Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry

I took my 3-​year-​old for her first cleaning and had a WONDERFUL experience. The office is very kid friendly (toy room, video games, & a kid’s movie on the tv) and the staff was very welcoming. We had a great experience from the moment we walked into the office.
I was a little nervous with it being her first visit, but the dental hygienist was very friendly and did a good job making my daughter feel comfortable! She explained each of the tools she was using and even allowed my daughter to touch all of them before she started cleaning her teeth. My daughter also liked that a tv was on the ceiling above her chair so she could continue watching a movie :) The dentist was also very friendly and explained everything to my daughter in words she would understand.

I should start by saying that the dentist was very nice and my daughter liked him very much. It is such a shame that he is paying his office staff to do such a terrible job. My daughter had her teeth cleaned and the hygienist did not even go over how to brush and floss. When I asked about this, I was told that they assumed that she knew how since she had been to a dentist before. When she returned to have a cavity filled, I was shocked by our co-​pay. They gave my daughter optional treatments that were not covered by our insurance without informing me of the additional cost. The office worker said that I was told of our co-​pay when they verified our appointment. I told her that we never received a call, only a text. Her response was, «Well, you should have been called.» The worse part of the whole experience was trying to discuss it with the office manager. It took seven business days, 3 messages, and me finally telling the receptionist that if I did not receive a call back that I would have to drive back to the office (30 minutes from my house) to speak with the manager. When She finally called me back, her only response to the situation was to tell me that I should have received the call and she was not sure why I didn’t. No offer of a follow up with me about anything. I understand that all businesses and workers have bad days and sometimes things slip through the crack, but the repeated lack of concern for customer satisfaction as well as the lack of concern for resolution makes me question the professionalism of this entire staff. I will never return or recommend to anyone else.
