WOW, they must have changed owners. The menu is different and the food is fast, hot, and good! The interior has been a little spruced up, needed improvement. Catfish snack is 4 oz fish and your choice of hush puppies, cole slaw or fries. I am sorry they don’t let you sub greens anymore.

Most Penn’s sell the same thing and this Penn’s is up to the standard. If you like fried seafood or fish this is your place to go. I don’t eat fish but the chicken on a stick is the one I get most. The appetizers that I like are the fried green tomatoes and their fried mushrooms. Service is fast and friendly. Even if you order from the drive up window there is not a long wait.

Hot fresh and delicious catfish and shrimp. The turnip greens and hush puppies were spot on! Fast and friendly service

Food excellent as always but took forever to get our food and the order was wrong. Ordered fries and then told it didn’t come with my order BUT it was not due to my miscommunication… it was due to the employee taking the order incorrectly. After waiting 20 minutes I should have at least gotten the fries I ordered.

First the map placement is way off. Penn’s is not on the Trace it is on 35. When they say they are not a fast food restaurant they are not kidding. I got there about 2:30 and the place was almost empty. It took nearly 20 minutes to get my order. It’s basically a fish place but I ordered the fried chicken livers in honor of my mother-in law who loved them. They were a bit over done but I got the liver jolt I was looking for. Slaw is good. It is a chain so I’m looking forward to checking it out in Philadelphia. I’m not sure I’ll be going back.

We stumbled onto Penn’s while looking for another restaurant in the area. We decided to forego the restaurant we were looking for and eat at Penn’s for two reasons. The parking lot at the unnamed restaurant was virtually empty but there were plenty of cars in the lot at Penn’s and cars were lined up in the drive-thru. That was enough to change our minds and turn the Jeep around. Penn’s has a lot of deep fried food on the menu but they also have some grilled items. We both opted for a new menu item which was the Pasta, Shrimp and Crawfish which was served with a small salad and your choice of a Dinner Roll or 3 Hush Puppies. We also ordered the Fried Green Bean appetizer with Ranch Dressing. The only way these could have been better would have been if they had a little heat. My understanding is I could have had that had I ordered them with the Come Back Dressing instead of the Ranch. The other name for the Come Back Dressing is Cajun Ranch. Who knew? The Dinner Roll was tasty but average while the Hush Puppies were lightly battered with a nice flavor and didn’t settle in your stomach like rocks. You noticed that I saved the best for last. The Pasta, Shrimp & Crawfish was, in a word, awesome! If I knew that everyone reading this was from Boston I’d say it was«wicked awesome» but some of you may not understand the full meaning of that phrase. ;) Let’s just say that you get a little Pasta with your Shrimp & Crawfish and the whole thing is smothered in this wonderful cream sauce that has just enough heat in it to keep my wife commenting about how good it was even thought she doesn’t usually like any heat in her food at all. Penn’s is good food at a great value. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly.

Well… it’s one of those places … Where you eat… and food is good… not great… but it’s the housekeeping that gets ya… dirty is the only way to say it… the blinds at the window by our table were awful… and I think we could have planted something in the dust in the window… bathroom needed attention too… which can only make you wonder how does the kitchen look? So… dirt is what gives it my two star rating!
