Miracle workers! My husband’s shoulder was causing constant pain. Even though he has a high pain threshold, it was waking him up and limiting him. Dr. Holloway did a total shoulder replacement the end of June. Within a week he could move more than he had in years. Six weeks after surgery, he took up golf! Within 3 months we would forget he had ever had surgery! Their office is very busy and they can’t spend a lot of time with you sometimes, but he and his nurse answered all of our questions. The office staff always got back to us if we called and were helpful. Dr. Holloway is a wonderful and skilled physician!

Have tried for over 3 weeks to get my husband into this place. We had the records sent over from his previous doctor from another state and was told that the doctors would review to see who wanted to take over the care. Waited for a call back, never received a call. When I called up there, they tell me, «the records have been sent to the doctor and we are just waiting on his reply». I think not. My husband and I will be heading to find another Ortho. Their«hold» message says that they have«compassion» and«care about your needs». What a joke! If that was the case, they would not have played around and made anyone wait 3 weeks to get in to be seen. A torn MCL, severe contusions, nothing makes a difference. When we were finally able to speak with someone and get him an appt, they stated that the earliest that they will have available is still another two weeks away. That is 5 weeks of waiting. Nope. We are done. I don’t recommend this place for anyone!!!

I feel that the way Knoxville Orthopedic/Dr. Maguire’s office is poorly run. Most of the time, you can not talk to a live person, but leave a message besides making an appointment. Sometimes they call you, sometimes they don’t. Dr. Maguire typically rushes into the room, says what he needs to and leaves. He seems in a hurry and doesn’t wait to answer your questions or even ask if you have any questions. I had my husband with me the past few times and my husband thinks he is rude/rushed. Dr. Maguire is cordial, however not very interested in sitting down with you to talk. I don’t appreciate when I’m being rushed by the doctor when it’s an important thing like my spine/pain. If you’re looking for a doctor with great bedside manners and takes the time to listen and explain, go somewhere else. His staff are mostly nice. I haven’t been turned off by any of them individually. I asked for a record 3 days prior and was told they had not received it yet. I then left two messages and finally had to go to the office and wait for the person to talk to before getting the records. Ultimately, she said I couldn’t have the report until the doctor reviewed it and they don’t know when that will be. As a medical professional, I know I have the right to review my records. After back shots I was told to give it time for the shots to work. A month later, I was getting worse. After over 2 months of trying to find out what is going on with my back/legs and going through tests, Dr. Maguire finally had said I probably need to see a neurologist, but would not refer me until after running another test and seeing him for another visit 3 weeks later. I had requested twice to see physical therapy and finally received it. Again, it shouldn’t take me extra effort to get something I probably need or would be beneficial. Needless to say, by this time, I had an appointment for a 2nd opinion and that doctor wondered why he waited so long to get any x-rays or do tests. I had to do the leg work. I have cancelled my next visit and will not go back. If I need to see someone locally, I will change doctors. No one should have to do so much for themselves and work harder than the doctor does.
