I’ve been shopping here for a couple years and although the employees are super friendly and helpful, the line at the check out is always extremely long. There’s very seldom another cashier to help out and almost always quite a few roll tainers in the aisles blocking the merchandise. I’ve had to step away from my child in the shopping cart to move or maneuver something to get what I need from the shelf. I have stopped in here for a while to avoid the lines and crowds at HEB, but have to admit that recently I have been going to Walgreens instead to avoid frustration.

I took my 7 year old daughter with me to Dollar General today to purchase supplies for a party. It was busy as always, and there was only one cashier, as always. As we check out we notice that the floor is soaking wet. The water starts where the line for the register ends. My daughter was standing very close to me. My daughter slips and falls. I was upset and yelled out for someone to clean this up. A customer had a mop and bucket. The cashier stays behind the register, continuing to check people out, not once asking if she was okay. I explained how this situation was very dangerous and I am glad my daughter was okay. This could have been an elderly person, I could have been holding my infant child. Safety should come first! A water puddle is an emergency, this is a priority. Customers shouldn’t have to fall down, customers should not have to mop for a business. This store does not have sufficient staff. I WILLNEVER shop here again! I am ashamed to give them a star, I have to to submit a review.

Dollar General is your Winn’s Dimestore of yesteryear, combined with a little bit of Hobby Lobby and a little bit of Walmart. It is not so overhwhelming where you are walking a football field or two — to find anything. It is small and quaint and the staff is friendly and helpful.
