Surf and turf burrito is really good, lots of flavor and meat, fries and shrimp. Ceviche is good, had better but pretty good for the money. Adobada was a bit off, missing something. Would definitely come back to try other menu options.

Fresh seafood with very good and balanced flavors. You can tell the guys there are very passionate about their food and menu. When you ask Richard(the owner) for suggestions, you can see his eyes light up as he explains the menu. This place is a local gem. Keep it up guys! We’ll be coming back again and again!

I read what I wrote and reflected in deep food coma-induced serendipitous meditation. It wasn’t fair for me to give them only 3 stars, they deserved 4 ½ stars. At the time, I was conflicted, as I stated in my review, that’s why I was stingy in my review, I apologize to my fans on Unilocal.I am a fan of Los Pinos taco shop as well as this Los Pinos Seafood, I come here all the time. I’d be heart-broken if they had to close the door. This is the best seafood taco stand in East San Diego. If you haven’t tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing. It should be on anyone’s bucket list.

Yet again! I totally ordered the same thing again and I am so pleased! Next time I might get brave and try the mango habanero but for now I am very happy with my tequila lime shrimp burrito! The guy that helped me was so kind, as always and gave me some ideas to consider for next time.

I was really surprised to learn that Los Pinos Seafood had opened at this location, a small strip mall near the corner of Baltimore and Lake Murray not known for its good restaurants. In fact you’d be hard pressed to find a good Mexican Restaurant within several miles of this place. First of all, the place is small and somewhat difficult to find as it only has a smallish rather busy sign. It is located next to a liquor store and a Japanese Restaurant. There are only two tables located inside and maybe six seats along a window and two more tables for two outside. There was loud reggae music playing inside so we went for one of the outside tables. It was just after noon on a Saturday and we were the only ones dining in and they had two to go orders while were eating. Décor and ambiance are forgettable, but we did not come for that. We came for the Tacos. We ordered a Shrimp House Taco with Bacon and one without the bacon, a Spicy Grilled Yellowtail Taco, a Beer Battered Fish Taco, a side of beans and a large Mexican Coke which came to $ 20.65. We were given a basket of fresh corn chips and salsa while we waited. As for the taste, quality and freshness, these were all very good, and far removed from what you get at a «normal» taco shop. These are tacos of the next generations with innovative ingredients and taste. The young guys that work here are trying new things and it works. I wish they would put on the menu what is in each taco. For a first visit we were impressed by the food. The service was prompt and friendly and we told the guys we would be back for more. I think it’s only fair to try more offerings from their menu, and we will. For now I will give them five stars for being friendly, outgoing and making great tacos! To be continued…

The food is great, and the people that work there are friendly. Only problem is that no one working the cash register can get it right the first time. I’ve been here four times now, and ¾ times I was charged wrong. The first time I was overcharged and had to ask them to correct it(at which point the cashier said that he was just about to correct it before I asked), the second time I was undercharged and they told me they needed more money out of me afterward. Third time, overcharged again. The last, and most recent time, I ordered a burrito and asked for extra shrimp. They cut all their burritos in half when you eat it in the restaurant, and while the first half was great and loaded up like an «extra» shrimp burrito should be, the second half had 3 little pieces of shrimp and the rest was cabbage. I want to give you guys 5 stars because the food is so good, but get it together. It doesn’t look good when you have to either refund me money or come over to my table and ask for more.

I have tried about ten things on the menu and by far, NOTONE has disappointed my tasted buds! I’m a foodie so I can be picky when it comes to seafood and by far, this is the best joint I have found in san diego. Both the place and food have a modern twist. My favorite: MANGOHABANEROSHRIMPTACOS!!! It is to die for! I like to try new things but i haven’t gotten over this little bastard so i order one of these and usually try something new lol. Suggestions that I can vouch for: Mango habanero shrimp taco House shrimp taco House burrito Surf and turf burrito House fries(These things are pretty cool just to look at lol) Shrimp aguachile(The best aguachile i have ever had! get the green sauce one) ceviche tostadas tequila lime shrimp taco and for Dessert… NUTELLA Flautas!!!(Oh god! heaven on earth i swear) The best thing to compliment good food, in my opinion, is a beautiful lady and good restaurant service. These guys have awesome service! They look happy to see you and even remember me! They always welcome be back and always have great recommendations. The owner is a always working hard next to his crew and it looks like he has a passion for what he does and thats what makes this place a gold mine waiting to be discovered. MY final Tip(I’m sure the owner will tell you the same thing) Do not put any other sauce on your food! i kid you not i love my sauces but the food is preped to perfection! just a squeeze of lime and ATTACK!!! seriously! try it before you put sauce on it, that taco will be gone before you have a chance to reach for the sauce. LOVETHISPLACE!

