Visited Huck Finn’s yesterday for the first time and I was less than impressed. We waited about 15 minutes before being acknowledge on the patio. The waitress was less than attentive. Our food took over 1−½ hours to get to us. We had to go inside to get our own second drink because the waitress never returned. While waiting inside to order drinks my husband overheard another guest that was outside waiting for their food complain to the manager. His reply ‘we are doing the best we can because we are short staffed’. Um, wrong answer. There was no apology of any type for our wait or the last of attentiveness from our server. The food when it finally got there was mediocre at best. $ 80 later we were very disappointed in the service and the food. I don’t think we will be returning.

Over priced. Rubbery ribs, dry steak, microwaved seafood. It isn’t worth half the price.

We were one of three parties in the restaurant on a beautiful Saturday, early afternoon. One party was about 40 who had a pro photographer, the other a baby shower. The receptionist at our hotel had never eaten at Huck’s but said it was nice if we wanted to eat on the water. Nice location in the marina. Prices were a little high, but ok. We were having lunch before a wedding, dressed up and looking for a nice lunch. Everyone enjoyed the food. I overlooked the semi clear water glasses and enjoyed the meal. My breaded catfish was very tasty. Then it happened. Sometime between the wedding and reception, «Huck’s revenge» kicked in. Instead of enjoying cocktails and dinner with friends and family, I am hoping my roiling stomach will settle soon. Not the way I wanted to close this day out. Upon further review, we will not be back to Huck’s

Beautiful location. Excellent drinks. Fabulous entertainment. Gave only 3 stars because the surf n turf lobster tail was tiny and the steak was low grade. They were nice enough to bring out a new steak though since mine was overcooked.

What a welcome change from about 2 – 3 years ago. The old mentality of bar rules and management poor appears gone. The food, experience and ambiance are now fantastic. We were greeted by Hannah, a very friendly woman. She was kind and fun with our son. She was attentive tot the table at every turn and her suggestions from the menu were spot on! We ordered a mojito and it was made fresh and mixed correctly. The drinks were delivered and refilled very fast. The food was surprising. In the past when it reopened a few years ago the food wasn’t consistent and the staff seemed mis directed. Now I have to say the menu is great for selection. The buffalo chicken wrap was awesome. Very fresh ingredients and made to perfection. My wife had the summer strawberry wrap and inhaled it. That is a good sign! I will be back and will bring more people. Try this place out. You can get here by boat as well!

Really lovely place to spend a summer evening. The mojito is delicious. The cheese curds are great, but the coconut shrimp is way too sweet.

Went here last night and had a fantastic experience! We got there and it was really busy but was told that it would be only a few minutes, that there were tables but the staff was full-up. We didn’t even get our drinks at the bar when we were told our table was ready(outside). The atmosphere is great, being right on the water at the yacht club, a beautiful evening. Our waiter(Chad) was fantastic! Despite being super busy, his personality shined! As soon as we sat down he asked if we wanted more popcorn(we had finished ours from the bar) and he took our empty bowl and filled it for us. When taking our order he sat at the extra chair at the table across from us and spoke with us face to face. The food was out quickly and was fantastic-we had the(2) cod fillets and the grilled shrimp. We ate elsewhere tonight and the contrast was amazing! Poor service(didn’t get our food for an hour!), mediocre food… and it is a newly opened place! But it isn’t about the other place, it’s about Huck Finns. We would DEFINITELY come back here in a heartbeat!

Great food, lovely view, fun atmosphere. Great server Casey, quick, friendly and efficient. Fish was excellent, pleasant dinner salad. Husband’s fries were very tasty. Coming back for Sunday brunch.

No Coke just Pepsi products. Good dinner salad. Good for kids if they’re well behaved. Got portabella burger. Wife got large shrimp with baked potato. American cheese(what’s up with that?) in baked potato. Mac & cheese for kids. Except for the American cheese in the potato, this place was very good.

