Crazy eclectic food choices. Makes it hard to choose but fun and new each time.

All the reviews sounded good so my husband and I decided to try it out. They close at 8 not 9 as it says here on Unilocal. We walked in at 7: 25. The woman looked at us and we said«do we just sit anywhere»? She replied with«almost closed» she clearly did not want to wAit on us. Just lost any chance of me coming back. I ll spend my money where its appreciated.

We go here all the time and it’s the closest thing we’ve found to a real diner. Great food, reasonable prices, good family atmosphere and wide selection of choices.

First time referral and wasn’t disappointed. The Texas Burger was huge and very tasty. Topped with a fried egg, ham &/or bacon, and grilled onions! Service was good & friendly. I’ll be back.

Not sure what all the good reviews are for. I went there on Sunday, 4⁄26 and was very disappointed. First, the staff either doesn’t speak English or they speak it very poorly. I had to repeat my order about 5 times. Secondly, we ordered a burger that looked fabulous, but tasted like cheap, cheap, «meat». The breakfast food seemed decent enough, but the burger meat was not meat. Not sure what it was but definitely wasn’t ground beef. So i will not be returning there.

The best French toast ever. Knightdale has a real find in this small unassuming diner, you will not be disappointed.

Food was pretty good. Customer service is not that great. They werent overly rude but definitely not helpful. You get what you get here… no substitutions. They are really frugal… they brought out silverware complete with one napkin… i have two small kids so of course I asked for extra napkins… they came back with TWO napkins(not restaurant style but food lion 500 napkin pack for 2.39) so i asked for a stack and got about 5. We used all of them… spilled juice… milke…syrup. Anywho… prices were comparable to ihop. portions were good… took home a box. Would I come back… probably not. :/

We will never come back to this establishment. We had seen the positive reviews and were looking for a breakfast option while passing through this town. Greeted quickly and food arrived promptly. I ordered chorizo omelet, hash browns and water. He had French toast, eggs, bacon and water. Mine was decent. Cheese was like melted American. French toast were not fully cooked with raw egg batter still in the middle. Edges were dark like maybe the grill was too hot. Sent it back. Remade and again was the same. Said thank you, will not try again and we just ate the rest of mine. Female manager approached and said something like, was your other French toast at IHOP cause this is different and started to walk away. I was appalled. Then when the bill also had 2 apple juices for an additional 4.20 and I asked about it, she said, when people want to complain it causes nothing but trouble. Wow. I have never been so insulted. Paid the bill. Left a tip for the poor server and never looked back.

I would give 2 stars for food. At least the omelet and hash browns. Undercooked French toast and bland scrambled eggs would get 0. Service gets a 1. The young waiters were both helpful and polite. The older female manager was one of the rudest people I have ever met in a service position. She was defensive and insulting when we said we did not like the undercooked French toast. She implied that it was my fault that our bill had additional items that we had neither ordered nor had received on it because I complained earlier and that complaining causes problems, not that perhaps the bad food was the original issue. When I asked to take a closer look to figure out why it was so expensive I felt that she was trying to hide those items with her finger. I will never give any more money to this place.

I’m on the fence between 3 and 4 stars for here, but considering my local friends eat here weekly, I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. It’s a lite version of the standard NY or NJ diner, with a little less of the gargantuan variety. The food is good quality and good portions for what you pay. Service is also good, though not perfect. Nothing stands out about the place, and the location is really a negative — it occupies the lesser half of a pizzeria, so when you walk in, you end up smelling pizza in the«wrong» restaurant.(I assume the businesses must be conjoined twins with the same parent, given this arrangement.) There aren’t that many tables, though it wasn’t packed during a Saturday lunchtime nonetheless.(I bet most of the Northern transplants in the area are at chain restaurants.) It looks worse than unassuming from the outside — almost unappetizing. That’s probably most of what knocked my review toward the 3 star realm, and since I tend to weigh food quality more heavily, I’ll go with 4 for now.

Found this place on Unilocal and it had 4 ½ stars so I said yeah, let’s try this place because I really don’t want to resort to IHOP. To start, we walk in and I was thinking breakfast, but the pizza place that this joint shares its space with… well, that’s all I can smell and then all I really wanted was pizza or any kind of Italian food. We were greeted right when we walked in, not a big place, but it’s cute. My husband got french toast, eggs, and sausage. I got silver dollar pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Service was super awesome and on point and the food was okay and cooked well. Don’t get me wrong. The pancakes and the french toast were just not my style. I’m sure some people rave over them, but I was really digging either. It was a little spendier than we’re used to. We can usually both go somewhere for breakfast for under 20 then put a tip on top. This time, it was 25 for just the two of us. It may be because we’re in Knightdale and not in Richmond anymore so that may be something I should get used to. I say come by and check it out, but now i’m more apt to check the pizza place in the building.

