My boyfriend and I stopped in today for our first time. He ordered a half rack of ribs and cleaned his plate with a smile!(He believes and has been told by many that he makes the best ribs, so his expectations are high and have been met maybe twice.) Corn soufflé and steak salad were great! The Kokomonster was delicious and will be a regular drink at our household. The main reason I’m giving 5 starts is the service. There were a couple issues with our ticket/food. My boyfriend and I aren’t the type to complain, so we were very surprised that the waitress and manager did so much to ensure we left happy! We don’t get that kind of friendly service often, the manager was warm and kind the second we walked in the door! All in all, a great experience and we will be back.

We’ve definitely had better. The first impression was soured by the bad odor in the restaurant. To me it smelled like pet food, but I’m assuming it was attributed to brewing beer? There were 2 of us and we were seated in the middle of the dining area at a table for 6. Not sure why, when there were plenty of booths available. I had the choose three BBQ dinner. Food was ok, except for the brisket, which my wife got as her full dinner. It was really fatty. So much so, that half our helpings were left on the plate because it was fat. Also, it appeared not to be brisket at all. We both thought it was a roast, by the way it was cut. Not in the usual strips, but it flaked apart like a roast in the slow cooker.

Had the great luck to sit at the bar with Kent and to be served by Kelly — that was wonderful in itself after a long day’s drive — the beers and Whitefish dinner topped it all off for a great combo — a return visit on my back through!

Mmmmmm! Half Moon is one of my favorites in Kokomo. The BBQ ribs are to DIE for! Their BBQ baked beans are always so creamy and so good. Never want to leave when I get to go!

My husband and I have enjoyed their beer at various tasting events. We stopped by for dinner on the way home after the funeral of a dear friend. We wanted beer, quick service, and good food; the kids(5&8) wanted to be able to talk and wiggle after being still and good for most of the day. We arrived at about 5:30 and were seated quickly. Round 1: raspberry wheat for me and Cole Porter for Hubs. Nachos with pulled pork for everyone. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was noisy enough to not have to worry about the kids talking too loudly, but so loud that we couldn’t hear each other. Round 2: the brew rolls with cinnamon butter were warm, soft and delicious! Dinner: I ordered bourbon chicken. The sauce and peppers were delicious, but the chicken was a little dry. Daughter had her standard cheeseburger and fries and was pumped to learn that the kids’ meal options come with a cookie. Hubs and son had ribs. They shared with me. The meat was moist and tender, the sauce was flavorful and well-balanced(not too sweet or too thick). I noticed later that there are banners for Best Ribs all over… Probably should’ve considered that when I ordered… Dessert Beer: IPA and the Stoplight Red. I’m not an IPA gal, but the Hubs loves IPAs and was impressed that it was so smooth for 87 IBUs. My Red was excellent. Overall, the service, beer, bread, and ribs were excellent. Nachos were good. I don’t think I’ll order bourbon chicken again, but we’ll definitely go back. There were people waiting for a table as we left — at about 7 on a Monday night.

This place was legit! Huge portions and awesome appetizers. We had the pretzel breadsticks and fried pickles. I would have preferred pickle chips, but the spears were still good. I wish I would have been able to try some of the brews, but I was technically on the clock.

Not the place to go if you are looking for a light meal because the portion sizes are huge… But the food is really tasty! Great apps and burgers, but the surprise home run is the barbeque(especially the brisket). Never expected to find good BBQ in central Indiana, but Half Moon Brewery’s got it! And the prices are very fair! One of our favorite joints in town!

We’ve eaten here as a couple and as a family. It’s a solidly good meal. The steak was good, except for a little too much pepper, says my daughter. The other fare at our table was the standard chicken finger sort of stuff prepared and served in the usual way. The burger I ordered was also good. Their chips are especially notable. This is a brewery – and we didn’t drink any beer – so I cannot attest to the beverages, but the service was prompt and professional, they served pretty good food, and it offers a nice – fun and a little quirky – atmosphere. Of special note, my kids liked feeling like they were in a BAR. I give it 3.5 stars. We will return to Half Moon – probably when beer-drinking friends come to visit.

Love the milf-n-honey wheat! I’ve been here three times during June and have enjoyed the food each time. The menu is quite extensive – lots of appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. They have a variety of specials. On Mondays, they have great burgers for a great price – I had one yesterday.. . totally delicious and so affordable! I know they have Taco Tuesday; however, I haven’t eaten their tacos so I cannot comment on them. They DO have good cole slaw and pub chips.

Half moon offers a wide variety of brews but I enjoy the guilty pleasure of the fish and chips. Also, they offer the best fried dill pickles.

The only reason that this is a Four Star review is because of the slow service when we first got there. Other than that the food was great, after the beginning the service was great, and the atmosphere was just awesome. The only bad part of the food was the beer cheese. It left a gritty taste in my mouth that I just didn’t like. The bathrooms also made up for it.

Im giving 4 stars only because of the beer I had! Delicious ipa! But the food I had… definitely not my favorite.. Im not from this area so im sure maybe its just a taste thing for me. I had a ruben. It was the worst one I have ever had. But however my sister got a petite steak and it was pretty petite but she said it was very good! So if you’re in town in my opinion just stick to the beer. but overall its a cool atmosphere and has a pretty large American food selection.

not such a great experience this visit. ordered brisket and pulled pork. pork good. brisket not so much. perhaps it’s because i just returned from a trip to houston where they have kick ass brisket. anyway. the beer is good. service is mediocre. but for kokomo its ok.

We were in Kokomo for a funeral and it’s hard to find a restaurant there that’s not a chain. So we came was busy but we didn’t have to wait for a table. Lots of t.v.s and some booths. We attempted to order drinks, when I asked what kind of wine they had our waitress said I know we have a cab but she didn’t want to go get a wine list for me. She suggested a margherita and assured me it wasn’t a prepaid mix. It was terrible, very sour. I didn’t drink it and she saw that and never asked me why I didn’t drink it. They have a very good beer selection so my husband at least had a good drink. We ordered steaks, I had a delmonico and he had sirloin. They looked and tasted exactly the same, no flavor, Sides were cold. Not our best meal. I heard from friends if you stick to their bar menu and beer it’s good.

Wanted to have a good steak w my husband and like to avoid the big chain steakhouse s so tried this. I ordered flat iron med rare and he had NY strip med well. Mine came out rare and cold and his was med rare at best. Sent them back and instead if taking our entire plate the girl flops them on a butter plate and leaves our potatoes. They come back basically the SAME and my husband has blood all over his plate from cutting into it and is grossed out. Back again they go. but I tell her to take the potatoes too which r cold by now. The come back ok finally but since they have been cut into so much of course they aren’t juicy snymore. Couldn’t they make usa NEW steak? Never again will we go there. Plus I has to ask another waitress to clear our app dishes ect . .

I was staying in Kokomo for a deposition nearby in Logansport. I decided to try out Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery based on the reviews on Unilocal. I had a glass of the Moon Beam IPA and Wildcat wheat. I also had the full plate of brisket, along with baked beans and cottage cheese. The brisket was tender if not a little fatty. The Moon Beam IPA was excellent. I would go again.
