KTS costs a little more than other thrift shops, but that’s okay. The quality of the merchandise is generally much, much higher. You don’t usually find clothing, for instance, with the new tag still in it at those other places… because it’s gone out the back door. At KTS, those new items actually make it to the floor and they are in good condition. So is $ 8.00 more than you would usually pay for a shirt at a thrift store, absolutely! But it’s $ 8.00 on a $ 40.00 shirt, which is a huge, huge bargain. Please note: tag-in new items aren’t common. I’m just trying to make a point.

I almost never buy anything here anymore because the prices are ridiculous! I can buy new clothes for less than used things here… I have seen shoes(worn) for $ 10 and shirts for $ 10 or $ 15… WAY over priced

I was back in Knoxville this week and thought I’d swing by here and give it one more chance. I had been in here several times before and only found something once. I don’t remember looking at the prices much the previous times I was there but that was because I never really found anything that I was interested in to even see how much it was. This time I was curious and checked out a lot of the prices on various items. I couldn’t believe the prices I was seeing on most of the items. Items in the same category were priced differently and overall the pricing seemed arbitrary. New items were definitely priced much higher than used items but used items also had high prices. Some of the prices I saw were dresses for $ 19.99, capris $ 14.99 and baby clothes $ 3.99(these were all used items by the way). Definitely not priced as I am used to seeing at thrift stores. There were items in those categories for less(and also more) but this was just a sampling of some items. They have sales but either the sales aren’t that good or even with the sales the items(if you by chance find something) are still too expensive. Unless the prices are drastically reduced I won’t be going back. Also, I realize all the items are there by donation, but I don’t understand why after numerous visits I was only able to find something once. I don’t have that problem at any other thrift store(donation based). Where is all the good stuff?

This place is right next door to my husband’s work office(Legend Exteriors, 9701 Kingston Pike). My husband and his co-workers have had luck every time they go in there. The co-workers got a really nice sofa/loveseat combo and my husband has gotten an ikea desk and even a really cute kitchen bench which we’ve know painted red. But I’ve gone in their a handful of times and haven’t found anything. I’ll keep coming just because you never know what you’ll find.

I happened to notice this KARM thrift store while driving down Kingston Pike one day. Shortly after that my husband and I decided to stop in a look around. Compared to my previous experience with KARM(on Kingston) this one is better by leaps and bounds. One, it’s much larger. Two, because it’s much larger there is a better selection. Three, it’s a little pricey. We were looking around the housewares and found the plates, etc to be a little overpriced. But on the other hand, they had a lot of partial/complete sets.
