends… like it happened this past Sunday morning!!! Sunny’s donuts are fresh, sometime still warm, and of many varieties. Service is fast and friendly. Since it is post-party, we wear our pajamas and the owners never complain. When we get home, we cut them into halves of quarters so we can enjoy a larger variety each… yummy and sunny! Four stars instead of five because they don’t make a cherry frosted cake donut… the mother of all donuts.

We stopped by on Friday night. My little dude was craving some donuts so I Unilocaled up a nearby shop and we cruised over. The lady that was working was really nice to him, which I always appreciate. They were out of about ¾ of everything they had listed in the baskets behind the counter. The woman in front of us asked for something that wasn’t out there and was told that they only had what was out, that what was in the baskets was all there was. I imagine she was inquiring because when we both walked in she had been in the back decorating these fully loaded carts of fresh donuts so that must be why she was so confused. My son settled on a dozen donuts. I have no idea where he gets this ferocious appetite from :-). He began ordering two of this and two of that, and I tried to hold back my laughter. I did manage to order one jelly donut for myself to try out of curiosity. This ended up being a mistake on my part. Remember those old Wendy’s ads in the 80’s? The old lady with the memorable tag line«where’s the beef?» I ate almost the entire donut wondering«where’s the jelly?» Then when I found it I just about gagged. Careful what you wish for is how I’d best describe the taste of that red stuff. This shop is located on Spring Street across the street from the new 7 – 11. It’s very close to the 94 west entrance. They do have a good amount of parking and they’re open 24 hours.

Sunny Donuts is the best donuts joint in San Diego. If you are a judging a joint by their product than I stand by my words of this being the best Donuts in SD. The donuts are freaking fresh ALLTHETIME! I work in the area and I will come before work and they are fresh, sometimes warm and then I will come by after work and they are still fresh. The donuts are so soft that if you apply a little bit of pressure it will squish these donuts. It is open 24 hours and I have never been here at night but I betcha they are fresh! The ladies I see are always friendly and recommend different donuts all the time! My favorite is plain glazed! Give em a try if you are in the area!

This place is terrible. The donuts are okay, but the lady who runs the late night shift is ridiculously unfriendly. Look, I get it, you don’t like working the graveyard shift. You’re probably bored out of your mind… You might of even broken a sweat because I asked you to get up to help me pick out donuts and I interrupted your precious cell phone game… But come on lady! I tipped you for bad service and all you could do is grunt a sorry excuse for«thanks???». You might want to try smiling if you want more than just my tip in the jar. Unfortunately that may be the first and last tip you ever get because I’m never coming back — at least not when you’re working. Contrary to popular belief, I RARELY buy donuts. And if I ever do, it’s Mary’s in Santee. Boy did I ever get punished for trying to save gas and just get something«close by.»

Open 24 hours day but I have only been here on the weekends in the mornings. The donuts are always fresh when I am here. The donut selection is huge. I usually change my mind a few times before I decide which donuts I actually buy. Always two donuts and a medium coffee. Same with the wife. Two donuts and a medium coffee. This last time. I got two maple bars. I know you think they are just donuts but they are not. They are a sugary masterpieces that delight my senses and starts my day with a sugary orgasmic high. Just add coffee and I can conquer the world. Did I say I love a good donut in the morning? The word has got out though. Most weekend mornings the line is out the door but do not be dissuaded. The line moves fast. The people who work there are super warm and friendly. They seem to like what they do and it shows. Come here for your sugary orgasmic high.

Great local donut shop with lots of options at any time! They even throw in a couple more donuts if they think they were made really small. Walked out with a dozen for $ 8. Ahhh hellurrrrrr! Definitely coming more often.

I stop by this place one day and I was really craving donuts so I decided to get a Boston Cream Filled and a glazed donut. The Boston Cream Filled was alright it wasn’t the best I’ve had better but the glazed donut was the best thing I’ve ever had in my life especially when you drop it in the microwave for like 20 seconds. You could taste the butter flavoring in them and they were just so soft they were honestly better than Krispy Kreme and that’s hard to beat so if you want a donut and you want the best glazed donut go to this place and get one

One of three Sunny Donuts that I know of, including national city and kearny mesa. The La Mesa location is certainly the most meager. Open 24 hours and cash only, the donuts are average to below average depending on the freshness-excluding their vanilla crème. A powdered donut with vanilla crème piped inside, its one of my favorite morning pastries from time to time. They also have a chocolate version that does not hint of any real cacao and is dismissible. Call in an order as they are not always stocked up through the day, and you can guarantee they are fluffy and fresh. I am not much of a donut aficionado but I find these to be just fair. Have a sunny day.
