I’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times now and have been very impressed with the place both times! The location is great. You get a perfect view of La Grange’s beautiful courthouse square and trains go by just outside of the restaurant. One Nineteen West Main loves to promote its family-friendly atmosphere and food options but entrees not included on the kid’s menu use familiar ingredients to make really creative dishes. The unconventional fare hasn’t disappointed me yet. The last entrée I ordered was the locomotive burger which comes with bacon, ham, pepper-jack cheese, fried green tomato, onions, lettuce, and a whole lot of thousand island dressing. It packs a serious flavor punch but make sure you’re really hungry when you order it because it is fairly large. Due to its size and messiness, I decided to eat it with a fork and knife. I chose the eggplant fries with avocado dipping sauce as my side and will definitely order those again the next time I’m there. Make sure you save room for dessert! One Nineteen West Main has quite a few tempting dessert options. The last dessert I tried was the Kentucky bacon pie. Don’t let the bacon component scare you off; bacon is actually delicious in sweets! I absolutely love the food and location of this place but didn’t give it a perfect score due to its lack of alcoholic beverages and the décor inside the restaurant. The walls are decorated with old board games and the tables are covered in paper for children to draw on. I assume both of these decisions were meant to make the place more family-friendly though for someone who doesn’t have children, I think both things clash with the high quality of the food. But the food makes the odd décor and lack of alcohol worth a try!

While traveling from Cincinnati to Louisville, I google searched, where to eat between the two cities. 119 west Main in Lagrange, KY popped up. Of course I then went out to Unilocal to read the reviews and we were not disappointed. Definitely not a fancy place with board game used on the walls as décor which I thought was very clever. The menu was huge with many interesting items. Including Reuben wontons and potato bites to name a few! I ordered the whitefish Reuben which was bronzed(lightly blacked) with coleslaw, cheese, thousand and grilled between marble rye! YUM! My husband had two pork chops, mashed potatoes and broccoli for a whopping 12.99. He loved it We also tried the Kelly’s chip nachos which were only ok, as both the chips and nacho cheese were cold. That along with the cold French fries are the only reason I did not give this restaurant 5*s. Also within~ ½ mile of highway 71 and only about 30 minutes from downtown Louisville. We will be back!

Such a cute place and great food. It had a neat theme with all of the vintage board games. It seemed very clean. We had very friendly service as well.

A beautiful location in the heart of Historic La Grange. The courthouse, police station, antique malls, and boutiques are lined up next door! It had been a little over three years since my last visit to One Nineteen West Main and me oh my was I missing out?! We were greeted immediately by our sweet server and asked of we would like a window seat or a seat in the back of the restaurant. Watching the trains go by is often a favorite of ours when in Lagrange. We opted for the window seat! It was a little too chilly to sit outside on their small but quaint patio! I will begin with the con because it was too fantastic to end with a negative! The décor is extremely odd. I do not understand the concept of the games being on the walls… I feel like a décor renovation would do wonders for this cute little restaurant! When looking at the menu, it can be a little overwhelming due to the endless options! Deciding exactly what we wanted was a task because we wanted it all! We began with the railroad spikes, which are pimento cheese stuffed peppers fried to perfection with Panko breadcrumbs. They serve this dish with a scrumptious house made pepper jelly! In fact, this was the tastiest and freshest pepper jelly I have ever opted to put in my mouth! Next, we ordered the pimento cheese inside deviled eggs and the eggplant fritters. Also, fried to perfection with Panko breadcrumbs. There is nothing greasy about anything fried at One Nineteen West Main! That is something I just love about this place! Finally, we ended our bellies stuffed as can be with the Kentucky Hot Brown! I have tried many hot browns from the Brown Hotel to wild Eggs and NOONE does a Kentucky hot brown like One Nineteen West! It even has a fried green tomato served atop of the turkey, ham, gravy, Texas toast, tomatoes, and bacon! It melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more!!! It’s safe to say that we left with our bellies full of fantastic food! This is our new favorite restaurant to visit every time we come to Lagrange! FUNFACT: the bourbon bread pudding is mouth watering! It wasn’t ordered in this visit but is the perfect dessert choice for anyone looking to over indulge or begin with ;)

