Ut Federal Credit Union

While I do appreciate the speedy, and friendly customer service at UT Federal Credit Union, this place has some serious problems to solve in regards to their ATMs. I drove to TWO locations at 5:30 am this morning — one on White Avenue at UT, and the one off of Kingston Pike, in West Knoxville (almost all the way to Farragut) — I live in South Knoxville, so it’s kind of a hassle. BOTH ATMs were down. The one at UT was simply just out of order, and the one in West Knoxville was out of envelopes. Now, with the one at UT, a member can make a deposit at the ATM WITHOUT an envelope, however, if one is at the West location, and the machine is out of envelopes, because the staff has not bothered to check to see if it is full, then the customer is screwed. My current job demands that I work during normal banking hours, so having the convenience of making a deposit at an ATM is extremely useful. I would honestly say that in my experience, at least 40% of the time, one of this UTFCU’s ATM machines are unavailable — that’s inexcusable. Get it together people.

I have had an account with them for about 12 years now. I love it! The online banking is so easy as well as the tele-​trans banking. Everyone at the main White Avenue location is super friendly and make running in to the bank fast and painless. My favorite part about it is that my money is available almost immediately when I put it in my account. There is no waiting all weekend until Tuesday to have everything hit at once.

Originally opened account with UT Federal 5 years ago because I was a student in Knoxville and needed a good bank in the area. Great service UNTIL I joined the military and deployed overseas. Charges for wiring money and conducting changes over the phone??? Literally was calling from a satellite phone in Afghanistan and was charged for moving money from checking to savings?! Tried to do the online banking with them and the constantly changing log in authentications, confusion of construction, and the unsure feeling of «did my money change hands» was mind boggling. Best part even though I had told them I only use my cell phone they continually called my parents house for all bank business and because of this I had no notification that after I closed my accounts with them that I still had a overdraft fee for 60 dollars on the accounts? First notification in writing for this was from a 3^rd party debt collector?!
