McCaffrey’s Coffee

Fantastic coffee shop. And not the way you are a number and not a person. People are treated fantastically here. Must be the Irish charm. Or the amazing scones. Or the fresh brewed coffee drinks made with a smiling face!
Every employee has the same happy, cheery disposition as the owner and hat is a great thing. Have I mentioned the fantastic sammiches? You should try this place out.

The coffee shop is very friendly we love stopping after our bike rides. Service is always friendly. Love the feel. Gets busy so you may need to share a table which is not normal for me being an introvert, but I have met cool people this way. Also really cool to use outdoor area when nice.

This is not a quick service joint. Only go here for leisurely coffee. Only one employee every morning, I only want one of their delicious scones to take to work, and it’s like some kind of test to see how bad I want a scone vs. how late to work I’m willing to be. Needless to say, they’ve saved me many calories by my unwillingness to wait 15 min for a scone to go.

I had an interesting experience at McCaffrey’s today. I had received a coupon for my birthday for a free coffee so I went in to use it and was pleasantly surprised that I was also given a free cake ball with it. However, after sitting down and learning that I needed a password for the wi-​fi I went back up to the counter to ask for it and was told by a different barista that the owner (presumably) who had served me specifically told her that I couldn’t have the password since I technically wasn’t a customer as I didn’t buy something… I literally responded to her by saying «Really.?» and it was clear that she felt quite awkward having to tell me this and make me buy something to get the password. I didn’t really get it. If you’re willing to give away coupons like this I also think that you should want the actual business of your customer, to stay and enjoy their coffee rather than driving them away by making such a weird rule. I’m sure there are plenty of people who only go there once to use their coupons but the sad thing is that I have been here multiple times and after today just have a bad vibe and have no interest in going back, it’s too bad because it’s a pretty neat place. Also, while I was there I heard the owner going around telling patrons where they could and could not sit… pretty uncomfortable experience overall.

Everything a local coffee shop should be… great food and beverages, but even better service and hospitality. Connie is delightful! And the scones are out of this world delicious!

Such a great place to write, read, and relax with friends. I visit almost everyday!

McCaffrey’s is a great local coffee shop. Definitely get their oatmeal baked as a casserole with raisins or blueberries. The scones rock!
