My new favorite spot! The food is fresh and healthy. I love that you can walk in and have a fresh salad made just the way you like it with all fresh vegetables, meets, and cheeses. I will defiantly be coming back.

Came back for lunch the other day and had the Flagada on baguette. As anticipated, it was fantastic. Mozzarella, pesto, arugula, and a TON of prosciutto on a large French baguette. They toast the whole thing, so the baguette gets crunchy on the outside. The sandwich was fantastic. They are not shy with the pesto, so you get it in every bite. The mozzarella/prosciutto combo is another winner. The sandwich is very large, I only ate half. Excellent sandwich, highly recommended.

I am a sucker for free samples and this place was full of them. Ergo, the 5 stars. Just kidding. Of course, there was more to this place than just the samples: the customer service, the fresh food, the tagline«Don’t panic, it’s organic.» Love it all. My friend and I were having a hard time figuring out what to order and the owner kindly walked us through the menu. I ordered the Dagobert(turkey, gouda cheese, lettuce, tomatoes) sandwich on Whole Wheat and my friend got the BAAHHH(grilled vegetables, goat cheese, honey) grilled cheese sandwich on Multi-Grain. But it was the hardest choice because everything on the menu seemed so appealing… My friend and I sounded like kids as we were waiting for our food, «Next time I want to try this!» «For me, next time, I’m gonna try that!» But really, all jokes aside, next time, I really want to try the Apple Brie grilled cheese…

This was clearly a family run business and the PRIDE taken from the order to the service to the food was fantastic! The young girl who took our order described the entire menu to us with great detail and went over all our options. The man in the kitchen looked like the owner(or father?) and was also top notch. The coffee was good, the food was good and the service was good. They have wifi too and are in a great location. The menu contains healthier options but also some burgers, etc. We will be back!

Mmm yum! So fresh, organic and tasty. A great lunch spot. I’m addicted to their multigrain bread. It’s so hearty and seedy! I ordered the soup and half sandwich and that was MORE than enough food. The staffer girl was so nice and let me try all three soups before deciding. I’d like to go back for a $ 5 brekkie sammie and coffee deal some time!

I visited this store two times on the same day. During the first visit, the staff was super friendly. They had a dessert sample sitting on the top of the counter for customers to try(YUMMY). I had them make a fairly basic salad with basic ingredients — romaine with chicken, bacon, garbanzo, cheddar and hard boiled egg. I selected the honey mustard dressing(I didn’t think it was popular any more?) and it was fairly light in flavor. I was asked how I liked the salad dressed — light, medium or heavy. I selected medium and it was just right. I sat at the bar looking out the window while I ate my salad. It’s a small place, and they have music going in the background. I wouldn’t say it’s quiet, but I was still able to listen to an ebook and ignore the background noise. It’s a great place to watch unique and fun cars go by while you eat! I’d go back simply for the car watching, but for the salad too. I paid about 9.99, before tax, but all the ingredients were fresh and it was almost more than I could eat. There seemed to be some limited outdoor seating as well if you waned to be outside. I returned a few hours later to purchase the dessert I sampled earlier. There was a different person working the register, and I paid with little fan fare. I had purchased a chocolate tart with a caramel layer between the pastry shell and the chocolate. The caramel was so unique, light and delicious, it really made this dessert shine. It’s very rich, however, so it’s best to split this with at least one other person.

Food: from excellent to mediocre. Atmosphere: clean but small and a bit tight. Service: incredibly attentive and sincere. On a recent visit we had gazpacho, an arugula-based salad, a quiche with mixed baby greens side salad, and some chocolate-caramel tart. The gazpacho was very nice and by-the-book, would eat again. The salad was unbelievably fresh and the vegetables very nice; the allegedly marinated chicken was flavorless, and the dressing so plain that we ended up adding both pepper and salt(!) to make the salad taste right. Still, I would order that salad again. The quiche was, well, defective. The filling did not taste of eggs or dairy. The crust was literally leathery. Considering that quiche is one of their specialties, it was unacceptable and I’m surprised this is what they are serving. Would not order again. Worst of all, the baby greens were literally rotting away. If the portion had, say, 40 little leaves in it, at least 10 of them were visibly spoiled — not just a hint of brown on the edge, but areas of the leaf decomposing to mush. This was true across several species of greens, so not just a fluke. They served us a rotting salad. Unacceptable. Why do I rate them 4 stars when two different dishes were unacceptable? Because their flagship fresh-mixed salad was so good, and their attitude is so good, and because the soup and pastry were both quite nice. They just need a lot more quality control! And a bit of salt maybe.

