There is a reason I shop at Home Depot. I brought in an item that obviously didn’t work properly(most likely an issue with the blade), and the manager flat out said«that’s used so we can’t return it.» Uhhh, yes, I know it’s used, but shouldn’t you be taking back faulty product?! Home Depot would’ve taken it back with no question. Won’t be shopping here again, despite it being much closer for us.

Stopped in for the first time to pick a few things. Noticed the nice tiled floors upon entering. The lady at the checkout stand immediately says hello welcome and we instantly ask where items are located and she went out of her way to walk and show us. Then a nice gentleman named Daun came over to ask if I needed help in the painting section. He was so helpful picking out a couple items and genuinely just making conversation. His customer service skills were fabulous. He’s hilarious too. Also the guy at the checkout was great too. It’s so quiet there and the parking lot wasn’t crowded at all. It was Sunday so they close at 4pm right when we were leaving.

John at the counter is priceless. He now remembers me every time I come in and asks project is going. It’s great to build that type of relationship in such a big city area. Keep up the good work. But… please have longer store hours is impossible to get material after work during the week.

Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. My fiancé is a carpenter so we only go for hammers. But just last week I went in looking for rubber bands. The girl at the counter was nice and suggested to look in tools. When I got there I still couldn’t find any. I then saw a group of 4 employees standing in the middle of the store at the paint counter shootin’ the shit so I walk up with a smile on my face but then one turns to me says hi then continues to try to talk to his buddies. I then say do you know where I might find rubber bands? Then he turns back to me with this look like I pissed in his Cheerios and says uhhhh I don’t know CVS staples. Not here. I then said ok… And walked out. When I got home and asked my fiancé what he thinks he said yah they are always doing that and are always rude to me too so we won’t be back we come from jamul and that is the closest to us but I guess we’ll be going to Home Depot. Very disappointing

This is the third and final time. Every time I come here or call here the employees are rude. When a customer asks a question and they give either a dirty look or a sarcastic answer is unacceptable. Poor customer service skills. Home depot is farther away and I would rather go there.

I stopped in Dixieline to pick a few sprinkler risers and some succulents for my patio. Finding the risers were easy enough because they were in the aisle with all the pipes and such. They keep the plants outside in front of the store, so I left my risers at the front with the nice cashier. They had a descent selection of succulents, and I was happy they had some not to aggressive in the way of spines to choose from.( ) I settled for the Crazy Bunny Cactus because they looked very interesting for $ 5.46.( ) This was perfect because it was docile and medium size and it had a cool name! The lady at the register was cool and made fun of my bunny cactus which was good because that is the desired affect I was looking for. Crazy Bunny Cactus indeed…

I’ve been going to this place for at least 15 years and I really wonder why. It’s convenient I guess. But every time I go I swear I won’t again. The thing that really gets me is how they make you feel you are really intruding on whatever it is they are doing any time you ask for help. There are exceptions. A few times over the years I have encountered older women clerks who seem to actually want to help. But mostly it’s like, gee, I hate to interrupt, but where is the X? The cashiers do tend to be cute but honestly it’s not worth it. And if you are actually buying lumber or bags of salt, steel yourself for another level of rudeness. I’m just a guy; I don’t expect to be treated like royalty just because I want a hammer, but I think I’ve finally had enough. By way of comparison, you get much better service at Home Depot, which ain’t saying much. Jamul has an Ace hardware only a little out of my way. Maybe I’ll try them. If they have some management somewhere, they really need to have a heart to heart with employees.

I have to write this review based on a recent entry door quote I received. After providing dimensions and telling the person on the phone what I wanted, he did some ‘research’ to provide a quote. I was then quoted nearly $ 9,000 for an entry door!!! NOT including installation. Had I been requesting a gold-crusted door frame with intricate jewlery on the glass, I could have understood. However, I requested a fiberglass double door with a transom. It should have been $ 3K, MAX. To add insult to injury, he spoke to me like I was an idiot the entire time. After I exclaimed over the exorbotent cost of the quote, I was told that perhaps what I was looking for was beyond my means. Really? Every other quote I have received didn’t come close to half of what he quoted me. The fact that he was rude on top of that was just too much. Never again.

I’ve used Dixieline for years and am glad they are there. Case in point going to meet a new tenant for my rental house. Needed some keys so I popped into the store and asked if they made keys, a nice young attractive gal said I can help you and quickly took me to the back and made some keys for me in under five minutes(now thats service!). One thing I like about Dixieline is that they have what you need and are very helpful and its fast(unlike some bigger home improvement stores). I’m just glad that they are there because they are so fast convenient and the’ve always taken care of me.

I do not like Dixieland in general; overpriced, short hours, limited selection. What bugs me most that they like to hire ‘cute’ girls that know nothing about hardware, lumber or anything else. I used to play racquetball with the original owner’s son Lance; they sold the chain about 5 years ago and it is slipping ever since then. I only go there when I’m in a hurry and most of the time regret that decision later.

My favorite location in the chain of stores. Not overwhelming, friendly staff, in and out in minutes. That’s exactly what I need when I’m working on a project.
