Beach Pea is soo good! I love everything that I have gotten there. The bread is amazing, I recommend the fogasse and the baguette is tasty too. Out of the dessert case, lemon bars and cheesecakes are out of this world. And for lunch, I usually get the chicken salad sandwich.

This is my absolute favorite eatery! I wish there was one closer than Kittery, Maine, but it’s worth the drive. They use the freshest ingredients, have the kindest service and the most delicious bakery around. Their bread is to die for, their Tuscan Sandwich is my favorite menu item, and they have the most unique cookie flavors! — If you can get your hands on the Lavender Cookies– DOIT. The dining room is a bit small, but in the summer it’s nice to sit outside on their patio area. I am hoping one of these days they can expand their place– at least to add more places to eat in. Their establishment is always super clean, smells wonderful, and is fully stocked. I’ve never gone there and left without everything I wanted. Only downside is that since they’re so delicious there is usually a line– but it is WORTHTHESMALLWAIT. Also– FREEWIFI!

Beach Pea Baking Co.‘s offerings are consistently heavenly AND their prices are very reasonable. Pro tip: Ordering a half sandwich is cheaper and plenty filling, so unless you want leftovers for later, save your pennies and avoid food waste by ordering a half sandwich. Speaking of avoiding waste, Beach Pea does a great job of recycling and composting. They also have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. While Beach Pea can get very busy, especially around the holidays, they have excellent, efficient customer service. I honestly have never been disappointed by anything I have purchased at Beach Pea, and I frequently find myself too pleased for words with the deliciousness of their offerings. One bite and you will want to live there. I wish I could…

So, the beach pea has a lot going for it. It’s bustling parking lot reflects this fact, as it’s incredible difficult to find a parking space. But this is understanable, as everything is heavenly. Where to start? The bread, especially the fougass(sp?) is unlike any other bread in a 50 mile radius, with an unparalleled flavor and texture. The same can be said about their garlic bread – there’s simply no substitute. I haven’t had any of the other bread, but if it’s what they use in their sandwiches, it’s certainly a force with which to be reckoned. The Mozarella, Balsamic, Tomato sandwich may be simple, but is incredible rich and flavor. The curry chicken is also to die for. Their desserts also are pretty damn good. I’ve had eclairs, cowgirl cookies, cakes, etc. and I’ve never been dissapointed. Everything the Beach Pea offers is awesome, and I think it’s customers know it. Go in and try something out, you won’t be dissapointed.

Their cake ordering system is odd. You don’t actually special order a cake — meaning I wanted to order this one cake and the lady over the phone had to check that was what they were making for that week. So it’s more like you’re putting a cake on hold. They alternate between the lemon and something else. I ordered a cake here several times. Mostly a home run– one time it was so terrible I threw out the 8 inch and wanted to call this place quits. The 6 layer lemon with raspberry preserves was literally hard as a rock. Sadly, that was a wasted $ 45+ I’ve had other cakes that were very delicious. But this place rubs me the wrong way. I never actually get the cake I want, ever because of their rotating schedule. It’s frustrating to say the least. Their $ 3+ for a cupcake would have been fine if it was rich and decadent like a cupcake should be. But it wasn’t at all. Seriously though, I go for the fougasse. That is gluten crack.

Excellent, quality, fresh food! I got the Anchello Chicken Salad and my husband got the #2 chipotle chicken sandwich. Both were delectable. Definitely worth the stop!

While the products are good, they have terrible terrible customer service. Called to book a cake tasting/consultation for our upcoming wedding. Associate told me the manager would return our call… After a week of waiting with no call, we called again. Spoke with the manager/owner who who unapologetic and insincere about not receiving a call back… She was the rude about working with us to find a date for a tasting. With our family and friends being long time customers we are very upset with this outcome, and will suggest our friends/family shop elsewhere.

Usually love stopping in and grabbing a sandwich for lunch and have yet to be disappointed. Today, though, I stopped in and ordered the macaroni and cheese special to go. It took over 15 minutes for me to get my order, and they weren’t really that busy. When I finally got my meal, it was barely warm. I figured since it was the special they’d have a big tray of it ready to go.

Awesome bakery + sandwiches. Pumpkin cookie was incredible, moist, incredibly tasty. If you are driving through Kittery, definitely worth stopping by and having something delicious.

