Mortgage Investors Group

I have nothing but good things to say about Mortgage Investors Group (MIG). I have heard nothing but good things about MIG from realtors and individuals who have used them. Bottom line is that if you are thinking about buying/​refinancing– use them.
They are a Knoxville based company but have many locations across the state of Tennessee. A big positive is that they do their own underwriting in house so their loan officers are very familiar with the underwriting requirements. They have access to lots of different loan programs to suit individual needs and for the last ten years, they have been the biggest lender for Tennessee Hosung Development Agency
My experience. I had been «pre-​approved» by a different company and that loan officer did not even ask for tax records, pay stubs or anything. Just «pre-​approved» me based on what I told him my income was and a credit review. I figured that was not a good sign and went looking for something better. I mean, who wants to be deined a loan two weeks to closing because of an incompetent loan officer?
I worked with Jennifer Torgeson «JT» the branch manager at the MIG Walker Springs location. She has worked there for over a decade and it was easy to see she loved her job. She anticipated everything I needed and explained the different loan options to me. I had gone in expecting to go the FHA route but once she put all the numbers down on paper, it was really easy to see the conventional route was best for my situation. Underwriting was a breeze and they only came back with the condition of a satisfactory appraisal. JT’s team, including Missy and Ashley were also a pleasure to work with. MIG has a ton of loan officers and while I wholeheartedly recommend JT, I am sure that they are all very good at what they do.
Can’t say enough good things about my experience. Being a first home buyer, I was very nervous but it was a breeze. They got my loan ready to close 24 days after my application and I was able to close earlier than the contract closing day. I personally won’t bother shopping around. They had really competitive rates and fees. It was such a great experience and I would be happy to answer any questions about my experience to potential home buyers!
