Fan of Bills Place, one of reasons is the Green River on fountain. Tonight went to creamery and ordered Green Rivet Float, listed on menu, picture on wall. However I received a float made with a bottle of lime soda, when I questioned it, the girl working said it’s the same thing. Well it isn’t. I was disappointed.

Restaurant review I stopped by here recently on a hot summer day for a milk shake. There was no one in the ice cream store and I ended up having to find someone from Bill’s Place to make my milk shake. The prices are okay not too high. The milk shake was good, but nothing special. I might have to try the sundae’s next time. Oh well. Pro: ice cream store within a restaurant Cons: no special menu items Hidden gem: none

They have great ice cream and a ton of flavors to choose from! I also feel like you get a good size scoop for the price. They have later hours too, which always is a plus for the after-dinner ice cream craving. No complaints here!

Maple Avenue Creamery is an ice cream parlor attached to Bill’s Place, the La Grange Park institution. While I like Bill’s, I’m definitely a fan of Maple Avenue Creamery. The quality of the ice cream is really great and the prices are definitely fair. It’s 3-something for a delicious turtle sundae(two to three generous sccops of high-butterfat vanilla ice cream, carmel sauce, hot fudge, whipped cream, cherry on top). In addition, you can get your sundaes to go in a container that closes so you can take your ice cream on the road. Maple Avenue Creamery has summer hours so it’s actually open later than Bill’s. It’s a great place to stop for a treat while on a walk of the neighborhood. Budget tip: you can get a pint to go and dish out your own portions of the frozen goodness at home.

Was so excited to find an ice cream place near my house. The excitement was quickly deflated when we walked in and were not greeted with the customary hello. What we got was«we’re outta milk, so I can’t make any shakes.» Really? Really??? This is an ice CREAM place. Besides, there are two gas stations half a block away… I could SEE them from the store. Ya think they may have thought to make a milk run? Disgusted, but not wanting to find an alternate place for my ice cream fix, I ordered a cone. The ice cream was good. Too bad my experience was so sour.
