I’ve been here so many times, and each time was fine. A few days ago, I ordered a cake, and they messed up twice on my order. The first time, they said I could pick it up at 11am the next day. When I came at about 1130ish, the cake was still not ready. They apologeized and said that it’d be ready by the next day. When my mother came to pick it up, and I saw the cake, the cake was dishelvelled. It looked like the cake had been sitting outside the fridge for a long time, or maybe just made. So, when I saw it, the layers were all over the place. I had to physically move the cake back into place with my hands. When I called to complain, they said they’d have a new cake ready for me on Saturday. Of course, when I came on Saturday(today), the cake was not ready and they made up some lie that I was supposed to have brought the cake sooner so it could be ready by today? What a fib! If they would have told me to bring the old cake today and that they’d give me a new cake today that would have been fine. I’m a fair person, but they lied and said that I knew this so that therefore, there was no cake available today. Go here if you want, but beware if you order any cake from here.

This is one of my favorite places to eat and at a reasonable price. They have breakfast and lunch/dinner meals. Their bakery items are delicious and they also have natural fruit juices. There is also fried food(turnovers, alcapurrias, stuffed potatoes) They do take long but I usually order on the phone beforehand and when I get there is just a matter of paying and taking it home.

Ordered egg sandwiches here and not only did it take forever but it was gross. Tasted like super old grease. Plus they put«salad» on an egg sandwich. What? Lettuce and tomato! I’m from NY and that’s unheard of. This is a spanish place in the middle of a spanish«hood» called BVL aka Little Puerto Rico so I think it’s more for the locals. The plaza it’s located in is super grimey too. Drive 5 minutes and get a better breakfast sandwich and pastry at Melao.

La Carreta is a Dominican/Puerto Rican panderia/bakery/hot spanish food restaurant. Although it might look tiny from the outside the menu is a different story. The top right of the restaurant has this huge menu with pictures accomodating the food items. From sandwiches, to breakfast, to soups, rice & bean plates, empanadas, chicharon, chicken, steak, salads, this place has it all! I came here a few times for breakfast and lunch. They have this amazing Dominican breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, platano, and fried cheese. The perfect hearty way to start the day. If you never tried fried Dominican cheese and are a hardcore cheese lover then you are missing out. Come here one morning to understand the fuss. Another recommondation is trying the Morir sonando because the one of the tastiest drinks ever. It’s consist of orange juice, condensed milk, and sugar. Man, it’s rich and super sweet, no wonder morir sonando translates to die dreaming. o_O They also have pressed melted sandwiches such as media noche, the italian, pastrami, and vegeterian. I’m pretty sure anybody who gets a crunchy hot sandwich for lunch stays happy. Oh my lord, they also have this bakery where they custom make Dominican cakes plus they sell a variety of quesitos, pasteles, cookies, and cupcakes. What can I say? La Carreta has alot of tasty items so it’s one of those restaurants that I have to look away while driving by or else a ton of stops would be made.
