I really like this place. Good food. Nice wait staff. If they could only try to get this last thing corrected… it would be a home run! Ordering when I’m in the Tavern is a piece of cake. Ordering a meal over the phone ‘to go’ is a nightmare. There is a very nice guy taking the ‘To Go’ orders that is not familiar with the menu. I explained this to a waitress and she suggested that ‘…the next time you want take out ask for a server(instead of the take out guy). ’ I called… and asked for a server… and was put through to the gentleman at the Take Out section. Frustrating. Please make this minor change guys. I want to give you 5 stars…

The beer is worth the drive alone! We meet up here a few times a year and have yet to be disappointed. This last trip I ordered wings and a salad — I could finish either one. The wings were crispy and had a substantial amount of meat on them. The salad wasn’t something out of a bag, it was fresh/crisp. Would recommend the wings again or the burgers are also very good.

We’ve had nothing but positive experiences at the Kutztown Tavern. The food is a bit on the high end of the budget, but it’s always tasty and the drink selection is solid. We recently hosted a meeting for the Fresh Air Fund( ) and they allowed us to use the Club Room. It was a beautiful brick room with its own bar and bathroom. It comfortably seated 25 of us, although it can hold up to 32. Very quiet with the door closed and they have a high-tech overhead projection system that you can connect with your laptop for presentations. It was a perfect setting for our annual meeting. Our server, Beth, did a phenomenal job keeping up with our drinks, food orders and was just a real pleasure to have around through our meeting. The food came out incredibly fast and was tasty as always. She even ended our night with each table getting a cupful of mints– a cute touch! We will definitely continue to support the Kutztown Tavern in any way we can!

The food is surprisingly fantastic. I might even venture to say the best in town. There is a wide array of beer to sample from and their micro-brewery is off the chain. The staff is nice and courteous. If not for the fact that the date I was on when I ate there was terrible, I would have had one of the best dining experiences in years. The Tavern gets 4 out of 5 stars; the date, however, only gets 2(she was incredibly attractive, but her personality was lacking).

Burger seemed to be perfect shape which for me indicates it’s frozen meat. :(there was also something floating in my wine. The server was rarely there didn’t seem to care and forgot we even ordered our drinks

Absolutely wonderful! Our server Sarah was quick, delightful, and we would absolutely request to have her again! As for the food, bring stretchy pants! You’re going to want to try everything like we did. Simply put, great service, great food, definitely coming again!

Good variety of beer that is brewed there, blueberry lager is delicious. Good food and nice staff. A very nice size bar and restaurant, never had to wait for a seat. Clean and comfortable feeling.

Trying to be high-end, but really somewhere I the middle. No doubt this is a «nice» restaurant, but it misses the mark on a lot of things. The food is expensive! And for some dishes rightly-so, but I’ve definitely felt ripped off several times. Loses a star for the pricing. The service is mostly atrocious. Waitresses with no personality. Mistakes happen frequently and their methods of fixing them isn’t great. I have waited incredible amounts of time for both service and food. Loses the other star here. Parking can be complete crap. A few positives: 1) It’s a microbrew, so there’s lots of good beer on hand. 2) Easily accommodates large parties, which isn’t common in this town. 3) Burgers are some of the best in town. 4) The crab dip is amazing. 5) Food is good — if you can afford it.

The food is actually pretty good here, but when it’s busy you can’t hear yourself think it is so loud. Also, they stopped giving out bread with your meal, they had amazing bread! Lunch is better as far as how loud it is, we won’t come for dinner anymore. I do like the Blonde Lager as a craft beer too.

The food is excellent. Seafood bisque is a favorite. Some servers need more training on a micro beer place like this. They have no clue to helping choose a beer. Been here four times Learn the tavern before being a server. Pricing on salads are little pricey for this area. Otherwise the food is 5 star.

Kutztown Tavern has improved big time since I last wrote. I’m not a beer aficionado but I do like good food. I rarely eat meat, but when I’m feeling carnivorous I love their brisket or flat iron steak ciabatta sandwiches. Tender marinated meat, fresh breads, excellent bbq sauce on brisket and lots of bleu cheese on the flat iron… Great efficient table service, too!

Stopped here for dinner with a couple friends. Three stars on the food and four for the beer selection. At first, the smell of the hops was overwhelming — but you get used to it as the night goes on. Had a Donner Weiss — I would definitely recommend if you are a hoegarden fan. Even better! We split three meals to try each. The burger with onions and Swiss won. The flavor was there without being greasy. The buffalo chicken sandwich with bacon was good too. All the ingredients went together well. Last and certainly least was the Tuscan salad. Everything was salty and seemed canned. The salad was far from fresh and the garlic balsamic dressing was too thick. Stick with a burger and the beer and you will be good!

Get the meatloaf. Bring a friend or two because you ain’t gonna finish it by yourself! Seriously. This place is pretty cool. We stopped in for a late lunch one day and had good service and the food was great. Prices are reasonable. Sister got the chili fries or some such thing and they were tasty. The berry iced tea was good. Did I mention the meat loaf? Good gohd!

All in all, I have to say I like this place. I’ve been here a few times over the last few years and everything is very consistent. While their food skews towards the expensive side, keep in mind that almost all their offerings have hearty portions and are for the most part worth the money. I personally have never had a bad meal here; perhaps not an amazing meal, but all were good meals. In terms of their beer I will admit that there are better offerings out there, but most of their brews are worth a shot. Recently I had the Dunkel Dutch, which according to their menu is entirely made from Pennsylvania grown ingredients. I can certainly get behind locally sourced beers if they choose to make more of them. The beer itself was a little rougher on the palate than a dunkel typically is, but the taste was on par with expectations. A glass will run you five dollars, so it’s not outrageous for craft beer either. This is probably your best sit-down dining venue in Kutztown in terms of value, ambiance and diversity in food and drink. It might not always ‘wow’ you, but it will always leave you satisfied.

Convenient location with a very nice interior. They brew their own beer in house and have about 10 different selections. The menu is extensive, so you will probably find something to please everyone in your party. Our service was very good. The food was well presented, though nothing special, and a bit overpriced. It’s one of the best dinner places in town.

This tavern is far from me so this was a special trip out there with my parents, but it was a great experience. I love micro-brews and their sandwiches were out of this world. To top it all off I got a cinnamon sugar pretzel filled with cream cheese and ended up taking the leftovers home because it was just too good to sacfrice to the trash.

The beer selection pushes the K’Tavern to 4.5*. The burgers and fries were solid but the pizza was a lil’ greasy. Nicole our server was excellent — Sam Lou Mitch and Me
