Julie is the best! She is very professional, passionate about what she does and very sweet. I would not go to anyone else! Her studio is cute and clean and parking is easy!

Julie makes what could be an uncomfortable experience much more comfortable with her quick hands her beautiful space and her wonderful personality! This is the only place you should get waxed in town!

Julie has done it again. She brought in a new organic line «Pure Fiji» it’s absolutely amazing! The scents are incredible. I’m really sensitive to perfumes but these didn’t bother me at all, they were so intoxicating I didn’t want to shower ever again!
I got a full body treatment with a sugar scrub that melted as she massaged it into my body, really neat, never experienced anything like it. Then she finished with a coconut oil scalp and hair treatment that left my scalp and hair so hydrated and shiny. Awesome and relaxing treatment for yourself or would be a great gift for that special someone. Great addition to all of her other services.

I had never had a wax before in my life. I was so incredibly nervous going into see Julie to the point where I almost cancelled. However, Thailand was calling! And I was not about to have any mishaps in my new bikini.
Julie was beyond approachable, kind, easy to talk to, patient, and knowledge. She made me feel comfortable in arguably the most uncomfortable situation! She works odd hours so it’s perfect for us working gals that can’t get in until around 7pm — incredible convenient.
Beyond that the salon itself is easy to get to and incredibly clean!
Needless to say, I have my second ever wax on Friday! Julie is obviously the only person I would ever consider going to.

I have been waxed coast to coast. Julie is the best by a long shot. No one does my Brazilian but her. Even after «time off» from waxing, her gentle touch and knowledge make it as painless as possible.
On top of being extremely skilled at what she does, Julie is a wonderful person. I can promise you that she’ll make you feel very comfortable and right at home. Like I said earlier, I quit going to anyone else, even while on the road.

I was recommended to Jules Skin Studio by a friend and went for my very first Brazilian wax. Julie made me feel very comfortable and relaxed from the minute I walked in the door. The room was spotless! Clean linens, pleasant fresh smell and very organized! She even offered me a glass of wine :) For my first time it was of course painful but Julie made it manageable. The results were incredible! Never had any issues with skin irritation and my hair grew back very fine.
I have been going to Julie for the last 6 months now, about once a month, and definitely will never go anywhere else! I have recommended countless friends to go to her for their services and two have become regulars like myself. Oh and by the way, the cost is very competitive for this area and for what you get! Definitely a huge plus for me!

Julie has been waxing my brows on the regular for several years now and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. They’re perfect every time and the redness is always minimal and doesn’t last long, plus she’s really sweet, accommodating and fun to talk to.
She doesn’t even gripe when I go *forever* between appointments and come in looking like a yeti has moved in on my face.

After ready all the comments I bought the coupon deal for facial with Julie. I made an appointment and specifically asked her to call me on my CELL and confirm the appointment prior to the scheduled time. However, she called me on my office phone (I normally am not there) and left a VM and mark my coupon USED! Seriously???
So I called her up today to explain and sort it out. She was so mean & rude and basically told me NO!!! I mean how can you do this to people?
I didn’t get to use her services but with the attitude I got from her I would NOT recommend her to anyone.

I was tired of being a slave to my razor. I Hate buying all the plastic disposable garbage that doesn’t last long and when you add it up– it costs an assload to replace…
I was a diehard waxer for years but I slowly fell back into the what the marketing world has convinced us ladies into that bullshit belief that we can have «a smooth shave with no nicks and cuts».
Ladies (and gents) Waxing is the way to go!
So I’m browsing the PB/​La Jolla spa and salons. At first I opted for a different spa in the village. I had an ok leg wax but the experience left strays everywhere and the wax was that hot ass yellowy brown stuff. The wax was so hot I had red marks on my underarms for weeks. The lady had a magnifying with light but didn’t use it. I felt Gross. Is this why I stopped waxing?
I waited a few weeks and decided to search again. I saw the reviews for Jules and knew that all these five star reviews could NOT be bullshit or fake so I took the plunge.
Set up my whole appointment via TEXT! Pricing, questions, booking… All via text message. Of course she takes phone calls but this is so convenient for me and much easier than playing phone tag.
I will now here on Unilocal proclaim my absolute devotion and 100% loyalty to Julie from this point on, now and forever.
Wow. What a wax.
Now I did NOT opt for the round trip to Brazil, but DID get a full leg, mini bikini and underarm. I was really happy, hairless. I felt clean — not sticky and gross. Yay!

She really took her time and was very sweet and caring. I noticed her credentials on the wall and that she has training from one of the best spas in Boston. (As an east coaster) I was very impressed. She has been waxing for over 12 years! Woot woot!
I was also really impressed to see her open up fresh bottles of product and the assortment of waxes she used for different areas of the body. Also her space was so clean and well organized which I really admire because it’s small.
I’d also like to comment on the building itself. Sola Salon is a building filled with small suites. Each suite has an individual business. Jules is one of those businesses. Her individual unit is very beautiful and comfortable. I also thought the communal bathroom provided for all of the suites was clean and nice.
Overall I didn’t even want to write a review. I want to keep Julie all to myself but I realize I’d be cheating all the wonderful women in San Diego out of the best wax of their life.
I look forward to my next wax and love that I feel like I really got the VALUE for my purchase.

I have always been a fan of getting facials but I have had a really hard time finding someone that gave quality facials and going the extra mile to make you feel pampered. I show up and Jules also offers me something to drink first. She is great at examining my skin and making peels to match. She goes the extra step and gives a hand and arm massage and sets your hands is a warm mitt to allow the lotion to absorb while she finishes. I love that she never cuts corners, always gives you your money’s worth and is so friendly and warm.
I suggest her to all my friends.

I live in New York City and own a salon in Bankers Hill. I come out about every 7 weeks and the first thing I do is schedule my appt with Julie. She is clean, professional, and makes it super comfortable.

Jules took my facial virginity and I’ll definitely be back. Didn’t really know what to expect going in, but after a brutal week at Mammoth during the last storm, I thought I could use a revival.
Jules is professional, courteous and knows her stuff. Easy to chat with, her space is clean and cozy and I think I may have fallen asleep at the end.
Her spot is a little tough to find if you’re not looking, but it’s right on LJB and there’s ample parking. Just walk in, go right and you’re there. Well worth it!

I went to Julie for the first time last year to use a facial certificate I won and was so pleasantly surprised. I have only had two other facials and didn’t find them to be good experiences. My skin is sensitive so after poking and prodding it looks like a sea of red blotches, but since I had the certificate I figured I’d give Julie a try.
Julie was SO nice, offering me tea or wine when I got to her small studio. Then I laid down on a massage type table and she covered me with a blanket and put my hands in warm mitts while she proceeded to gently give me a papaya facial (I upgraded). The Elizabeth Grady products she used were amazing — smelled great and were very soothing to my sensitive skin. I could feel her clearing my pores and yet it didn’t hurt!
Julie made me a believer in facials again! I’ve never gone to her for waxing but after all the rave reviews will probably try that too!
Definitely 5 stars! And Julie is so nice to boot you will feel good supporting her!
