Neat place. The bartender is a cool chic and was mixing drinks like a whippersnapper. Man, I have to order one next time. She gave me all the wine samples I asked for until I committed to my glass. What more do you want from your watering hole, right? They understand tapas here. And the food is actually pretty good. We ordered petit basque from the cheese menu and the accompanying crostini was delicious! I mean, don’t come in expecting fancy authentic Rioja tapas or anything. But c’mon, the baguette bread was so soft and sliced with butter-laden thickness it did justice to the dish. Very good! The cheese also came with nuts and apple, but I wonder where the honey went? A miss, I suppose. Also, they didn’t have any specials or happy hour going on. Hmmm. Bummer. Well, the salami from charcuterie menu was fresh and tasted great, and was served with cornichons. Love! The crostini de fungi was served warm with cheese and oil that was just the right portion. Overall, I’m really pleased with the noshes here. Red Piano is more fitting for the sliver crowd in my book and it has a neat and tidy feel. In a good way. To enter you walk from the unassuming door on the strip mall then head downstairs into the underground which gives a real speakeasy vibe. But this place is so wide and open with clean lines and modern fixtures it’s refreshing. The night we came the musicians were great but some of the singers were a bit weak, Not to be harsh, but I mean an amateur sings for love of the music, right?!