This was my first time trying One Nineteen West Main and I had a pretty good experience, however I feel like I would need to go back in order to give it a solid review. I went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon with three coworkers. When we arrived, there were a few patrons, but the restaurant quickly filled up the closer to noon it got. Our server was prompt and friendly. For lunch, I ordered the chicken, and multiple cheese macaroni and cheese, which was topped with bacon. The bacon was crispy and the macaroni and cheese was hot and creamy. There was something off about the taste, I could not put my finger on it, but it was definitely not something I would order again. I also split the Trainwreck sandwich with a friend and it was delicious. Skinless boneless chicken breast with Borson cheese dressing, creamy avocado, bacon strips, and melted Monterey Jack cheese. It was served with homemade chips for $ 8.49. I tried a co-workers pulled pork sandwich and the BBQ sauce was a tad sweet for my liking(the Coke slaw also had entirely too much dill). I didn’t have a bad experience, but I wasn’t overly impressed either. I would be willing to give this place another try. There are MANY things on the menu I’d like to try!

My husband and I just moved to LaGrange and wanted to check out the local establishments. Upon entering we both noticed they need better decorations and were leary. Decided we have to try it regardless. We had lunch here and wow did we overdo it! Everything was so yummy we kept ordering more. The food was homemade. The selection was perfect! Real fresh cut french fries… the pasta salad was amazing and unique. They have crème brule and Kentucky bacon pie… delicious! We will be back often! So happy we stopped!

My husband and friend chose to come here based on other Unilocal reviews. We were not disappointed. Our server Megan provided us with great recommendations, service, and hospitality. I had the salsa white fish and it was fantastic. Since the establishment is dry, she provided us with the names of some fantastic local bars. The portions are huge, satisfying, and very affordable. A good eat, for a good price, with southern hospitality. The next time we are in town, we will be back! Stop in!

Great atmosphere: fun board games on the walls, located on the tracks to watch the train, and near the courthouse square. Absolutely great staff, so sweet and helpful. Many different options, for sure something for everyone even being a vegetarian; they will sub meats for things to which every vegetarian loves! Amazing dessert options, fruity pebble banana split is a must!

Wow! Digs/appearance/décor– cool, quaint, right by the train tracks in the heart of LaGrange. Very cool, but if it got crowded… might be a tad stuffy. No biggie. 3.9÷5 Service — quick, friendly, and accommodating. Can’t beat that! For the questions I had about menu items that’s she didn’t know… she went and found out with ease and great attitude. FOOD — I had the pineapple blackened white fish with black beans and steamed broccoli. Outstanding job by the cook: fish cooked and seasoned to perfection, same for the broccoli. Let me tell you that 9⁄10 black bean dishes are not good, and I want to like them, but these beans were awesome… so that’s saying a lot from me. They have a great menu that I’m very curious about exploring the future! Overall — 4.4÷5

Not only did I fall in love with this quaint and cute little railroad town of La Grange, KY, I discovered one of the BEST small town restaurants ever. One Nineteen West Main is a must try if you’re driving through the area. And if you’re not in the area, well heck, make the road trip anyway… It will be well worth it! We tried the pimento cheese deviled eggs, the«railroad spikes» stuffed peppers with pepper jelly, the Reuben wontons and the KY hot brown. To sum it up in one word, flippindeliciouslipsmackingoooooooood!!! We wanted to try the fried upside down pineapple cake too but didn’t have any room left in our happy bellies. Can’t wait to return to this fab spot with excellent customer service!

This is a very good place for a family dinner. It has good food and a wide variety of choices for adults and children. The kids love to draw on the«table cloths» with their crayons. Definitely recommend if you want to support the local dining scene. The banana toffee pie is the best, definitely get it for dessert!

First off, our waiter was one of the friendliest we’ve ever had the experience of having enjoyed. Our food, from the fried green tomatoes, eggplant fries, salmon in a Pinot reduction and the Kentucky haute brown was nothing short of spectacular! It was a dining experience that we truly enjoyed. We’ll be back when our travels take us back through this part of Kentucky.

