I will preface this with saying that I typically do not make reviews online (I don’t think finding a doctor on Unilocal or any online site is the most credible way to find reliable care), but I felt it necessary to do so after my experience with Dr. Robbins.
My husband and I were referred to Dr. Robbins by our daughters pediatrician after it appeared that her blocked tear duct was not relieving itself. She was 14 months old at the time of our initial appointment. I was very apprehensive about the procedure she would be receiving (and I will just put it out there — I hate hospitals/​doctors offices in general). I consider myself to be not easily impressed by health care these days and difficult to please, especially when it comes to the care my daughter receives.
From our initial consultation and every appointment thereafter (pre and post operation) and follow up, I found myself thinking how grateful I was that I was referred to see Dr. Robbins. Not only did she explain every bit of information I could ever want to know about the diagnosis, cause and cure for my daughters blocked tear duct — but she took her time with us, reviewing the procedure and answering the many questions we had.
We went ahead with the surgery (I was a nervous wreck despite it being such a short surgery — I am a mom after all), and Dr. Robbins was sure to see us before, and immediately after she finished the surgery. At all times, I never questioned Dr. Robbins and knew we were in good hands.
We just followed up on Tuesday and she is cured. Everything went just perfectly.
I read through the reviews below and was pretty shocked by what I read. I feel like I need to say something about these reviews:
1) Everyone has bad days, reviewers and doctors alike, so that should always be taken into account.
2) THIS IS OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. Doctors have a lot of patients, there are typically long waits — and you should be prepared for that. I brought (to our initial appointment that we were TOLD was going to be 3 – 4 hours long an entire bag of toys, food, water, milk… etc). I also knew that the time I was scheduled was going to go into my daughters nap time. So I prepared myself for a cranky baby.
3) During each of my visits, I payed attention to the information being told to me and retained that information. I read the materials that were given to me and I did my research online. I seldom needed information repeated because I put my emotions on the shelf and LISTENED.

Overall, Dr. Robbins was professional, extremely intelligent/​knowledgeable, and courteous. As an added bonus, she was always so sweet to my daughter (she has children of her own so she is a natural!). I really could not have asked for more — except maybe that the procedure and visits be paid for!

Dr. Robbins is am amazing doctor. My son at age 7 was diagnosed with refractive amblyopia and it’s usually found earlier. I felt horrible, like I should have known, but Dr. Robbins was so kind and she kept reassuring me that we could work together and help my son. She is very thorough and explains what she is doing and is so kind to my child and myself. I would recommend Dr. Robbins to my family, friends and even strangers. Because of her experience and knowledge and the plan of action she has taken regarding my child’s eyes, I feel like he has a chance at a normal life and his eyes are getting better and better.

I can deal with the fact that you now have to pay for parking or the fact that you now have to show your ID & insurance card before every visit like you’re a common criminal or the waiting time. But, what I will not tolerate is asking a question about my son’s eyesight because it was never properly explained to me in my previous two visits and getting that smug look like I’m a complete idiot. When I told her that I had never heard this information, her response was… well, you were sitting right here during the visits.
So, if you’re looking for a doctor that is completely void of any warmth and believes in the transfer of information through osmosis… then, this is most certainly the doctor for you!