Love coming hear for breakfast on Saturday morning for coffee and a hearty meal. Very simple, straightforward diner similar to many you find back in NY/NJ. In fact, the owner worked at a popular diner for 15 years back in Manhattan. I love their omlettes, french toast, hash, and the Mexican breakfast items especially. Also, for lunch, I love swinging by and grabbing a pastrami sandwich or a great Chicken Ceasar salad– the prices are reasonable, the food tasty and well prepared and I always leave with a full belly. Also, their ceasar dressing is how I like it– not too creamy– I can actually taste the garlic and essence of anchovies. I don’t come often for dinner because they don’t serve wine. Gosh, that makes me sound like an alcoholic…

This is our weekend breakfast hidden gem. We started going every weekend soon after they opened. The food is spot on for quality every time. Its’ nothing upscale but that’s not what you should be after in a place like this. From the French toast, waffles, eggs, omelets, and one of our favorites eggs with corn beef hash, its’ all good. Yes — I know its’ Sysco corn beef hash but the cook it right with the eggs as you want them, toast, home fries, coffee and a small juice all for a very reasonable price. The service is usually very good — even when they get so busy that you need to be seated in the pizza place next door. But that is just a sign of how good the food is for a reasonable price. And recently they have adjusted the menu to add breakfast sandwiches on fresh croissants — and now my personal favorite — Huevos Rancheros! I don’t know whether the green chile sauce is homemade but its’ perfect every time. Combine that will over-easy eggs, home fries, a couple small cheese quesadillas to go with it — i’m hungry now just thinking about it! They do serve breakfast all day — and there other food is decent as well — but this place is about breakfast for me and the family!

Went here because it said breakfast all day. Two eggs, bacon, toast and some really good home style fried potatoes for about $ 7.00. Was good and so was the price. Other than that, its a very small, plastic booth kinda of joint that is connected with a pizza place.

This review is for breakfast. Since it is what they«serve all day» thought I would try it. We had two plates: the fabulous pancake burrito and the chalupa omelette. The pancake burrito is a huge pancake wrapped around scrambled eggs, sausage, and cheese. Served with either potatoes or fruit. I got potatoes. Smothered them in ketchup and hot sauce, and the«burrito» in maple syrup. I was really really good. The chalupa omelette was a ham and cheese omelette, served with home fries, and two corn tortillas topped with a mild salsa verde and chopped ham. It also was very delicious. The service and friendliness of the staff here really make this place special. Their concern about their customers’ happiness is genuine and makes for a pleasant dining experience. If nothing else, go for the pancake burrito.

Great place! Came with a party of 4 and no one had any complaints. Everything was fresh, fruit salad was not just melon, portions were perfect, service was great, inexpensive and very tasty.

I went out to breakfast with some friends to the New York Diner, which based on its interior and exterior, reminded me nothing of an actual New York diner. The diner is in a strip mall, so it doesn’t have that shiny, chrome look of a diner in New York or New Jersey. The food, however, stacks up pretty evenly to a diner back in the Empire State. While the diner advertises that they serve breakfast anytime the restaurant is open, it appears that they only have a breakfast menu in the mornings. The New York Diner has an extensive selection of breakfast dishes such as omelets, French toast, eggs and other choices on their menu. I ordered a meat lover’s omelet, which also included a small chalupa on the side(I had noticed this was a side item for a number of dishes the diner serves). Service was very efficient as well.

How is it I have a diner that open early in the morning, right in my backyard, that I don’t know about it until right now? Shame on me! Woke up early for work this morning, and on the way out, I was just hankering for some Waffle House but without, ya know, Waffle House. As I pulled into the small street beside Walmart I happened to spot this place that actually had lit«OPEN» sign. I stepped in at 7:15AM, and of course sat down right away since there’s no one but me and them. Got my coffee right after I put my menu down and ordered. My «Two eggs and things» special came on a hot plate with sausage and sliced/spiced potato hash and side of toast, at 7:20AM. No kidding. Got my food even before I took my second sip of hot coffee. It was delicious, and I shoved it down like this was my first meal in months. And, if you get here early enough, you might be able to watch your morning news on «Un Nuevo Dia.»(in case you wonder, yes, the proprietors of this fine establishment are of South American decent)

Can get fruit with your sandwich instead of fries. Able to get breakfast all day. Low prices and quick service. Brand new tables, chairs and booths. Good fresh food, a great value in my book.
