Our Wednesday family meal from Mezza was a great one. The portion sizes were plenty. A good healthy, but delicious meal for everyone. The hummus was good and the pita it comes with is delicious. Everyones meals was delicious from; steak, chiken, falfel shwarmas, no one had a complaint in mind

I have been eying the place for a while now. I used to go to the Chipotle at the same spot. I love their interior they have the best kind in the area for the fast food chain. Service is quick, Staff is extra polite, I am a bit concerned with their food handling. I do not see their hands as they move fast behind the SS counter. Perhaps other chains have spoiled me! We ordered Falafel with Pita, I did not get enough falafel or the vegetables. I barely got one crushed piece. I felt a «death by carbs» syndrome after my lunch. For vegetarians falafel is one source of protein to keep them from getting lethargic. Hopefully I will get better made pita. My serving had a ton of lettuce and hardly any vegetables, But the server did bring me a small serving of vegetables afterwards. If I can see them handling my raw food and be sure they are not cross contaminating it, and they can get generous with vegetables and falafel in the serving… I am visiting there every week. I love Vegetarian middle eastern food.

On our first visit, we showed up half an hour before the posted closing time. Doors locked. Teenage girl comes to the door and explains they closed early, with no explanation. We decided to Never goback. We went back anyway and found the place to be a pretty good fastfood version of mediterranean restaurant. We has Schwaraza because we had seen Avengers recently.

My sister and I just ate at Mezza for the first time and it was AMAZING! We shared the Chicken Kabob Pita and the Spicy Chicken Pita. Both were super delicious and I cannot wait to go back! Friendly service atmosphere was awesome and the Halloween decorations were super cute

I was excited when this opened— more diversity in the ‘burbs is always a nice thing(yes, even if it’s in the form of chains). But I was disappointed— the employees behind the counter had no idea what was going on. The food was ok, but not that great. Don’t go when you are hungry and chow-down ’cause you will feel sick after. However, if you want to go for a snack, I think one’s stomach can handle it. Pluses: food served on real(plastic) plates and cups, and silverware. Portions are on the big side. Spicy chicken was yummy and juicy. Lots of seating. Kids menu. Very modern, sleek décor(maybe that’s not a plus?). Free refills. Central location.

Food: I had the mezza chicken pita. It was not bad and also had a generous amount of meat. The falafel side was good, not greasy, and properly seasoned. Veggies were fresh. Drink: coke products and republic of tea on tap. NOLEMONS! When I asked for lemon they said«we don’t have lemons ANYMORE.“Anymore? How do you not have fresh lemon at a «Mediterranean» grill? I was offered lemon juice. No thanks. I was also given a plastic cup. No refills to go unfortunately. Ambiance: decorated nicely. Everything was very clean. I expected some Mediterranean music. I was greeted with alanis morrisette instead. Overall: good food, a bit pricey, I’ll give it another shot. I’ll probably try a salad next time.

I had the two chicken kabob meal($ 8.99) with brown rice, hummus. It came with a pita, the chicken was excellent, the hummus was very tasty, the brown rice was done very well, the pita was delicious! My wife had the two beef tenderloin kabob meal($ 10.99) with the basmati rice, it too was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect, not hungry at all when I left, I don’t have a single complaint about the meal.

Nice to have this option in La Grange! We’ve been here two nights in a row now just out of convenience and I have to say that I was really shocked by the 2-star rating after we looked it up. For fast-casual dining of Mediterranean food it hits the spot. And honestly we feel the portions are spot-on as well… easily the same size as when I would get the same food at places like Oasis and Haifa in the city. I hope those giving negative reviews will give it another try… two tries in a row and we’re happy with the experience. The good — atmosphere… looks like a nice clean place — falafel pita: very tasty, fresh lettuce, tahini, etc… on-par with other places in Chicago I’ve found — steak shwarma: a little salty, but great flavors… will get again for sure — Fattoush salad: another tasteful dish… The meh — hummus: just kinda runny and while recognizable as hummus, didn’t taste like any other I’ve had… I’d pass on the hummus side, honestly In sum a good spot and alternative to some of the other places around… again its kind of like a Chipotle, but for Mediterranean food… its not a restaurant. Maybe some people are expecting more, but its just a fast-casual place.

I’m disappointed to see such poor ratings from people and I can’t help but wonder if we all visited the same location?! I was very excited to see Mezza take over the old Chipotle location and bring a new flavor in the mix on La Grange Rd. my first visit with two friends who had no prior experience with Mediterranean cuisine so I was given the responsibility of ordering on their behalf. We started with the falafel and roasted red pepper hummus. Everyone agreed that the items were fresh and generous in quantity. They were a little busy and graciously offered to bring our meals to our tables. I ordered the Mezza salad with spicy chicken and the other two ordered wraps. My salad was huge! The romaine lettuce was crisp as were the tomatoes. There was also a generous amount of olives and feta. In no way was anything skimped on. The wraps were also a fair size and my two friends enjoyed their introduction to Mediterranean fare. They are actually excited to go back. Also, though it’s a fast food place, the décor is fresh and immaculately clean. The employees were very attentive and so gracious even though we changed our orders a few times. We appreciated that they brought our food to us instead of making us wait. I will definitely go back!

My daughter was in from NYC and we noticed Chipoltle moved and this place looked interesting. We knew something was wrong, at 1pm on a Friday afternoon there was little business. You can see it was formerly a Chipoltle from the set up and other than changing the chairs to a neon color, nothing else was different. We walked up to the line and my daughter ordered the falafel appetizer. I ordered a chicken kabob wrap. The falafel was dried out and had no taste. We asked for a fresher plate and when the young man brought us another one, it looked just as burnt and dried out. The chicken kabob wrap was awful. The chicken was very dry. The pita was good. We were so expecting something so much better. It had the potential but someone better step up to the plate or this place will be out of business before you know it. Parking is hard in that area, too. If they food is bad, not even the high school students will pay for it!

