Our family of 4 had a great time. We needed more people to help with the clues. This is definitely a game where ‘the more, the merrier’. Our 10 year old got a little frustrated and bored but I think if we had more people to help solve the clues, he would have been more entertained. We all had a great time and will be doing it again.

Was still fun but in comparison to other escape games I’ve played this one seemed mediocre. The props seemed very basic. And the room we played was 90% word puzzles and such rather than physically searching for keys and clues. Also some of the answers were very arbitrary and unclear. He instructions also were very confusing to the point it would take far too long to answer them. I feel this game could benefit by doing more test runs and seeing what needs to be corrected to make the game more fun and functional.

What’s in a name? In Which Way Out’s case, EVERYTHING! The name speaks for itself. It’s a cool new spot in town that puts your problem solving skills to the test! We were part of a test group just before they opened, and I eagerly anticipated trying it out. There were some kinks that we helped iron out, and by the time you read this, they’ll have the game locked down tight. The concept? It’s pretty simple. You enter a room, and you’re given an hour to solve all the puzzles in the room, leading to a combination on the door, to let yourself out. One thing that seemed to be an issue with people was the idea that they were stuck in a room for an hour. Just so you know, that if you panic or get claustrophobic, there’s a key that you can use to let yourself out if you really needed it. That said, stay in the game. Work the puzzles, and find your way out. It’s tough and entertaining all the way through. Which Way out is great as an individual jumping into a new group of people, or as a team building experience with work or social group friends, and I’d highly recommend it. Unlocking each step of the puzzle is exciting and makes you antsy to dig farther into the game. I don’t know that I’d take small kids to this because it requires a great deal of attention, which small kids can’t handle. I took my 14 year old, and he was a HUGE help, and we advanced through several of the clues with his help. Regardless, small and medium sized groups can have a really great time working the room, and I’d highly recommend trying it out!

America’s craze of a spin off of Saw has landed in Knoxville. I luckily got the chance to scope this place out so maybe I can offer those who are interested in doing it have an idea of what it was like and what it’s going to be like. Of course, as all beta-testing goes, there’s always going to be bugs and hiccups and this place wasn’t perfect but they’re on the way to perfecting it before they open. So, be sure that it’ll be definitely fun and you and your group will be able to solve it. I guess the main question is: «how does it work?» Which Way Out currently has two rooms and they’re planning a third. Each room has a specific subject or story as the one that our group tried out was the Casino Heist. They put you in a room, give you a background story, lock the door, and let you go at it. The goal is to escape the room, obviously. And in the process solve the theme of the room, in this case find money that was stashed there. This activity is great for groups of friends. Also, another great idea for this place is for work groups to build team building. I think if businesses wanted to bring a group of people together for a fun activity, this could definitely be on that list. I’m sure Which Way Out will be riding the mystery wave for a while. So check this place out when it opens!

This is a bit of a premature review, some Unilocalers were guinea pigs for this venture in return for a little feedback for the owners. I had never heard of an escape room before doing this, so I’m sure I’m not the target audience for this. Our game was based on a simulated heist from a Vegas in casino. You enter into a room and are given one hour to find and put together all the clues to find the money. Looks like there will be three rooms each with a different theme. If you enjoy the game if Clue, then you’ll love this experience.