3.5 I ordered the house fries, it was awesome and I would of gave the place 5 stars but the fish on my house fries was old, tasted like cement, other then that the shrimp was perfect and the scallops were perfect too, awesome place they give you free chips and salsa.

Cool little place. Creating beautiful mariscos with their own special twist. Grabbed a tuna, swordfish and scallop tacos. Gave me some nice chips and salsa while I waited. All the tacos were very good. They’re a little slow but it’s worth the wait. Great spot for the area. This is the only place I’m eating when I’m back in this area again. I’ll give them 5 stars when they get beer, bring you napkins with your meal and have hot sauce on every table.

Okay, so what’s hotter than a couple of guys throwing down in the kitchen? A couple of guys serving up seafood as fresh and delicious as this was! Today was my first time trying Los Pinos; I was craving some fresh seafood and that was light and yummy, and honey I got it! I tried the mako fish taco which was super yummy, but if you can’t take the heat guy might want to try the other version because was spicy(just the way I like). The shark was super tender and the flavor are just so beautiful together. I also had the garlic octopus taco and garlic scalp taco. Not to mention the tacos are a very good size. Let me just say this will definitely be my go-to seafood place whenever I’m in La Mesa!

Exterior signage on this place did not stand out so I passed by the small strip mall this place was located in. Once there I liked what I saw in Mexican seafood selection. I decided upon the House Style Octopus Taco & a Spicy Tuna Tostada. Seafood in general has delicate flavors which can easily be overpowered by heavy handed sauces & in my opinion, often does not match well with hot red Mexican hot sauce/salsa. In looking over their ‘hot sauce’ choices I tried each one. They had a green sauce which I felt would compliment the seafood just right. I asked the guy at the counter what sauce he would recommend & with an initial hesitation he said he preferred the green sauce. I took the initial hesitation was a result of probably the majority of patrons outright used a red sauce without considering really how well it matched with seafood. The octopus taco was excellent. Plenty of octopus, not chewy, green sauce went well with the flavors. The tostada was only ‘alright’. I felt the tuna got lost in the other ingredients & was a little overcooked. I felt if it was more on the raw side, with a little more tuna in the tostada it could have been a lot better. Service was friendly & helpful. For now I give it 3.5 stars. I’ll need to come back & try some of the other dishes to see how this place pans out for me.

Fucking delicious! I will be back here way to many times for my eating to gym ratio currently. The food was unbelievable. The décor is eh and the establishment is small but who gives a shit it’s clean and the food is orgasmic. The shrimp mango taco was suprising with the bell peppers and the sweet spicy mix. Plus the house fries are dangerous. They taste way too good with the gouda and bacon with scallops and talapia and shrimp. Next time I am adding steak and avo to those bad boys and calling it an all day meal! They have real soda in the glass bottles as well as Jamacia and Horchata. tastes better than the places that have so much sugar and not enough spice.. beware the seating is limited and the barstools are not the best for older people or kids but that in no way would ever stop me from comming here! The guys who were working were great and the food; did I mention it’s an explosion on your taste buds in the best way imaginable!

Two words… HOUSEFRIES ! If you are only here to try one thing, I advise you get these fries. My nickname for them are«seafood fries ». It’s like carneasada fries, but better !! Made with scallops, shrimp, tilapia, and bacon with special seasoning and sauce. A must try for everyone ! We also tried the mango habanero shrimp taco which was very flavorful ! Just wish they kept the shrimp whole and not chopped up. The grilled tilapia taco was also on point ! One of the best fish tacos I’ve had . Ps: ask for the GHOSTPEPPERHOTSAUCE ! It is kept behind the counter cause it’s insanely spicy, but amazingly delicious !

