All In One Automotive & Transmission

I’ve been there half a dozen times. The people are nice, but every single time I’ve been there, there something wrong that I have to go back for. They have forgotten to do something, failed to reattach something, every single time.

All in one is great. They are always busy but when it’s your turn you get great one on one service. I’ve had everything from a brake job to oil changes to a major oil leak serviced and repaired there. Coming from an automotive family, I know a bit about service work on cars and trucks (my brother owns a full service auto repair business that has been around for 40+ years in another state).
Whole repairing my oil leak they worked around my busy schedule and even went to the extent of cleaning the oil from the entire underside of my truck.
All in one is now my service place for the vehicles in my family.

«No time» for customers…
I received a flyer in the mail for All In One Automotive and decided to give them a call to request a quote for a job I need completed. I phoned the Farragut location (they have a few around town), Terry answered, and I advised I would like to get a quote for a thermostat installation. Terry responded (condescendingly I might add), «why do you think you need a thermostat?» I advised Terry that the truck should be running at 210 degrees, it won’t get above 160, and the check engine light is on with a code reader saying the thermostat is stuck open. He placed me on hold.
Nine minutes later he came back to the phone and advised the diagnostic fee to determine what was wrong would be $ 89.99 and if I had the repair completed then the $ 89.99 would be applied to the repair cost. I advised that would be fine, but I wanted to know in advance, assuming the thermostat needed to be replaced, how much would it be for the repair? His response, «I could sit around here all day looking up things but I don’t have time for that.» I advised I understand if he’s busy, I could leave my name/​number if he needed to call me back with a quote when he had more time. His response, «that’s not how we do things.»
This is a simple job ($ 50 in parts + labor) and two other shops quoted it to me in five minutes (less than the amount of time I was placed on hold when calling this company). At minimum he could save said the cost would be, «parts + our labor rate of $XX/​hour» but evidently this is just too much effort for this company to go through for a potential customer.
I guess their model is to get customers committed to the transaction with an $ 89.99 diagnostic fee (down payment) and only THEN quote a cost. Then, they can possibly charge more because the customer is already $ 90 «committed» to the repair at that point so as long as they aren’t more than $ 90 more expensive than a competitor, the customer is financially obligated to use them for the repair. I would urge caution in doing business with this company as they are clearly not customer friendly nor are they transparent with their pricing.
