Karen McGowan, MD

I was referred to Dr McGowan by a friend of mine who has a 10-​month baby. She described her as an excellent understanding pediatrician etc. When I came for an office visit I was extremely disappointed. Perhaps for the parents who are pro-​vacine and want to follow CDC immunization schedule she could be great, but those who are on delayed/​selective schedule should look for a doctor elsewhere. McGowan used «scare» tactless techniques to get parents to immunize. There was little tact in talking with parents. I was upset for the rest of the day after seeing Dr. McGowan and really hope I don’t have to see her ever again. Now looking for a different pediatrician, someone who, perhaps, is more understanding in those sensitive matters.