This review is strictly about their chocolate chip cookies. One afternoon I decided to stop in for a dessert to tame my pregnancy cravings. It took me a good 5 minutes to decide what to get because everything looked so delicious in the bakery case! I decided on a chocolate chip cookie. May I just say their cookies are one of the best cookies I have EVER had(behind Grandma’s homemade cookies of course)! Ever since that first bite I have been coming back for chocolate chip cookies. Yes, I do plan on eating lunch here one day and trying their other dessert items. But for a quick afternoon snack on my way home this is definitely my go to place!

Go here for their sandwiches! They are amazing, artisanal, organic and my favorite among all of the seacoast area(portsmouth, kittery, york). I literally crave them! But, their sweets(cakes, etc) don’t live up to the quality of their sandwiches. I have never liked ANYTHING from the bakery there and my friends feel the same way. They should stick to sandwiches. Great lunch spot!

I came here for lunch one day as a visitor to Maine and was in love with it. It’s vegetarian friendly, but also a good selection of non-vegetarian as well. The salads were phenomenal– I recommend the Roasted Veggie salad. I came back a second day as it was so good. Highly recommend!

Moved to this area about a year ago. Yea, the line to order/pay is a bit confusing and needs to be changed, but they do bread well here. I mean VERY well… better than any bakery in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Great place near Kittery for a quick lunch. Food was amazing and service was very quick. Even though the place was crowded, the staff was very attentive and took your order right away. Seating was very limited inside and even on their patio, but they do have picnic tables in the front near the road and a few behind the restaurant. We will return next time we are in the area!

I tried to order a specialty cake this morning… My daughter wanted raspberries in the tuxedo cake rather than strawberries. I was told that they simply couldn’t do this… REALLY!!! Kind of crazy if you ask me! Just lost my business!

All you need to know is this: Their carrot dill hummus is the work of Gods. SERIOUSLYADDICTING! Best hummus ever. I am so sad I only bought one container, I might seriously drive back up there this week from Boston just to buy all their hummus. We went here for the first time this weekend while we were staying in Maine. It was recommended to us from the hotel. It’s very crowded because it’s popular so that’s a good sign but you do have to wait a bit to order. Parking can also be difficult so be patient. They have fair trade coffee which is great. They had a vegan soup that day so I got that and it was yummy(kale veggie). I also got a soy cappuccino. My boyfriend got a hot tea and little muffin. I was bummed to see they didn’t offer any vegan pastries except some bread but no sweet things like muffins, cookies, or cakes. They had gluten free options but vegans need love too. The reason for the lack of a star is because the woman waiting on us was not friendly at all and very annoyed. Obviously she wasn’t having a good day or just hating her job and unfortunately we got her as our service. I expect better from a local bakery like this — have your staff be pleasant and friendly to their customers. After she rang us up I realized I forgot to order the muffin and I was actually scared of telling her that because I wasn’t sure how she would react. We came back the next day because I wanted to get sandwiches to go since we were in there earlier the day before and not at lunch time. I got the tofu sandwich on the board which is like a banh me. It was very good. The slaw doesn’t have mayo so vegans are safe. My boyfriend got the chicken pesto and liked it. I also got a tub of that amazing dill carrot hummus, a tub of tofu salad, and an ice coffee to go. Next time I am in the area I will certainly be back, but for the love of good please have someone start carrying that hummus in Boston — I don’t think I can live a day without it!

Came here for a quick lunch after shopping at the Kittery outlets, which is a quick 5 min drive. Cute spot to get lunch with a friend. I got the roasted veggie and goat cheese sandwich. The bread was very fresh and tasted great with the vegetables. Only downside was that they used too much oil in the sandwich(which you can kind of tell in my picture). They sell a nice variety of fresh baked goods, fresh bread and coffee too. Decided to buy a to-go container of their homemade granola to try on my morning yogurt. Looking forward to trying it out!

My family was driving through the area and needed to stop to breakfast. What a find! The Beach Pea was a great breakfast. The ham and egg wraps were hearty and tasty. The homemade granola was crunchy and full of dry fruit. Croissants were appropriately flaky and flavorful. Cute porch out front and a decent amount of seating. Would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite or to linger on a lazy weekend morning.
