Clean, well kept fitness center. Has everything you need for a great workout and swim. Friendly and professional staff.

If you are looking for a sexy hook up gym this is NOT the place for you. The downtown Y is an extremely friendly family oriented health and fitness center. Most anyone is welcome and will feel comfortable. I attend the yoga classes there and am extremely pleased with the amazing teachers. The yoga room was recently renovated and is very nice. The only downside to this facility is the parking. I do not mind paying $ 1.00 for two hours however, if the lot adjacent to the main entrance is full finding a spot in a parking garage is a bit of a pain.

The best kept secret in Knoxville. This a full service gym. Basketball, racquetball, fitness classes from Zumba to step, swimming and yoga. More high end features of the fitness facility exclude sauna, steam room as well as other services offered like message and there is a chiropractor as well. There are fitness trainers as well who are personable and friendly. The facility is clean is constantly being renovated to stay on par with other fitness facilities.

Great deal… I stay at the Holiday Inn across the street often on business and love going to this Y. It’s clean, well equipped and has a newly renovated steam bath. They charge just $ 6.00 if you’re a guest at the Holiday Inn.

This YMCA is fantastic. Traveling for business makes it hard to get a good lift in so it always helps to have a gym nearby let alone walking distance! :) the place looks exactly like what it is, out of the early 1900s but they’ve renovated it to include multiple floors of solid fitness equipment. I love the top floor w functional equipment such as giant tires, battle ropes, and gymnastic rings. This place has it all whether you enjoy machines, free weights, or functional equipment. There’s no excuse to not meet your fitness goals if you go here.

This is the only Y in town that has towel service, which is really nice for the downtown Y crowd. The pool is a little short (less than the 40 yards that they say), but it’s still a pretty nice feature.
Some of the equipment gets a lot of wear, but they have everything you would want or expect.
They have free coffee for coffee drinkers and free wifi, a pool table and decent space to chill before or after a workout.
The only thing keeping this from being a 5-​star establishment are the impossible amenities like a juice bar, better coffee service, better magazines and perfectly polite members.
As it stands, this Y is still the best deal going as far as workout facilities are concerned, and it’s like my home away from home.

I absolutely love the Y. The price is just right. They have great equipment, facilities, and staff. The place is Los out very well. Cardio and weight machines have their own area in the upper floor, while the free weights and dumbbells are each I’m their own zone as well.
The place is always very clean and the rates are great. They also have a very nice indoor pool and a steam room and sauna.
Another great perk is that classes are include in the membership price. They have spin, yoga, Pilates, abs, etc.
It may not have as much flash as the Rush, but that’s what draws me to it. It’s a great gym and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