Yumm! The salads here are very good, but the real deal is the stuff they make here. The dressings, the quiches, the desserts. I must say I was pleasantly surprised the first time I went in, I wasn’t expecting this quality in a «lunch» type place. Been back 3 or 4 times now, and I keep getting wowed.

Don’t miss that spot once in La Jolla looking for a healthy lunch place! I ordered their half turkey sandwich(Go Daddy, I think) and cup of butternut squash soup. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! I liked that the sandwich had a real, thick turkey breast, rather than thin deli slices. Also it was smothered generously with tapenade, but it wasn’t too salty. That was definitely«ingredients over bread» sandwich, with toasted bread just there to hold generous filling. The soup was good and tasted home made. They also had a great tasting gazpacho that day. The nicely presented plate had also a little small salad with cocktail tomato and baby pickle. Plenty of samples on the counter for you to taste as well. The total came to about $ 8.50, but I felt like it was a good value for the portion size and«nutrition factor». They have a salad bar, where you can create your own salad, grilled cheese sandwiches, soups, cookies and some other desserts. If you are in a hurry they have meals packed to go, like quinoa salad, quiche with a side salad, and other. Perfect to grab to go and take with you to a nearby beach. PS. You get a cookie with Unilocal check in(or Instagram, or Facebook).

Had Voila for the first time today and it was an epic meal. I created my own salad with baby spinach, chicken, corn, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, and Parmesan cheese. I had it dressed with their balsamic vinaigrette and to say the least it was the bomb. The portion was 100% hefty and left me totally content. It was a tasty meal that fed me fully and nourished my body with an assortment of organic nutrient rich foods. Without a doubt I look forward to returning.

Went to «VOILA» in La Jolla today, a recently opened Salad bar and Deli owned by a really nice Belgian couple. I love the concept of creating my own salad w/some super fresh and healthy organic ingredients! This is how it works: you choose your base for your salad such as arugula, spinach, quinoa, etc. and then you select your toppings and dressing. They have a huge selection of toppings(about 30!) to choose from which are all prepared fresh in house such as organic yellow roasted beets and bell peppers, seasoned croutons to name just a few. All the salad dressings are made in house as well. I also had a chance to taste their gazpacho, ooohhh my! Normally, I am not a huge fan of gazpacho, but this one is amazing! In addition to their extensive fine salad bar, they also make some sandwiches, paninis, quiche, soup, turkey and veggie burgers as well as some pasta dishes. Finally, as I have a sweet tooth(to say the least!), I could not resist to go for some desert. I asked the owner, she makes everything from scratch too, and uses the best quality of ingredients. I had few tastes on site including the caramel crème brûlée pie, the cheese cake w/crust made out of Belgian cookies, the lemon meringue pie and the chocolate caramel brownie. Their deserts are absolutely incredible!!! I absolutely adore the lemon meringue pie and the caramel crème brûlée pie(which everyone was buying while I was there!). Definitely a new jewel in La Jolla! A new favorites for me and recommend to anyone who looks for excellent quality, great taste, friendly service and amazing value!

LOVE this place. I“ve eaten here for dinner the past four nights. La Jolla needed a quality little shop like this. Organic, delicious, fresh, good service. It’s a good thing when a restaurant takes 10 – 15 minutes to prepare your meal vs. using pre-made food that’s been sitting out all day. The owner is often times in the restaurant and cooks sometimes as well; all employees are nice and friendly. My favorite dish is the BAAAHHH — grilled veggie sandie with goat cheese. I don’t eat meat but my boyfriend loves the Voila — grilled chicken with havarti cheese and grilled veggies.

Pretty good, but nothing spectacular. A salad with 5 toppings in a to go setting for $ 10. It’s La Jolla, but that’s still a little much. I sat next to a couple who got sandwiches that looked amazing. Next time.

This new eatery in downtown La Jolla is a must try! I came in with two of my friends and this cute café surprised us all. They have a variety of options from homemade belgian deserts to daily soups/quiches and finally to delicious salads. Everything was very fresh and what impressed me the most was the fact that everything is made in the restaurant from the dressings to the seasoned meats you’ll find in the sandwiches, salads, and croque Monsieurs. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! Thanks voila!

This place really fills a niche in La Jolla with easy and healthy food. Owned by a Belgian couple it offers a huge fresh salad bar with homemade dressings. I chose 5 out of probably 30 different toppings and the dijon vinagrette on arugula. It was a nice sized fresh and delicious salad. I also had the homemade gazpacho which was fantastic. They also have homemade bread and great desserts. I am going to be a frequent customer.
