Steak ‘n Shake

Ok I would give this place zero stars but you have to leave one. My wife and I stopped by around 4:30pm and it was crazy. Hardly no parking and we waited to be seated for around 15 minutes. The customer service was HORRIBLE! We were never seated but the funny thing is that they were not even busy, they had a ton of empty tables but they were still dirty and the people that work there were just standing around doing NOTHING! I mean they had a ton of people just waiting to be seated but yet NOTHING! It got to the point that we just walked out because we were very hungry. While we waited an older couple came in and was also waiting to be seated MIND you they told us it was ALWAYS like that, you ALWAYS had to wait although they always had empty dirty tables. I felt bad for the older couple because the husband was in a motorize chair which the wife said the battery was dying. She said she had no choice but to stand there and wait to be seated. SAD they really need better customer service.

Came through for a quick «drive thru» only because I heard bad things about this place. The food I ordered hit the spot though! Delicious!

Visited this location twice in one week and still very disappointed. Waited 15 minutes the first time to be seated and waited at least 30 minutes before our burgers came out. Second visit was a take out shake also waited at least 10 minutes standing by register waiting for someone to take my order. It seems they have no system manager was in office when I asked what was going on. Finally this young lady Jennifer took my order and seemed to me the only girl taking cash and seating customers. People were still waiting to be seated when I left. There were plenty of empty tables available. Beware. !

We were seated in 10 minutes. Then no one took our order no one even asked us what we wanted to drink and they aren’t even that busy. TERRIBLE SERVICE!

Horrible service. The wait at the drive through took forever. It was because they couldn’t get the orders straight and were giving folks the wrong things. When I arrived they were not sure of the order or the amount I owed. The food was fine but I won’t be returning.

Yes we had a large party but it took over an hour before they even took our order! We were exhausted and hungry from flying across the country and we just decided to stick it out because the kids wanted Steak & Shake. People who arrived after us had their orders taken AND got their food before our order was even taken! Not only that, the menu showed burgers with tomato, lettuce, etc but those are «extras» you have to ask for. Only reason I found out was because I asked for no onion on my burger. The server said «do you want tomato and lettuce?» and I said «I want it like this» pointing to the menu picture and she said «They don’t make it like that.» Everyone else just received meat, cheese and bun. Other condiments weren’t even offered. After we placed our order, took another hour for our food. We heard grumblings from other tables so at least we know it wasn’t personal. No apologies from anyone for the wait. Will never go back.

Disappointed. I Had the garlic burger that was fabulous. Very good taste and fries were good too. I also ordered a shake. It was also good, but this place has problems. I have worked in restaurants and was shocked at the lazy attitude of every employee. There was chaos everywhere except in the kitchen where the cooks shuffled from grill to grill with not a care in the world. The waitstaff was either asleep on their feet or having spirited fights and yelling at the cooks and the other wait staff. The manager walked around like he couldn’t hear or see anything that was happening. I also used the restroom which was dirty and looked like the floor hadn’t been mopped in a month.
Our burgers were good but it took them almost 30 min to get us our burgers and 1 shake. This was not due to them being busy, as the place was only half full when we arrived. It took them almost 10 minutes to get us our check because our waitress was too busy standing in front of the order up window huffing about how someone took her salad or that the kitchen didn’t make it.
Then the cashier disappeared and the people wanting to pay their bills and the people wanting to order to go started to get angry. The line was out the door when we left, I feel sorry for those people. I hope this review gets read by the corporate offices and that they send someone to take control of his out of control train.

I stopped by around 8p. m to get a bacon cheeseburger with ketchup and fries for my daughter. You would think that would be an easy order to get right, especially since it wasn’t busy. Nope, we get back to our hotel and discover that they have us a plain hamburger and no fries. I don’t see the attraction to this place. The food isn’t even very good.

We called in here having completed ac10 hour flight and 1.5 hour drive from Tampa airport. This restaurant hit the spot.
Waitress very welcoming, shakes were excellent, 2 of us had the taco salad which we enjoyed the other 2 had burgers again were enjoyed.
Service good as was the cleanliness of the restaurant… will be visiting again while here on holiday.

This place is always a stop of convenience. I rarely «Crave» Steak n shake.
I love getting the sliders. They are just right for the price and allow you to try different options without making yourself too fat. The hot dogs are always a good option for kids as they are foot long… you can split one if you have a couple with you :)
French fries are the shoestring fries, and MUST be dipped in the cup of cheese. If not, you are doing something wrong. They have happy hour for shakes, but I always seem to miss it.
If you go inside, you get that old diner feel. They have ample crayons and «build it yourself» paper car to keep kids busy.
Overall, it is nothing that blows your mind… but for fast food, it ranks up there compared to others. Making a right turn back out can suck at times with the 192 traffic. Hit the gas and pray.

I got a salad this time. I remember years ago when I first had it the burger didn’t sit right with me. Even the grilled chicken in the salad tasted like shit. It’s like processed chicken or something. Hopefully I don’t get sick…

If I had rated this place the first time I went there back in July of 2014 I would have given it 4 stars but sadly I went back in April of 2015 and the place has turned into a hole! Service was lousy, The place was filthy and the food was awful.
I think the worst part of the experience was knowing how good the restaurant had been less than a year earlier and seeing how far it had fallen. I probably will not be back unless I get some really good reports from people I know and trust.

This place sucks it is so slow the customer service sucks they work slow it took them 20min to just clean off a table. Never would go back to this steak and shake ever again !!! I wouldn’t recommend it either

I’m giving this place one star because it’s super chaotic, crowed, under no management, and very dirty.
Keep in mind — I’m here on vacation, first timer and heard good things about this restaurant but when I went in, it had good food but the service doesn’t help at all.
The staff had no idea what they were doing, some waiters were rude to customers and some weren’t even paying attention on the job, food took forever to come out, manager got our bill wrong and charged random things to us, and it was way too crowded because of people waiting to be seated, pay, or order take out due to slow service

I’ve been to Steak N Shake in 4 different states in multiple locations and this by far is the worst as far as service waitresses playing around while people are waiting tables not bussed not able to pay ect I grabbed my own menus and sat myself WHAT THE F$&K!!! Can more than 1 person have pride in their work? The food was good but the service sucks major a$$.

Crappy and slow as hell. What the heck. Greasy burger and the bread too. (Frisco) and fries. 10 minute wait at drive through. Terrible. Never again. I was the 2^nd car in line… no excuses. Sorry, but true.

This place had quite possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced. The whole experience lasted well over an hour with only the last 15 – 20 minutes actually eating… We waited easily over a half an hour waiting for our main food.
The food was ok. Actually a pretty good burger. But definitely not worth the wait…
Likely won’t ever come here again.

Worst experience at this location. We waited 10 minutes at the door to be acknowledged to be seated. The girl made no apologies for the long wait or lack of service and said «I will clear that table off for you over there». The table was cleared but never cleaned. After 5 more minutes of waiting at the dirty table, we left.
Aside from the poor service this place was the dirtiest I have seen in a restaurant. All the open tables were covered with plates and garbage from the previous customers. The floors had garbage and debris all over the place.
Stay away from the very poorly run location.

One of the better «fast food» chains. They also have a nice dine in area that is modeled after a traditional diner. I love the Frisco Melt. They use steak burgers not ground beef. Yum! They have awesome milkshakes. The salads are good when you dine in but for some reason whenever I carry it out, I don’t like it as much. But it hasn’t stopped me from going back!

I forgot how good Steak ‘n Shake is. I had a double stack steak burger which was pretty good. The fries were delicious. I had some chili for the sake of trying it and it was pretty damn good. Great service too.