Food was all very tasty. Had a bacon wrapped tenderloin and lobster tail special for 19.99. It was well worth it. Will be back.

Ehhhhh it’s ok. I guess maybe I’ve been spoiled where I live with really cool restaurants on the water. We were really disappointed with the lack of restaurants on the water in the La Crosse area. There were only 2 that were worthwhile on the La Crosse side, and they were both closed on Sundays(at least at the lunch-hour)!!! I can’t believe all the wasted shoreline in this metropolis area! So we happened upon Huck Finn’s via Unilocal.Although on the water, it’s really more of staring at the boats docked in the Marina on a little inlet, not on the actual main river. So, it’s a bit misleading. I was also a little disappointed in the menu. It didn’t have a huge selection, so I opted to just get a burger. Said burger was mediocre, but the french fries were REALLY good(thin and crunchy with a bit of seasoning). My Mom got a shrimp po’ boy which she really enjoyed — she wished it didn’t have cheese on it, but said the flavor was fabulous. Overall, we were happy to be sitting outside and i guess in the vicinity of water. And the waitress was pretty good(and friendly!). So this restaurant«did the job» — but I think we both were really hoping for more. And as an FYI if you do plan on going here — it’s really TUCKEDAWAY and could be difficult to find. I totally thought my GPS was taking me somewhere crazy and had screwed up, but I continued to follow it anyways and was happy to see that it did, in fact, get us to the restaurant! It’s seemingly tucked-away in a little industrial area. Without Unilocal,or being a marina patron, I’m not quite sure how folks would even know about this restaurant. Overall, I don’t think I’d come back.

Nearly an hour wait for the appetizer(and it wasn’t super busy), American cheese slices on PoBoy when I ordered Swiss Cheese… Excuses instead of simple apologies. Bummer.

Drove over here from Onalaska. Worth the drive, don’t give up trying to find it. Had the stuffed portabella mushrooms and they were fantastic. Beer on tap, on the water overlooking the harbor. Get a table on the window and get down here!

Huck Finn’s was exactly what we were looking for. Good food at an affordable price with outdoor seating by water. Service was okay, not amazing but not bad. The food was quite tasty and the atmosphere was just right for a lazy afternoon. It was a laid back, all around good experience.

Went there and had great friends, great music and cocktails. We had ordered a fish sandwich and fries for only my husband. The waiter came back 10 min. later to tell us we are out of fish. OK change to to a burger. It was great but my husbands fries were cold. We only go there if they have music cause we love T.U.G.G. Music is rated a 5 plus 3 great local bands played last night at this place and they did not have the money to pay them DONOTGOTHERE

Good location. Good scenery. Friendly waitress. Food was not good, especially considering the price. The steak was overcooked and tough, and the greens in the salads were old and dried up. Artichoke dip was ok, but it was delivered with strongly(and oddly) seasoned bagel chips instead of tortilla chips. The bagel chips had so much of their own strange character that it confused the dip and made for an overall unpleasant combination.

Delicious lunch, reasonably priced, great location. Agree about the artichoke dip, tasty! Portions are large. Salads were big, robust, not the typical bar food. Great location on the water — deck area is a great lunch/dinner spot. Clean, nicely appointed restrooms.

There are very few places in the LaX area that I absolutely adore, after spending a little over two years of my life there. This is definitely one of them. Whether you sit in the bar or at a table in the dining room, the surrounding150 ft windows make your happy hr/dining experience pleasurable as you gaze out at the calm waters and foliage decorating the shoreline. The staff were attentive/friendly and although the volume level could get pretty loud especially on a Thurs of Fri night, it was a great place to lounge and catch up with friends. Many, many good times have been had there over teal blue concoctions from the bar. The food is also tasty and I recommend the artichoke dip, chicken tortilla soup, and fudgy-yum-yum brownie-cake desert. !!!All are excellente!!!
