My wife and I stopped here(01/31/2016) to eat lunch on the way home from Gatlinburg, TN. We read some of the reviews and thought that it would be a treat for us, we’re we surprised to the contrary. This place was not very clean looking and the food made me and my wife sick all night long. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Worst dining experience I’ve ever had!

From the buffet or off of the menu, the food here is delicious. Bombay Palace is just about our favorite restaurant in town. The buffet is consistently good. The menu has a great variety of dishes, and the flavors are amazing. My husband’s favorite is the lamb biryani. My son loves the aloo saag(or any saag dish). I don’t think I have a personal favorite, I love it all. The service is always great, drinks always refilled, etc. Anyway, I always eat too much when I come here since it’s soooo good.

Excellent dinner choice that is not a chain restaurant in TN! We stopped here for dinner traveling and wanted somewhere to sit down and relax for a bit. The service was polite and attentive. They served our food in a timely fashion. The prices were fair and the menu proved to be authentic Indian cuisine. The bathrooms were a disaster but it was a Saturday night. The rest of the facilities are not the newest. However we didn’t care not notice too much of that. The food itself was definitely worth the stop. It was fabulous, hot, and the naan was fresh. It was so nice to have a place that was not a chain to dine in. We would definitely keep this as a regular Indian restaurant if we lived in the area!

THEBESTINDIANRESTAURANTINTENNESSEE The food and service here is amazing Robbie treats all his customers like friends and family. They take time to explain the dishes to novice Indian diners, so you know what your getting. The curries are great the naan breads are Amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone who Likes a little spice in their life.

Being an Indian and knowing various Indian Cuisines very well following are my comments and recommendation based on my experience: After a long time and traveling a lot across US I can say this is one of the Best Indian restaurants with North Indian Touch in the dishes. Naan are very good and other curries are great. Menu options are great. Ambience is alright. Most importantly I judge the skills based on the quality of Biryani an Indian Chef can make and glad to say that Me and my family loved the vegetable Biryani which is so different and yet very authentic. Chef is doing a great job here. Do try the Biryani along with other curries that you order !!! A big thumbs up to the quality of food and quality of service. Keep it up.

We’ve eaten here three times over the past year as we’ve traveled through Knoxville. The first time was on the suggestion of a friend and the next two times because it’s one of the finest Indian restaurants we’ve found in Chattanooga, Knoxville, or Atlanta. The first two times we ordered different things and most recently we arrived on Sunday when they have a buffet. Though we generally don’t eat at buffets because my wife and I tend to overeat, this last time gave us a sampling of all the things we might not have ordered otherwise. EVERYTHING we have previously ordered and everything on the buffet has been delicious. Their naans are particularly wonderful. Also, the staff has been top notch. The only thing I can’t recommend were the rice pudding and vanilla custard on the buffet. I found them mediocre and not anywhere near the greatness of everything else. If Bombay Palace were to open up a restaurant in Chattanooga, I’m confident they would put some of the established places out of business.(Hint, hint.)

Even though I don’t think they lived up to their reputation, I really loved the food. I thought it was wonderful that the waiter asked the level of spicy and included spicy versus Indian spicy. He wasn’t being a jerk, but knows that the spice level is different. I ended up with just spicy and it was perfect for me! Everyone working there makes sure that you are enjoying your food and check in to see if you need anything. I will definitely be going back here!

Take up the spice level a notch or two! Bombay Palace is located in Turkey Creek shopping area. Somewhat disappointing. Like many Indian restaurants, a lunch buffet is available. The selection was okay. I was seated and requested a mango lassi and water. I am used to eating Indian cuisine with more flavor and spice. Although I could taste the Indian seasonings to which I am accustomed to tasting however, the flavour was lacking in intensity. I was not impressed. $ 9.99 for the lunch buffet and $ 2.99 for the mango lassi. The mango lassi was great. The service was good and the staff friendly, but the food was not what I expected.

After hearing great things about this restaurant almost a year ago, we finally had opportunity — including a coupon for half price for one lunch buffet meal — to dine there. The buffet, delicious; the service, spot on, especially with tableside service of naan right out of the oven. The only criticism: the service bar did not keep the food warm enough. It was lukewarm. We will return and order off the menu and trust the food will be piping hot!

Last Friday was our first visit and now we have been here 3 times in 7 days. We had never eaten Indian cuisine before but the waiter was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu. Since it was our first visit they offered a free appetizer and helped us choose our main courses. Everything was unbelievably delicious. I love curry and this is the best I have had. The chicken tikka masala was splendid as was the lamb dish. We came back on Sunday for their buffet and we were not disappointed. You owe it to yourself to give this place a try. The waiters are phenomenal and your glass will never be empty. We keep coming back. The food and service are second to none. Not certain whether my favorite is the lamb rogan josh or the chicken tikka masala. I love everything I have tried.

We loved every dish that was put on our table, from the flaky crispy bread chip things that we started with, all the way to the complementary strawberry ice cream they gave for dessert and everything in between. I had a moment when I felt like the wait was a bit too long, but my boyfriend says I was just HANGRY and the waiter was only gone for two minutes so I’m not going to count that against them! So… the food: We ordered saag paneer, chana masala, vegetable korma(all available in the vegetarian combo plate) lamb mango curry and aloo naan. EVERYTHINGWASWONDERFUL. On top of that, the waiter was super helpful in helping us understand exactly what we were ordering which is always nice. I will definitely be back!