I am really happy to have One Nineteen West Main in the neighborhood — it’s great to see the food scene in Americana La Grange up a notch, and service is always fast and friendly. Located just across from the courthouse in the heart of downtown, if you’re lucky you can sit at the limited ‘patio’(sidewalk) seating on a nice day and get up close and personal with the trains that regularly roll down Main Street. One Nineteen has a diverse, interesting, and even funny(who knew?) menu that is generally well executed. Thanksgiving on a bun, anyone? Ruben wontons? My favorite is the Haute Brown — may I never eat that gigantic plate of goodness in one sitting — with the addition of fried green tomatoes in place of the regular red version and an incredible Mornay sauce it is ‘haute’ indeed. If the appetizers and main menu don’t quite get you, then the desserts will. Save room for the bourbon soaked cherry bread pudding, crème brûlée, or if you’re daring the Kentucky chocolate bacon pie. A few interesting bits that lose that elusive fifth star for me have little to do with the food(the most important part) but are nagging nonetheless. The décor is just this side of eclectic and skirts a fine line into the edges of bizarre and cheesy. And I’m not sure if the lack of, ahem, adult beverage options is a choice or a licensing issue(Oldham Co. is still kind of funny about that, having been a dry county until just these last few years) but I’d love to have an actual bourbon with my cherry bread pudding every once in a while. Just saying. That said, if the crowds at lunch and dinner are any indication, these guys will be around for some time — a testament to the fun, delicious, and interesting menu. I am so glad to have them in my home town.

Thank you Unilocal for finding this little gem for me. I found this place on Unilocal while visiting this weekend. Not knowing where anything is in this small town. The reviews were spot on. Ordered the fried green tomatoes and ruben wontons. The fried green tomatoes were delicious and had this crunch, I think you could here it back in Miami! Ruben wontons oh yeah it was as good as it sounds, dipped in thousand island dressing and melted swiss. I love Ruben’s. I ordered the local dish«Haute» Brown. It came on a piping hot plate and is texas toast on the bottom, slices of turkey breast and ham, fried green tomato, white creamy country gravy poured on top with cheese and 2 slices bacon. Yes you heard me. Didn’t eat the toast, it was some yummy country cooking. Hubby ordered pork chops — juicy cooked to perfection came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Zack ordered Thanksgiving on a plate. Got Kentucky bacon pie to go. Stuffed! Place is family friendly and server was very friendly Thanks again Unilocal

Very good service. I split the Haute Brown entrée to leave enough room for dessert, and this turned out to be a good idea. The portion size was very generous. Hot Brown is a regional dish, so when in Rome… The dessert was the highlight for me, we had bacon pie, which does not contain an overwhelming amount of bacon, it is filled with pralines, toffee, and pretzels. We also tried the bread pudding with bourbon soaked cherries, this was also incredible. Kids enjoyed their burgers and pulled pork, especially the French fries. My wife ordered buffalo chicken wrap, but found this dish too creamy in texture.

Excellent food quality. Great variety in the menu. Friendly staff — the kind you’d expect in small town Kentucky. I had fish tacos, and for dessert, peach rhubarb crisp. My husband had«Fruit of the Loin» which was apple-stuffed pork tenderloin with apple butter and candied pecans on top. He relished every bite of it along with the ham green beans on the side. Thankful we found this gem open for business on our Sunday evening travelling home. Cute t-shirts on display and for sale about what to do if you’re driving down main street and you see a train coming.

The name is the address. Love it! Perfect parking right in front. The streets have trees, flowers, and a railroad track right down the middle. Perfect weather to sit outside. Hostess/waitress was so polite and accommodating. The town is cute(we see parts from our outside seating). Very patriotic! The menu is cool. So many fun things to choose. «The Fish You Wish» is my choice. This was the busiest, funniest lunch in a long time. The same road you drive in and out has tracks that are in use… by fifty different kinds of construction equipment. It felt like a parade with bells going off, people hollering out, and waving. I have video and pics to go with this review. I got bacon pie for dessert. Delicious for sure!!! My boyfriend got fruity pebbles covered and fried unsplit banana with ice cream and syrups(official name Fried Banana Unsplit). His was awesome! We had such a great experience. Look forward to coming back.
