After seeing the reviews we had to try this place. We were not let down, I had migas and my husband had lengua taco, Barbacoa taco, and carne guisada taco. We both thought they were delicious! Only reason not a 5 given is due to American cheese– not our favorite!

On the way to hang out with some friends in SA, and this came up on the radar. Easy to label this as a dive… and dont let that steer ya away from a visit. First, we will have to make the trip back for lunch, because breakfast was really good. Service was spot on, and yes the wife had to have chips and queso at 8am, dont judge. Along with some Killer salsa and a bottle of some smokin hot green sauce in a bottle. Chips were yellow corn based, and fresh and crunchy. Queso had great flavor, and with a spoonful of the salsa was the perfect addition. Now this was just a simple visit with a couple of breakfast tacos. Everything was hot, tortillas fresh, potatoes cooked thru and all thou I am a fan of strips of bacon, the chopped bacon pieces were thick and flavorful. and with a squirt of the green magic across the top, these tacos hit the spot. We will be back in a couple weeks to try the lunch menu.

Great food and friendly staff. Don’t be mislead by the exterior, clean and decent inside. Go for lunch since not open for dinner.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. Tiny, but homey. Nice family, good food. Inexpensive. Superb tamales during holidays.

Absolutely the best fajita tacos in Kyle, the birthplace of fajitas! Try the breakfast tacos also, their just as good! They have 4 different types of salsa, the green is the spiciest and my preference. In a hurry? My favorite part though is the fact that you can call in your order and pick it up in their drive through! Quick, inexpensive, and great quality, along with a friendly staff, I give it five stars!

This place is great! Food is always fresh and portions are good. The breakfast tacos are great, but lunch and dinner is tasty as well. And they have a drive thru!

I’m from an area that is dominated by mexican food restaurants. I saw reviews for the previous restaurant that was here but when came by a year ago it was closed. In area and decided to see if it was open… parking lot filled so decided to stop. Table ordered following: pancake plate. Pancakes had vanilla flavor, but not overpowering, eggs fluffy, bacon crisp, toast thick. Barbacoa platter(1 lb meat, pico, refried beans, tortillas). Barbacoa was clean, pico fresh. Good, fresh, well priced food. Chips/salsa, chips served warm, red salsa fresh n spicy. Tea was okay. Service staff very friendly and attentive. I would have given 5 stars for food/value, except flour tortillas were not homeade, they were from a package. Not bad tortillas, but where I’m from, serving packaged flour tortillas is a mexican restaurant sin. Its what Chili’s does. That being said, i would come back but ask for corn tortillas, see if they are homeade or packaged.

Love this place! Always do drive thru because so small inside and usually no open tables. Food is always good and orders are always right! The migas breakfast tacos are the best! If you like spicy, try the green sauce! The ladies working drive thru are always so nice and sweet! You won’t be disappointed!

This restaurant had great food, they serve a full menu all day. The Barbacoa was great, they cook the eggs perfectly and the tortillas were fresh. I will continue to make this place a go to. Friendly service and a good price

Stopped here on our way back from Austin. Don’t regret the decision. The place isn’t much to look at, but the service was great, the food was delicious. Their salsas alone are worth the visit. Prices are reasonable. Their daily specials are excellent deals. Since I work in Austin and live in SA, I’ll will definitely be dropping by again

Ironically this place is owned by the nephew of the family that owned Los Vega. We stopped here for dinner one night. The tortillas were homemade. My only complaint was they use American Cheese in lieu of Cheddar. I understand its a cost thing. The service was excellent. The rice and beans were great. I usually do not eat rice and beans at Mexican restaurants. I did like their salsa. I had ordered a Gordita plate. I had thought that I should order a second one. I was impressed how large it was. It was very filling. I will definitely be back. I will be coming back to try their breakfast tacos.

Some of the sweetest people ever serving great food. I’ve been here at least 2 – 3 times a week since I first came!

I was a fan of Los Vega, which was housed in this old home-made restaurant for a few years… but hadn’t gotten to have El Roble yet. A few weeks ago I was headed to Cross Plants and Produce(almost next door to them) to pick up a few farm-fresh veggies and I thought I’d give them a chance for breakfast. I’m a migas snob. I’m used to really, really good Mexican food and salsa with a nice kick(grew up in Laredo, Texas). I was impressed. BUT I ordered flour tortillas and found them to be store-bought(hence the 5th star missing). I talked to a few people and they said I needed to try the corn tortillas… as they were handmade. SO…This past weekend I had my kids with me after running a 5K and I had a hankering for migas again. This time I ordered the corn tortillas and they were fantastic. They have 3 different kinds of salsa, red(mild), green(medium) and orange/red(hot). They aren’t kidding with the spice either. Good heat. The kids both has a BLT w/eggs and they didn’t leave a crumb on their plate. I’ll be back. I need to try them for dinner. See how they can tackle the other thing I’m a snob about… fajitas.

I went through the drive-thru this morning at El Roble and I must say I was impressed with my breakfast tacos. Being of Mexican descent and, most importantly, not from Austin, I know what a good breakfast taco is! I had been a fan of Los Vega, but I hadn’t been there in a few months. I drove by awhile back and I saw that they had closed. I decided I would try the new place out and the lady in the window taking orders is the same lady who has been there for quite a few years. I ordered two migas a la mexicanas tacos and one barbacoa taco on a corn tortilla. Both the corn and flour tortillas were homemade to perfection! The migas tacos were great with a generous amount of cheese. The barbacoa was lean and not drenched in grease like you will find at most places. They also had three different salsas: red, green, and orange(in order of spiciness). The green sauce is amazing… great consistency and taste. Just based on my order, I am lead to believe that most of the menu items and ingredients are the same as Los Vega. Most notably, their migas tacos contain tortilla chips, just like Los Vega had. I know that’s a lazy shortcut, but it works for their taco. I would like to see them just fry the corn tortilla pieces, but no big deal for me. I can’t speak on dine-in service or their entire menu, but I will revise my review when I get the opportunity to grab lunch or dinner. Based on breakfast, however, this place reminds me of what Los Vega used to be and should have been if there quality and attention to detail was sustained. Unfortunately, they suffered for their final couple of years, because of a lack of quality that was probably based on competing with the three big local chain Tex-Mex restaurants, who have a more visible and accessible location. I promise you the small hassle(if you aren’t familiar with the location) of finding this spot is well worth your time and money.

Great food, plus drive-thru! The horchatas are huge! Nothing special, but still good. And the price is good especially with all the food you get. We normally go to Garcia’s nearby, but we tried this place this morning after seeing a long line at the drive-thru once. We thought, «the food must be good!» The breakfast tacos tasted good, but there were egg shells in them :/

This place used to be Los Vega. Now it’s under new ownership and food is very good. I went to have breakfast this morning and had the«Mexican» omelet that came with bacon, potatoes, and refried beans. I also ordered a side order of chorizo. Best of all was the homemade flour tortillas. A good restaurant has to have homemade tortillas. Green salsa was also excellent. Will be back to try lunch and dinner plates.