We were craving Indian food, and I found this place on Unilocal. There was a lot of good reviews, so we decide to try it out. We went for lunch when they have a buffet option. In the past, I have never had a bad experience at any other Indian places with buffets so I wasn’t particularly nervous. This place was just ok. The foods weren’t spicy at all. If anything, I was disappointed by the lack of spice. I was also disappointed by the lack of Naan. It was on the buffet, but once they got busy they were slower to refill the Naan. If I were to go here again, I would just order my own to have a constant supply of Naan. We were somewhat in a hurry though so we just dealt with it. I was also confused by the corner of random stuff by the buffet. I guess this place is ok if it’s the only place you’ve ever had Indian food. The service was good which is why I am giving them 3 stars. 2.5 is probably more appropriate. Dinner is probably a better choice, i assume.

My first experience was great. Food was amazing, great tast and good service. Had a friend in from Seattle that loves Indian food and he said this was one of the best restaurants he’s ever eaten at. It was my first time ever so I was happy. Great job keep up the good work I will be back.

For our first meal of Indian vittles in Knoxville, we chose Bombay Palace in Turkey Creek. It was their most recent Sunday afternoon buffet that we enjoyed. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff served us well, and the food was tasty and fresh. The ambiance needs a bit of an update, but it does not at all detract from the cuisine. Here are some highlights: Service The gents at Bombay Palace don’t need to be asked anything. Items — water, naan, and questions about items — just appear. In fact, the ladies in our party had the papadam off the buffet line. It was a bit stale. They asked for, and immediately received, fresh papadam. No frowning, no wincing, but just action. Food The food is quite tasty. Our favorites were the Saag Paneer(Spinach with Cottage Cheese) and Baingan Bhartha(Smoked Eggplant, Mashed). The crew brought out fresh naan stuffed with spiced mashed potatoes. The gulab jamun were especially wonderful. They were full flavored, firm on the outside, and silky smooth, but not undercooked at all, on the inside. Ambiance The reason for my lack stopping short of five stars is the ambiance. There is nothing wrong with it, but it just doesn’t warrant five stars. It’s a quaint, small place, but it does need a bit of a refresh. I highly recommend Bombay Palace. You won’t be disappointed.

I crave this place, time and time again. I will eat there on Saturday night, finish the leftovers off on Sunday, and be craving it again Monday. Our obsession with this restaurant began about two and a half years ago, when my wife and I were tired of the«same old, same old» restaurants in the area and decide to expand our culinary horizons to Indian food. Neither of us had experience true Indian cuisine, so we thought«Why the hell not» and took the plunge. Walking into their little vestibule, the aroma of spices hit us and we immediately knew we would love it. It was a bit intimidating at first, but our server was kind and recommended several dishes for us. When he realized we had a deer in the headlights look, he simplified it. «How spicy do you like your food? Lamb or chicken? Do you like vegetarian? Anything you don’t like?» We answered his questions, and he ordered it for us according to our spice palette. Needless to say, it was PHENOMENAL! We went back two weekends later to eat again. We try to go at least once every other month, and even when my work schedule changed and Saturday nights out became impossible, I’d pick up to go and bring it home(they do a very brisk to go business, by the way). Never had a bad meal, never had an incorrect order, and they know us so well there now that when we do dine in, they always bring us a bottle of Heyward’s 5000 to start the meal off with. In fact, they’ve kind of spoiled me towards other restaurants. I’ve eaten at other nameless restaurants in Knoxville and they don’t hold a candle to the awesomeness of Bombay Palace. You’ve got to try it!

I just started eating Indian food. As a matter of fact, this was my 3rd time. The first was Sitar and the second was Woodland’s. Bombay Palace beats both hands down. While I’m not sure as to the level of authenticity of their food, the lamb biryani was simply deliciious! The lamb was very tender and the seasoned rice was amazingly flavorful. The portion was smaller than Woodland’s, but the dish tasted so delicous. I will be back!

I love Indian food for one. So much flavor! Amazing culture. The service here is always better than the last time. As in. it’s never bad. They are very patient with you if you haven’t decided what to get yet. Always eager to help and give some hints on what to get. I always look at pictures before hand and try to ask for some help. My girlfriends pretty much knew what they wanted and I was stuck this time. I always get the same thing and I wanted to change it up! I always get the Vegetarian Thali. I never knew I could get it other ways! Always get the same. I really wanted some Aaloo Mattar too! So the amazing guy helped me and made me a Vegetarian sample platter that had the Aaloo on it! Yum yum yum! I usually never get a spice level or 2. I wasn’t mad that I did, but I will probably stick with a 1 from now on. Spices on spices with hotness was not my friend. Haha Some of the best Naan I have ever had! All different kinds! Always make sure your drinks are full! Always! They do have a group. I don’t know why. They are always so busy! I hear the lunch buffet is awesome. I want to definitely try! Ends your meal with a little scoop of ice cream. Perfect touch! I really don’t think you wil be disappointed! This is a must!
