Lather Hair Salon

Been going to my stylist Kendra Kaparic for 10 years. Wouldn’t go to anyone else, she is the best around. Very professional and great at what she does. Love this salon everyone there are all super nice!

This relatively new salon is nice but small. Parking can be a problem. Considering how many stylists, what the management currently provides seems inadequate for them to comfortably do their job. My stylist was Kendra Kaparic and I would not recommend her to anyone. There seems to be several salons that stylists move in and out of in the La Mesa village, some are very poor stylists. I have had two so far, learn from my experience! My advice is to choose one who has been in one salon for a stable length of time and has clients for references!

I have been searching for a new hairstylist for about a year and I FINALLY found the perfect one in Suzanne Cox. She is honestly everything I could have asked for in a stylist. She asked me in detail exactly what I wanted, gave me great ideas and new options for what I could do with my long, boring hair, and showed me exactly what she planned to do before doing it so there was no possibility of a miscommunication. She took her time with my hair, but was definitely efficient. She’s clearly an experienced and talented stylist. After a beautiful cut, she gave me one of the best blow outs I’ve gotten. If I won the lottery, I’d hire her to do my hair every morning! On top of all of that, she’s also sweet, easy going, and fun to talk to!
The salon itself is also very nice, and parking is easy.

Was time to update my highlights and once Kathleen Harris did an awesome job. She also takes time to explain things and I really appreciate the level of explanation she gives. The salon has a great selection of products, including a «stylist’s favorites» section which I will definitely be making a purchase or two from.

I just heard about a hairdresser named Debra (Deb) from a good friend of mine, and decided to try her out recently. I was told nothing but wonderful things, and that Deb was one of the best at doing blonde hairstyles, which is hard to get done correctly at many places.
Deb did a great job on my hair, and she has been doing hair for a long time, and knows her stuff. She is very kind and knowledgeable, and word around the block is, that girls travel near and far to come have Deb do their hair.
I will be back for sure, and do recommend her.
She just moved to this salon not too long ago, and it is very nice and in the cute La Mesa Village area.

I’m new to this salon, but not new to my stylist, Liz Josephson. I love that the salon is in downtown La Mesa, right in the heart of all the great shopping and restaurants La Mesa has to offer. As for my stylist, Liz has been doing my hair for at least 7 years now, and you couldn’t pay me to see someone else. Her ability to combine both what I want and her own techniques equals perfection on my head. Her desire to grow and learn about her industry adds to her aptitude to produce the perfect cut and color. She often tells me about new techniques shes learned as a means of offering variety and fun to my style. I trust her to have fun with my hair as she has proven time and again that she does what looks best on me considering the shape of my head, texture of my hair, and the way it grows and falls. I’m not the professional, I don’t see what professionals sees, that’s why I see a professional. That’s Liz. My color is always on point, the cut is always perfection, and I always leave with the softest, silkiest texture. I highly recommend Liz. She definitely treats me like family and she will treat you just as good!

Kathleen Harris has been doing both my husband’s and my hair for years and years. She keeps us both looking good. She is a true artist with hair color and cuts — it seems like she can read my mind! Kathleen has become like one of our family. We couldn’t do without her.
We also love coming to La Mesa – shopping & eating — my fave!

I went to Lather Hair Salon to see my stylist Liz Josephson and I have nothing but wonderful things to say not only about the salon, but about Liz and the other stylists as well. They are welcoming and friendly… and offer you free coffee! *bonus* I recently decided to chop my long hair and go for a medium A-​line look (see photo added). Liz did such an amazing job on the cut and color I receive compliments on a daily basis for my hair! Thank you Liz and Lather Hair Salon! I highly recommend this salon to those needing a new look or maintenance… ask for Liz if you want a new, fresh look!
