For the two of us, we found the size of our condo a bit excessive. B-Dub and I had a large one bedroom with king bed(albeit not a very comfortable one) and two full bathrooms(one shower with good water pressure, the other was better suited for bathing). Plus a full and well equipped kitchen, lounge room, dining area, in-suite laundry and lanai. We booked online through Expedia, so air conditioning was included and we secured a great rate. The 4pm check in time was a bit of a pain, but we tried our luck at 3 and were able to get into our room at that time. Wifi was painfully slow to the point where it dropped out most of the time. The quiet pool was appreciated, although it could have been monitored a bit better, as there was a party of 3 families in the upper deck area on the second night. Other than that, the entire resort was mostly quiet when we went(mid Dec) and we could always find a pool or jacuzzi to have to ourselves. Would definitely look at staying here again next time we’re in the area.

A year ago this place would have gotten 4 stars(except for the construction noise), but a year has done a lot of damage. So here’s the run down: First of all the 2 dollar signs in the title is incorrect. Two dollar signs gives you the impression it’s inexpensive. $ 200 a night is not inexpensive(at least to me). Parking. I hope you have a tiny car. Parking is inadequate at best. The place is always packed and if you park in the end spaces, the landscaping wall will block you from opening your door. Extras. When it’s 90 degrees outside, I don’t consider air conditioning an extra. Last year it was included. This year it costs $ 8.75 a day. There is also a $ 4.75 daily ‘use tax’ that they didn’t have last year. Basic free internet but it’s incredibly slow-to-nonexistent. The upgrade costs $ 10 a day. Since when did high speed internet cost $ 300 a month? I guess they have to pay for the construction work they did last year somehow. Inside. The carpets are dirty. The tile kitchen countertops are stained and grubby. An impertinent cockroach greeted us on the same countertop. The ice maker doesn’t work. The stovetop needs to be scrubbed clean of the previous user’s meals. The shower has two temperatures; cold and slightly too hot. The bathroom fixtures are rusty or corroded. Dirt in the corners and tile edges. The furniture in this unit is beginning to show dirt and wear. The view. I put this in because others have raved about the view. My view is of the neighboring apartment, as it was last year. Only a few buildings have that grand ocean view. And there are a LOT of buildings in this complex. I won’t stay here again, and we come to Hawaii every year. This place is much cheaper if you book it through Expedia or Orbitz. We bought a 10 day stay directly from Kona Resorts/Wyndham so they treat it as a timeshare and include nothing — like a/c. Big mistake for us.