Food is good, except portions are SMALL. It’s about $ 7 for a chix shwarma pita and you barely get half a chicken breast. Unless the prices are lowered or portions are larger, I most likely will not be back.

It is what it is… fast food Mediterranean. If you don’t go in expecting more than that, you will be fine. If you do, you will probably be disappointed. I ordered the falafel pita. It was a little dry, but tasty nonetheless. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I’ll try it again.

The Driest Blandest Mediterranean Food Ever I was kind of excited to know that this was coming to La Grange, although I was hoping for something a little less of a chain. Any way, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I ordered the Chicken Tunisian. It’s listed on the board as «spicy chicken»(which I think is a mistake because it’s not listed that way on the website) but the meat was so dry and so bland I had to add salt and pepper… seriously. They put very little sauce on it so it was even more tasteless. None of that jives with a Mediterranean joint… none of it. The fact that they made my order the wrong way the first time(made a different pita than I ordered) I will chalk purely up to their being in their first days of open business. I will unlikely return though… you guys have nothing on Roti. Nothing!

You beat me to it Liz !! :-) Well, I’m not going to echo everything Liz said(cuz then I’d be like… a copycat). I agree with everything she wrote. Or do I??? The space is indeed very attractive. I love the décor. The staff was very friendly, which brings me to my next point: it was a madhouse here last night, and I thought they handled it very well. You can tell they have a few kinks to work out though. For instance, alot of wraps were ending up next to the register wrapped up in foil and ready to go, but how does the cashier know which one goes to which customer? And a few other little things. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was fantastic! The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My only quip with this is the fact that you don’t get a little side of anything with it. Boo! I was STARVING… plus, the wrap was seven bucks. I kinda wanted a little side with that please! It’s not a deal breaker for me though. I’ll be back for sure. They have this awesome sounding salad I gotta try — the Shepard Salad… figs, goat cheese, avacado… schwing! Welcome Mezza! Looking forward to getting to know ya!

Few thinks irk me like feeling like a chef/restaurant doesn’t trust me with authentic regional flavors. Big, bold flavor is what I want from my Mediterranean food, and while I can appreciate wanting to make it more«accessible», you can’t take out the spice and call it Mediterranean. Roti doesn’t. Naf Naf doesn’t, but checking out Mezza was very disappointing. And, while we’re at it, while the employees are all new I still expect them to be able to tell me what kind of cheese they’re serving with more detail than«it’s kinda like mozzarella.» If you don’t know, ask someone. That guy doesn’t know(he didn’t), ask someone else. For reals. So let’s talk about our wraps. I had the Spicy Tunisian Chicken, which wasn’t spicy at all. I got the scrapings from the bottom of the bucket because someone missed the cue to make more chicken. I don’t know that I got a full portion. It was simple Mediterranean flavors, and I suppose they considered the harissa mayo a «kick». There was no kick. Stay away from the wheat wraps — both mine and my husband’s cracked almost immediately and left us eating our wraps with forks. And my husband’s steak shawarma… wow. First, he too got the stuff at the bottom of the bucket and his really tasted like«bottom of the barrel» beef. There was virtually no flavor or spice and it was DRYASHELL. The«tahina» sauce was so watered down to be pointless. It was almost impressive how little flavor they managed to put into that wrap. Lastly, the red pepper hummus can best be described by my husband, who dipped his finger in it to taste. «Am I tasting hummus or my finger? Oh my god, my finger has more flavor than this hummus!» It’s true. It was a soupy(!!) red void where flavor should have been. The white pita bread they included with it was very salty, which made the hummus have some sort of flavor, but the bread was too salty to eat on its own. I could forgive one or two off things, especially since they just opened, but everything we had was mediocre to bad and the recipes just seem to be flawed or over-mellowed. This was a really big miss for me.

Where the old chipotle used to be. They changed around the seating and it seems to accommodate less people now then the old chipotle did. Place does look nice though. Now for the food. I got the Caesar chicken wrap which was very good. But… Was not filled much at all. For eight dollars I expected a little bit more? Just finished it and am not satisfied, need more food for sure. They did just open so I will give them a few weeks to adjust before coming back for one more try. Like I said it was delicious… Just not enough. They did offer to add a salad for a dollar or two. I declined at the time but should have taken it to get that little bit more I was missing. Oh well, always next time. 3 star review only for portion size.

Mezza just opened this week at the old Chipotle spot. I was pretty excited to see something new around the area… The place is very bright and looked amazingly clean. As soon as I walked in I notice the green chairs and cleanliness. When you order you order just like Chipotle or Roti… You can tell that the ingredients are fresh… I felt healthier by simply ordering. They were a bit busy for dinner time… people probably want to check the new place out! So being my first time I was confused on the menu and how to order. They have a pretty good menu… the perfect amount of options if you ask me. They have Salads, Hummus, Kabobs(which looked amazing), pita, wraps, rice, veggies, and soup. They also have a kids menu which I thought was nice because there were a lot of kids there. We ordered: Tomato basil soup(I loved it even though it is a bit on the pricey side… and it came with pita bread) Mezza Salad with Chicken(Big portion salad… and the chicken was moist with really good flavor) Falafel pita(the veggie mixture in this pita was yummy!) More like a 3.5 star review(once I go back and try more things I may edit this review)…Mezza is a healthy option around the area…:-)
