I grew up in Knob Noster and this was always my favorite place to eat. Panthers is actually the reason I love cafes/diners so much. But of all the ones I’ve been to, none compare to Panthers.

This place has amazing food, awesome customer service, great prices. One of Knob Noster’s best kept secrets. Breakfast, lunch, dinner just awesome!

Not sure how this place is still open after all these years. I’m also extremely confused on why this place is called a «steakhouse». I’m pretty confident that 99% of the food is from a can, a box, or pre-cooked & frozen. This place has so much potential to be a cool little diner, but fails miserably. About the only thing this place may be good for is to hang out at in the morning drinking coffee, listening to the old locals chew the fat. Probably the reason I can count on 1 hand how many times I’ve actually been there by choice in the past 18 years.

Poor quality food, but great customer service. The steak tasted freezer burnt, dry, and flavorless. The mashed potatoes were revealed to be «insta-potatoes». The salad tasted like windex(as if they sprayed windex on the surface glass and the mist fell to the leafy greens). I won’t be back, I was not impressed. #KnobNasty

This place is weird, but I enjoyed the meal. The menus are written in this ridiculous«hillbilly language» so you spend most of your time trying to translate what the food options are. It’s a rough little grungy diner, but the prices were great and I loved my Jacks N Eggs(pancake with 2 eggs and breakfast meat). The pancake was the perfect size and the sausage was delicious.

Totally a fan of this local legend in Knob Noster. As a military transplant, I have had some time to enjoy a lot of the many different local businesses that have come and gone. There are very few restaurants that have held true to what they provide. I’m not saying this is the world’s greatest place to eat, however I am saying that they are a staple in the community and I will always vote with my wallet when it comes to small businesses. They provide some great menu items, including some pretty cool burgers, great breakfast… my favorite on Saturday mornings, and I generally just love to support such a great group of people. I once was sponsored by Panther Steakhouse when I played 5th and 6th grade baseball in town. This is a great local change of pace, if you were considering going somewhere new, it’s always worth a look and one of the cheapest places to eat. Very few businesses can say that they have been around this long. Congrats Panther Steakhouse for doing a great job, and making this my favorite local spot.

Wasn’t too sure what to expect when we drove up to the place for lunch… Very old building… Looks like it used to be an old 50’s style drive-in and café. Reminded me of «Al’s» on Happy Days! Not so sure about the steakhouse part, though they do have a steak or two on the menu. For lunch I had the smothered chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes… VERY tasty!!! The chicken was smothered with sauteed mushrooms and onions and very melted Swiss cheese. The green beans were quite tasty too! The second time we went there for lunch… YES it was so good we went back! I had the open-faced roast beef sandwich… OMGosh it was great! The roast beef was soooooo tender… melt in your mouth goodness… and the gravy… yes please!!! Anyway, don’t let the look of the outside steer you away. the food here is awesome! If your a Coca Cola memorabilia fan, then this place is definitely for you! Every square inch of the place is covered in Coke«stuff». I think they have one of every single thing ever made! So if you’re into that… bring your camera! Oh yeah… almost forgot… you’ll LOVE the menu!!! It is written phonetically, so it is a hoot to read. Trust me, you’ll get a good laugh just reading the entire menu!

This café has a wide variety of breakfast and lunch choices as well as a big salad bar. It is not a drive-in now, but was one for years. The menu is written in panther-hillbilly with a bit of attitude, as if a lolcat was on staff. There are sandwiches, steaks, tacos, and dinners. The menu is pretty long for such a modest place. I can suggest the chopped steak, taco, or hamburger as being worthwhile. The service is quick but you will likely not be given a check at the end… just walk up and pay. The back room has Coca-Cola collectibles on display. This is probably your only choice for a café in Knob now that Hometown Café is closed.