I think I should of gotten the grilled fish tacos, but what do you do. It is what it is. I ordered the Camarones Mojo de Ajo or shrimp in garlic which came with a side of black beans and rice with some corn tortillas and a small salad for a reasonable price of $ 8.95. The serving of shrimp was a decent amount and they came flooded in garlic and butter. The shrimp were good, but a little under sized and a tad over cooked, which caused them not to be as succulent, as I would of liked. I wish they would of used freshly chopped garlic, rather than minced garlic from a jar, because the garlic flavor from the jar is quite intense. When you use as much as they did here, it overwhelmed the natural flavor of the shrimp. So, if you are going to continue using it, ease back on the amount being used and don’t over cook those shrimp. Shrimp of this size, should only be cooked for about a minute and no more than two. The black beans were cooked tender to the touch and had very good seasoned and flavor. Topping the beans with cheese will always be a great touch. The rice on the other hand, I was not a big fan of because it was quite mushy and wet from the tomato sauce. The rice did not have that loose consistency that a well prepared Mexican rice traditionally comes with. When I inquired about the rice, I was told that was the way they make it there. I do not get it, but as they say, to each his own. The salad that came on the side was good and came well dressed with a couple of different dressings. It was nice using the salad to make shrimp tacos with the corn tortillas and some of their tasty house sauce. It appears these guys are off to a good start. I look forward to returning and trying those grilled fish tacos. 3.5 stars.

Awesome and different from any other Mexican seafood I’ve had in San Diego, and I eat a lot of seafood. I Found this place on Unilocal.Their sign is kind of small at the moment, but that should change they said. We were greeted by a welcoming staff. They helped us figure out what we should order since it was our first time there. The place is clean, good music and friendly staff, all I ask for as far as customer service. Now on to the Food… In one word I would describe it: Bombtasic!!! Okay, I eat a lot of Mexican seafood in SD, restaurants and food trucks, but I like this one the best by far because of its unique flavor profiles. Today we tried the House Shrimp taco, Mango Habanero taco, octopus adobada ceviche, and the House Fries. The house taco and house fries were my personal favorite. Great spices and flavor profiles. The fries had various seafood, cheese, and BACON!!! And it was the good bacon, not the cheap kind of bacon u get from other joints. They have additional sauces on the side, but honestly, there is so much great flavor on the food already, it doesn’t need anything else. Low prices and great portions. They even had complimentary spa style cucumber and lemon water on the counter. Honestly, if you like seafood… You need to try this place. They really put a lot of effort into the menu and food and it shows. I’ll will probably go here from now on to satisfy my seafood cravings.

Topped off with some Cheese, their house sauce and some white sauce. You can’t go wrong in ordering this yummy goodness of food! Super friendly service too!

My mind’s tellin’ me no, but my body… my body, tellin’ me F*CKYES!!! Cue da R. Kelly cuz dis shit right here is straight FIRE!!! I want to try everything. I feel so ~bLeSsEd~ to live walking distance to the most A1 taco shop in ghetto ass La Mesa. The Lake Murray area definitely needed to step up their restaurant game. Trust me, Gus’s is White trash and garbage(see review), the Omlette Factory should burn down, and someone PLEASE drop a bomb on Lake Murray Café. I really hope this gem doesn’t close down! I had been eyeballing this gem since before they officially opened and I finally convinced daddy to take me. This required some bartering of sexual favors since he does not like trying new places, but I had a strong suspicion this place was going to meet the standards of his picky, princess pallet. I was right because Daddy liked it! I have a feeling I’m going to become a regular now. We ordered 4 things off the menu. We ordered 3 different tacos and 1 burrito. We were pleased with the flavors and the quality of the ingredients. The service was friendly and the guy at the register recommended the most magical burrito. Magical cuz we made dat shit disappear in less than 5 minutes. It’s easy to find parking here and the place seats probably 10 people. It’s super intimate in there and that’s OK because I’m tryin’ to get intimate with the nutella flautas, nomsayin? Pro tip: they don’t have public restrooms here, but if you go to the liquor store next door and buy a $ 2 pregnancy test and demand that it is urgent, they will let you use their toilet! Trust me, I know(see review).

Super friendly staff and really good food at this new la Mesa Mexican joint. The décor more modern than a normal taco shop. I tried the scallop taco, beer battered fish taco, habanero shrimp taco and the surf and turf burrito. Everything was super yummy. Location in a little strip mall next to liquor store and sushi joint. We will def be back
