DELICIOUS! Went here twice on our 4 day vacation because it was just so good! Good service, will customize any dish to how you would like it. Leaving anything out or adding anything in. Ask for super spicy and you will definitely get super spicy! Large portions definitely leave stuffed with leftovers. Will go back for sure when we visit again

Wow! That was a great dinner. Thai food at its best. Great tasting food that looks fantastic.

We have eaten here and ordered out from here. This place is a little gem. The restaurant itself is smallish, only seating about 30 people. I think they do a pretty brisk carryout business. The guy that runs the place is really good natured and funny, and his parents came to NC from Thailand when he was young. This stuff is the real deal. They make a Thai version of Phở, and it is very good. They include a spice rack(be careful, the spices are pretty zippy) so you can make your soup as fiery as you want! The other thing about this place that is really great is their Pad Thai. They don’t junk it up with egg and pickled purple cabbage and all the other crap that a lot of places put in that particular noodle dish. If you are a purist, you will love it.

This Thai restaurant did not disappoint! I brought my mother who had never eaten Thai food before this, and she enjoyed her experience. Definitely a great place! (I only give 5 stars to places that blow my mind)

Not very good. Tried it based on it being close to the hotel. Mistake. Bland food. Sauce was like soup broth and vegetables were swimming in it and had to be plucked out to eat. I really wanted it to be better than it was.

Is this the only Thai in town or do people just not know better? The curry was bland without anything but meat and curry sauce. The shrimp in my Pad Thai were so overcooked that they no longer looked like shrimp. Both our dishes lacked the freshness one usually finds with Thai food. the lemongrass was uncut, the curry not blended. The entire time we listened to the cook yelling and griping about the customers, and how dare they think lunch last all day(at 2)

Everything was absolutely delicious, delivered to us promptly, and the servers were very friendly. The mango coconut rice was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had– thanks Vilai Thai!

The food is pretty awesome, but the service is questionable. Don’t bother making any special requests because they likely won’t pull through. My family orders to-go from here all the time, and more often than not, we find ourselves tasting all of the dishes to determine what belongs to who… You can order four Pad Thais with different levels of spiciness and they won’t mark any of the boxes! Worse than that is when we ask for no peanuts on one of them since my dad can’t eat them. They almost always ignore the request, but every once in a while they will hold the peanuts on all of our meals.

The salt in all the dishes we orders were significantly more. We complained to the waiter to change one of the dish. I think she went inside with the plate and just brought the same dish back in a different plate. After that, we again told her that the salt levels are still very high. We wasted most of the food. The management didn’t even show the courtesy to remove at least that particular item from the check. If he had done that. the review would have been a little bit better with a 2*s I wish there was an option to give 0*s

The food was pretty good and the service was solid. The restaurant is on the small side, it only seats about 30 people. Their food can be very spicy, so medium is probably the choice and you can ask for hot sauce on the side to increase the level of spice if necessary. I had the soft shell crab. The crab itself was good but I did not really like the sauce(see picture). It was a pretty good serving size. There was a good variety of appetizers. Kids liked the fried rice.

Ned recently traveled to Thailand and then took me out to dinner here. We ran into Bess and George and Bess was eating four servings of mango sticky rice. I love iced tea and this restaurant has fantastic iced tea. We liked the panang curry, fried rice, and fried tofu. Bess ate so much that Ned had to carry her back to the hotel room.

Decent Thai food. Food is hotter than expected for some, but if you like it really spicy, ask for Vilai spicy, which is a notch above Thai spicy. The pad Thai was ok, though needed less of a peanut butter flavor and more fish sauce, I think. Nice little joint for a change of pace from the seafood/diners/fast food/“American” food.

Had been here for dinner on most busy weekend of year but restaurant and food was good. Service was fine no complaints Food tasted well and not as bland as others reviewed. We specifically told for spicy food and indeed it was served Thai hot. «I would visit this place again at outer banks next time»

Stick with the known foods Penang chicken, pepper chicken. The pad Thai had cabbage flavor so we did not like, the won ton soup no flavor, satay was good, spring rolls basic no flavor. Penang was only thing worth ordering.

The only reason they get one star is because their food tasted good. There was a giant ball of hair in the bottom of the to go container for my spring rolls. If I hadn’t been from out of town and taken it to go, I would have said something while I was there. It was so big they shouldn’t have missed it when playing the order.

Our first visit was for lunch. It was moderately busy but as our meal progressed the dining room filled up. We were seated quickly in a booth and our drink orders taken. We requested the spring rolls which were free with a coupon. There wasn’t much to them, not surprising for a widely advertised promotion. My wife ordered a Chinese favorite, General Tso’s Chicken, while I had Red Curry with Chicken, both spiced medium. The Thai version of The General’s chicken was lighter than the heavily coated Chinese version and enjoyable. My Red Curry was serviceable, but I’ve made more flavorful versions at home.

Came here for lunch during our vacation to the outer banks. Around 2:00 for lunch on a Thursday– we were the only ones in the small restaurant. Our server was not very friendly. She also forgot multiple things during our time there– I understand that happens, but it was a little excessive. We ordered the vegetable spring rolls to start. They were yummy– nothing different than other spring rolls I’ve had in the past. My boyfriend and sister ordered the Thai style general tso’s chicken. Amazing! I loved it. I kept stealing food off of his place because I loved it so much. The sauce was awesome and their were pineapple chunks mixed with the chicken. I ordered the drunken noodles. I found them to be quite flavorless and had to add soy sauce and then the general tso’s sauce to them, to add flavor. After adding the general tso’s sauce they were bearable and I enjoyed them. Overall– Clean restaurant, ok service and decent food.

Place is pretty good but not the best Thai food I’ve had. The drunken noodles were alright except my zucchini chunks were bad and tasted bitter. Also, the Tom Yum soup had a funky not-normal flavor, the mussels shells were undercooked and had not opened. Service was very good and they happily replaced our meal and was very accommodating.
