Love love love this place! We take our dogs and eat on the patio. Food is awesome, and the people are great.

Today will be my third visit to Lupes– there’s a reason I keep coming back. So good! First time I came I got the chorizo breakfast burrito wet and it was amazing. Second time I came I got the carne asada burrito which was also really good. Today I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and it is beyond good. Bacon, cheese, egg, hash browns, tomato, sautéed peppers, and green salsa on top! It is really very delicious and totally helping with my and my husbands hangovers so thank you!

Let me begin by saying that I am NOT a picky eater… that’s my husband’s role. But the food from here was almost inedible. The Chicken torta was simply a slab of dry chicken breast on stale bread. The tacos were also dry. You’re better off driving down the street to Baja Fresh.

The chorizo breakfast burrito is the best! They open at 7am and close at 2 during the weekends so don’t show up late.

Came here based off rave reviews on the breakfast burrito and it’s mention on top lists for socal burritos. Very underwhelming. Price is fair and service is good. The burrito itself is stuffed with Ingredients but they’re very bland, there’s no flavor, nothing stands out at all. Tastes as if they blended all the ingredients together with no seasonings added.

Both the breakfast burritos themselves as well as the process of obtaining them were bizarre. The older woman who works the register is a total weirdo; there is no other way to describe it. She glares while you order, mutters comments under her breath if you ask basic questions regarding the menu items and is dour. As for the burritos, we got a bacon and a chorizo. The ingredients complementing the meats were inconsistent between the burritos, which wasn’t indicated on the menu, and again the register woman was a pill and didn’t let us know. The chorizo was the best of the two, but that falls under that whole ‘king of turd mountain’ caveat; basically it at least had one identifiable flavor(sodium). The bacon burrito tasted like all of the filler ingredients had been boiled in water until any specter of flavor had been exorcised. The bacon was soggy and scarce, far outnumbered by the armies of flies coating most visible interior surfaces. I tried this place because the burritos were featured on a «best of list.» I am left shaken and unable to ever trust any list ever again, perhaps the greatest tragedy in this whole debacle.

The customer service at Lupe’s place is excellent. I ordered the breakfast combo burrito and it was delicious, highly recommended.

The other reviewers’ ravings about the breakfast burritos are pretty spot on. They’re big and fresh, the bacon is crispy, the hash browns are seasoned, the cheese is gooey, and the sautéed peppers are a nice touch. If there was more egg I’d give Lupe’s 5 stars, but overall it was a good burrito in an unexpected location.

Had the costillas en salsa Roja and it was delicious and tender. Came with rice and beans and chingados it was so good! Previously tried the huevos rancheros and they were pretty decent. Some people complain about the debit fee. Just get over it, bring cash and stop with the whining. Bring cash and enjoy the food. Burritos are very stuffed and delish. This is a mom and pop and you either like these hole in the walls places or you don’t. I like them so I will come back. They have few seats outside which are nice.

The food portion was more than enough. Wouldn’t recommend the lungua though. The horchata tasted funky. The water filter probably hasn’t been change. I got that tap water taste. It’s a cool little spot with nice tables in the front.

Lupe’s made #21 on the SoCal best burrito list. Their homemade salsas, corn tortillas and low prices add up to the best outdoor breaskfast in town.

This place sucks try to take my fiancé over there to get food on her lunch break and took them over 30 minutes when I want to ask for our food they hadn’t even started yet. Then they brought our food and open the box up and there was no meeting two tacos no lettuce no tomato service literally like about two tiny shreds of beef. I had to get my money back. Steer clear of here.

While it was not be the best breakfast burrito spot ever, nevertheless, if you live in La Canada with limited choices, this will satisfy your breakfast burrito fix for a reasonable price. Customer service could be a bit responsive as it appeared the older gentleman did not care whether you were there or not. No smile, no reaction, just plain awkwardness. Give it a shot.

Visited for the first time after seeing it on Thrillist. Really great breakfast burritos! Also got the Chicken Quesadilla. Filled it up with lots of chicken. Will definitely be coming back!

A 50 cent debit/credit surcharge seems like a silly thing to complain about. Bring cash. A 7.50 breakfast burrito too pricey? Maybe. But I bet what lies inside every other joints burrito doesn’t look like this places. Yes, it’s easy to find a cheap bacon, egg, potato, and cheddar burrito cheaper. But, a Machaca breakfast burrito filled with egg, shredded beef, peppers, onions, rice, beans, and cheese. Pretty darn good. I didn’t have to eat the rest of the day. The chorizo burrito for 6 bucks is also not a bad deal. We stopped for lunch on another visit. Carnitas burrito again is a good size and was tasty. Tacos were 1.95 each. Asada was good. Chicken was better. Their homemade salsa is pretty fantastic. It’s smoky and goes well with breakfast or lunch. Just wish it was a little spicier. I know if you’re looking for traditional breakfast burrito there are plenty of options around. If you’re looking for something different, this place is worth a try.

This appears to be a mom & pops Mexican restaurant. Pretty small, but it has both indoor and outdoor seatings. It seems as though a lot of locals frequent this place. The interior leaves much to be desired, as it is on the dirty side — this includes tables, chairs, floor, counters, etc. I’ve been to mom & pops restaurants that are plenty clean, so I don’t see that as an excuse. Been here on two occasions for their combo breakfast burrito, which has 3 meats: bacon, ham & sausage. On both tries, the breakfast burrito was decent but not great. I think there was too much potatoes, so it started feeling a little too mushy… Definitely wasn’t blown away by the taste & quality though. Pretty darn expensive when it comes out to almost $ 8. They have 2 sauces on the counter next to the cashier area, a red mild sauce and a green mild sauce. You have to ask them to bring out the Chipotle sauce, which is the only one that’s decently spicy(perhaps spicy level of 4 on a scale of 1 to 10). PS. There’s a dumb 30 cents surcharge on credit/debit cards for purchases under $ 10. Since I usually come here by myself, it’s not likely I’ll spend more than $ 10. –_– 3 stars for just A-OK food, and possibility of coming back to try their other items!

meh… I am not a fan, and it’s not just because these folks charge extra for using your credit/debit card. I got the breakfast burrito and it was bland. i would take Lucky Boy’s breakfast burrito over these guys any day. We also ordered the huevos rancheros plate and. it was also bland. Side note — the guy that took our money proceeded to cook the meal behind the counter WITHOUTWASHINGHISHANDS or PUTTINGONGLOVES. grody to the max! no future visits for this joint.

Combo breakfast burrito, ftw! Headed to Lupe’s for a breakfast burrito before work in the morning. and I’m glad I did! The lady taking our orders(Lupe, I’m assuming?) was friendly as I ordered two combo breakfast burritos for my dad and me. My orders took a bit longer than expected, but the wait was worth it! 3 meats rolled into cheese and hash browns, a breakfast burrito can’t get any better than that!
