We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street and we wanted to get a drink to which the front desk guy pointed us this way. He said there’s «characters» at this bar and that he’s heard it’s good people watching, if anything. The bar was to the left. There was a bunch of tables, a pool table, darts, and a jukebox. Nothing fancy. We met locals and had a good time. They invited us into conversations and we were part of the scene and played pool. I was surprised you can smoke in the bar. it’s California, right? Or are we deep in the State of Jefferson? Or is it Yurock status? I don’t know. We left our mark with our own signed dollars on the ceiling. had a good time. Happy after a long drive that the only option wasn’t to go to the room and watch TV and sleep.

A bar that also serves some food ie hamburgers, hot dogs etc. Dollar bills, which have been signed by the hangers, decorate the ceiling near the bar. Three bar-fly characters are watching the Deadly Catch and bantering loudly while they nurse their drinks and smoke their cigarettes. The bartender is making smoothies for her daughters and grandchildren. The daughters sit at the bar but the grandchildren have to sit at the ‘50s dinning room chairs. You order your food from a window as you enter. A very sweet guy takes your order, cooks and brings it out to you. The hamburgers are very generous and the potato salad is good too. Ambiance = 1 Food = 3 Beer Price = 4 The smell of the cigarette smoke is the deal breaker.

Duvet joint full of old folks with occasional loggers and travelers. Inside looks like it hadnt been updated since the 1970s. Beer on tap is only $ 3.75, including the craft brews, and they do offer a couple good choices. The grill appears to be a separately run business and accepts cash only. I had their chicken strips and fried fish, both very rather greasy. The bar staff is slow to serve you because their attention is always on the regulars and the dart games. Customers and staff seem very friendly.

We ate the most delicious burgers and fries here several years ago and again tonight. I highly recommend the food at The Country Club. Even though smoking is allowed here and I am normally sensitive to it, the ventilation system is so effective I don’t notice it.

This is the ultimate dive bar. Allergic to cigarette smoke? Better to skip this place. Or order to go. The bar is off to the left of the entrance. The grill is to your immediate right. Order at the window, pay, and your meal will be brought to your table. Great burgers. All cooked well. The beef patty is easily ½ lb. and sprinkled with garlic powder. Comes with a huge order of fries. Use the horseradish ketchup with your fries. Yummy. It’s so smokey in the bar and grill, we grabbed the table closest to the door. It didn’t help.

I have to say when walking into the C.C. to look at their menu, I was scared(dark and for sure a biker bar kinda feel) AND as the first post mentioned, it smelled like major SMOKE, in fact the bartender was smoking inside and because nothing else was opened we decided to order some food to go. I got the patty melt, my husband a grilled cheese and my son a cheese burger, all with fries. We ate the food inside the R.V. and I had the BEST patty melt I’ve had in my life. Cooked perfectly and the flavor, onions and sauce was PERFECT, so was the rye bread. So good my husband who only likes the finest«meat» ate half of the sandwich as it was rather large. My son enjoyed his burger as well. The cook was really nice and really did put a lot into making us a great afternoon lunch/early dinner. I highly recommend the C.C. but for sure, ORDERITTOGO!

You don’t come to the far northern CA coast for fine dining. That said, even with low expectations, this place still rates low in my book because it depressed me. This was the only place in town for a hot meal and I was in no mood to drive to Crescant City after a long day of hiking. Upon entering the Country Club, I was greated by cigarette smoke more powerful than I can remember since the state ban of smoking in 1994. They did have Country Club on tap and Bud was $ 1.25 for a classic stein glass as some positives. Hamburger was big, but not very good, flies buzzing around my table, depressing degenerates in trucker hats wasting their lives away at the bar, an unattractive woman with a too-big tank top and a bra dancing drunk with her boyfriend. Bartender was not that nice. Fries were ok, though. And the cook was nice. I’d recommend bringing your own food if staying in this town.
