Modeste Nails And Spa

The polish is so uneven and thick that it looks like a two year old painted my nails. They even managed to get it all over my skin and nicked me several times. Not worth $ 5 let alone $ 30 and now I’m going to have to pay someone else just to take it off.

I went here due to a nail mishap on my wedding day and I just had to come back! These people are so sweet, not to mention they actually cut my nails the length that I want. Definitely recommend people to go here!

Preface: I’ve never had a professional pedicure before coming here, but found myself in fast need of better looking toes before an event later that evening and I wasn’t going to have the usual amount of time it takes me to do it myself. I was nervous about going anywhere so I consulted Unilocal for reviews. At the time, this was the only 5 star rated place in Ktown that had more than 1 review, so I took a chance (frankly the latest negative review sounds odd for this place, sorta wonder if they got the right salon? Hope not because I like it here).
Anyway, bottom line: Overall I’m glad I came here, and I can see myself going back here after my apartment move for some much needed care.
Details for those that care: I didn’t have an appt but it was about 3pm on a Thursday and they were able to accommodate me immediately. I wish I would have made a note of her name, but a nice lady invited me to pick out a color and come over to the pedicure chair. The basin was lined in removable plastic, so you’re not touching the same surface as others. I also saw her go get the trimming implements from a fresh autoclave bag and that made me feel better about safety. I was impressed with how thorough the basic pedicure was, from the amount of time in the water, to the leg massage that was just right pressure for my sensitive legs, to the extremely detailed trimming of my nails, then to the polish application where she followed along and caught any polish strokes that migrated onto my skin. I have what I consider less than ideal toenails, the big one is square shaped and the surface is terribly curved, to the point I have always been in fear of ingrown toenails but have never had them, and my pinkie toe barely has any nail at all. She did cut the corners of my nails quite deeply which made for a more attractive shape, but I did worry that could cause problems. So far, 3 weeks later, they felt a bit weird growing out, like a sensation I have never had before, but haven’t had any issues like pain and I’m on my feet a lot lately with moving. Also, the polish still looks perfect, so I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth there. I wasn’t clear on how long to sit and wait for drying time, but after 30 – 40 minutes I needed to leave to get to my event and she helped me put my sandals back on and everything turned out perfectly. I paid $ 28 with a card but made sure to tip her in cash for a job well done.

I don’t even know where to begin. From the fact that the nail tech told me to «hide my thumb» because he left old nail polish on under my French manicure and I was having pictures done the next day to the owner giving me a massage while my nails were drying under lights… did I mention he had his hand down the back of my shirt and fixed my bra strap? Completely unprofessional. Will never return.

Jason and his wife Kelly own this they are from Texas. The salon is very tranquil inside, and very very clean. All equipment works and is brand new… on Monday — Wednesday it’s 10 0/0off.I got the solar pink and white. it is the best nails I have ever had Jason is awesome… my nails still looked beautiful 2 weeks later… it’s a about $ 5 more for solar but so worth it…

Great new salon with nice pedicure chairs. I like the owner and everyone has been nice every time
