Couldn’t believe how I was treated here. All I asked for was BBQ sauce at a BBQ restaurant and was told it was against the rules. I was a dine in customer asking for a squirt of sauce, not to take home or anything outlandish. Left before getting my food, but anyone in their right mind would have.

Had the half rack of baby back ribs with creamed corn and homemade sweet potato chips. The ribs were very good with a good smoky taste. No sauce is needed. They do offer 6 types of sauce if desired. I would recommend stopping by and grabbing some ribs.

Its bbq for sure! I love being able to sauce my own meat. a little pricey for the type of place it is. Worth a try.

Archers is great for a quick lunch. They have awesome pulled chicken with a ton of different bbq sauces(original is my favorite) from around the US. So far, the coleslaw, loaded potato salad and sweet potato chips are the standout sides. Service is always friendly and they let you taste a sample of the sides before you order. It’s definitely one of my favorite healthy lunch spots in Knox.

Pretty darn OK bbq. A local recommended I check it out while in Knoxville. Ordered chicken, pork, and ribs just to get a variety of offerings. It was better than OK, but nothing to write home about. The ribs were awesomely falling off the bone, but a bit on the salty side of delicious. The staff was great: friendly, attentive, made me feel like I was at a home kitchen. The only thing I’d say was great were the sauces! All and all not bad, and I’ll probably be back for more.

You know what? I like Archers. Despite being mortified to walk inside and to write a review. I think it tastes pretty good.(can’t scare me. nanny nanny boo boo!) The brisket here is outstanding. Oh my word. SOOO good. I actually think it’s the best brisket I’ve had in town. The ribs are great and so is the pork and chicken; so tender that they don’t need any sauce, really. And the sauces are good. I like to mix the moonshine and Carolina mustard together. I love love love their sour cream-based potato salad and their sweet potato chips. These are some really differentiated sides. It’s refreshing and stands apart from the typical greens and beans. Which they have there too if you want it. But I always get that potato salad. The banana pudding varies from okay to delicious. I’m still looking for that consistency. A couple of times I’ve come in where the attendants offer free samples of everything and give suggestions if you aren’t sure what you want. Other times the staff are hurried to get back on their cell phones once they wrap up your order. It’s a neat story how Archer’s came into business. It’s great to support local.(And I’ll also add that it doesn’t pay to scare off customers. Just sayin’)

My husband and I shared a sandwich. We both loved the Memphis and original sauce. Meat was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend.

Okay, mixed review here… My husband enjoyed it. I did not particularly care for it. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I thought the meat was too dry. I would be willing to give it another try in case it was just a bad day… Would recommend trying since a lot of friends rave over it!

I love BBQ and really wanted to live this place. If you are going here you will enjoy it, but given the area you are in there are way better places. First the side dishes where outstanding! It was the best green beans I have had except for mom’s. What really turned me off was in both my pulled chicken sandwich and my wife’s pulled pork sandwich we spent the majority of our meal picking out bones. Maybe it was an off day?

I had the pulled pork and the pulled chicken. Pulled pork was a very good with great smoke flavor but the pulled chicken didn’t have much smoke flavor at all. I had the barbecue baked beans and collard greens and both were very good. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the fact that it this is a barbecue restaurant and it does not offer sausage nor brisket. I had the ribs in my previous visit and they are pretty good but not the best in town and my opinion. They have several different barbecue sauces to choose from anything from vinegar base to South Carolina overall if I’m looking for some really good pulled pork I’m headed to archers.

Best bbq, hands down! Ribs are spectacular and the pulled chicken and pork are delicious. Sides are great too, especially the loaded potato salad and cole slaw. Banana pudding is awesome. Make the effort and try this place. You’ll love it.

This BBQ is decent. There are better places in town, but there are also far worse places in town. Archer’s seems to get plenty of good reviews, but both times I’ve been to Archer’s he is handing out Trip Advisor flyers and begging for you to write him up. It seems a little desperate, and he grumbles when you tell him you’ll write him up on Unilocal instead. Is Unilocal his daddy? It very well may be, and it appears he has daddy issues. All that aside, his food is good, and has plenty of delicious sauces to choose from that there’s something for everyone. I do think it’s a little strange to not have Mac ‘n Cheese in a BBQ restaurant, but most of the other sides that they do have are home made, and tasty. I’ve also enjoyed the fact that they’ve done several customer appreciation days, and they’ve given away 1000 Pork or Chicken sandwiches. Free BBQ? Yes please!
