Very good food here! I’m in town for a few days, and I stopped here for lunch. I ordered a gyro and Greek fries. The gyro was just excellent, and the fries were pretty good. I feel they were just slightly underdone, but they still had great flavor with the oregano and feta. I will be back next time I’m in town.

A nice little place with good gyros for a decent price. The staff is personable and quick. Ambiance is a bit outdated but adds to the charm.

My son took a road trip with me to Kirksville when I was up there on business this week, and found this place on line for lunch. We decided to check it out. Both my son and I love Greek food, and have eaten at all the KC Metro places. We are always looking for good Greek places. This turned out to be one of them. We both ordered the Gyro Plate and Greek fries. All were delicious and made to order. The Greek fries had a very generous portion of Feta on them and were hot and delicious. The Gyros were good, although I would have liked to see more meat on them. My only complaint was that the meat, veggies and Tzatziki were stacked on the pita like a Tostada. I would have preferred everything on the side so I could assemble it myself. The restaurant was very clean, and I saw they had a patio. Seeing as it was in the teens that day, we ate inside. But I can see this as being a great little hangout for the college kids when the weather is more accommodating. The menu is basic Greek, and not an expansive restaurant menu like you would see at a full blown restaurant. This is not a negative as the place doesn’t pretend to be more than a sandwich shop type eatery. It reminds me a lot of the Gyro Joints I used to eat at back in NY. Check it out. The prices are not bad for Greek food, which seem to price point around the same as BBQ places. My son and I got out of there for around $ 25 for the both of us, including drinks. Next time I am up in Truman State country I will try it again.

Good fast Greek grub when you are hungry and realize the very few decent options available in Kville. The food is delicious and the staff are always quick and friendly. Easy to grab a to go order or sit out on the patio for a bit and visit.

Not sure about the guy who went to greece and had better souvlaki, maybe you visited a prison? I’ve been eating Greek food for over 40 years now, and this place was the worst I ever had. My souvlaki was not tender, was mostly flavorless, and dry. The gyros was just well. nasty. I mean you buy the meat pre-made how can you mess this up except buying poor quality. I’m sorry but this is a small town, a college town at that and frankly the people probably just don’t know better. This is the best Greek place in town because its the only Greek place in town, it’s also pricey and everything you normally get included is extra. $ 20 for me for some feta fries, a gyro, and one souvlaki stick in po-dunk kirksville MO. I’m sure I paid less for more in Chicago! I have had better Greek food off a vendor truck at the state fair in Wisconsin — seriously. I was REALLY hoping this place would be good, as there is only a hand full of «restaurants» in Kirksville. I won’t be back.

This place is the best independent restaurant in this town! I’ve had souvlaki in Greece and the souvlaki here is right up there! I got a platter and loved my dinner! The only issue is the service, not the friendliest family running this place! But don’t let that stop you, the food is so damn delicious!

The little building the Greek Corner is located at seems to be bad luck because businesses go in and then go out after a couple years or even sooner. This is one place I hope is going to stay for a long time especially since there’s nothing really good to eat in K-ville. As for the food, it’s delicious. My family and I like getting the chicken gyros and they are nice and flavorful, and the service is always friendly.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Authentic Chicago-Style Greek food. Giant portions, lots of choices, fantastic. Wish there was more seating.

I love this place. I always tell people that it’s the only really good place to eat in Kville. Well, I usually throw Nurachi in there too. They give huge hunks of feta with the salads, the fries are amazing even though they’re just crinkle fries but they have this great seasoning, and the tzatziki is delicious. I used to order pints of it to put on everything at home. Love everyone who works here — it’s a small family shop and everyone is incredibly friendly. They’re originally from Chicago and the owner makes regular trips up to Chicago to buy food. They’re also crazy about changing out their oil so everything is fresh(ly fried that is). Don’t be a jerk when you’re trashed and coming home from DuKum! I credit Greek Corner for at least 20 lbs of the lbs I gained while living in Kirksville… I guess that might be a negative but I’m reviewing based on the food.

We had the Gyro Basket(Gyro, fries, and drink). The food was cooked fresh when we ordered it. We probably should have split the meal. There was so much food – they really pile on the meat! This seems like a family-run place and a nice change of pace from typical fast food. We ate outside since it was a nice day. I love to eat outside so I take advantage of that any time it is offered at a restaurant. My suggestion: Split the basket with a friend(maybe just order an additional order of French fries). Opa!

Absolutely LOVE this place. Every time I’m back in the ‘Ville, I’ll swing by for some souvlaki. The owners and staff are so welcoming and accomodating. It’s so nice to see a restaurant in Kirksville that is something other than American or Mexican cuisine! Keep The Greek Corner Gyros in business, people!

Love this place… unique food(for Kirksville) that’s tasty and priced decently(a little higher than I would expect but manageable on student loans). They have an extensive menu(my favorite is the chicken gyro with a greek side salad… VERY tasty and the sauce is wonderful!) and baklava for desert! They even have burgers and hotdogs for the not-so-greek-lover in the group! They’re open late on the weekends and play soccer during soccer season :). Very friendly staff, healthy portions, and a very nice outside patio with shade(People bring their pups with them all the time). A true gem of Kirksville.

Loved it! We were in town for work and stopped there for lunch. The food is so good, and the people who work there are very nice and welcoming. It’s just a little bitty place, but has a nice little covered patio area. Will definitely go back next time I am in Kville!

Split a large Greek salad and a souvlaki plate(2 sticks, pita, and tsaziki). The salad was fine, and the souvlaki plate was definitely above average, especially the pita. The owners are from Greece and very friendly people. Location is right in downtown kirksville with a little parking lot.

It’s been a bit of time since I’ve eaten here, so this review may be a bit out of date if there have been changes. There are three reasons to love this place(and they’re strong enough that I’d take the time to write this to you): This place adds precious variety and authenticity to the local food scene. The food is straight up good. The gyros are the standout: if you’ve never had one before, do yourself a favor and give it a shot. The hours. They understand that there is, in fact, life in Kirksville after 9pm. Staying open late on the weekends was a very, very smart move on their part. I hope it pays off, because having the option to get Greek food at all hours of the night makes Kirksville a more fun place to live. Admit it: you may not have gotten a gyro at two in the morning, but you like knowing that you can. 5 stars for delicious food, friendly staff, and moderately cheap prices.

I was surprised at how good the food was here. It isn’t the best Greek I’ve had, but it’s pretty tasty and the price is good for what you get. The gyros come with a TON of meat. The tzatziki sauce could use a little more flavor, but overall it’s quite good.

Boy, I’ve been waiting a long time to review this place. Not because I haven’t been eating there(the food is definitely the most authentic Greek you’ll get in at least a 200 mile radius around Kirksville) but because I’ve been waiting for this place to get fully established as a Kirksville eatery(the building it is located has changed owners/restaurants three times in the last four years). The Greek Corner offers the standards: lamb/beef gyros, souvlaki, baklava, spanokopita, etc., but they also have American food: hotdogs, hamburgers, fries. Most everything is cooked to order and most of the items I’ve tried have been really good. I would definitely recommend a gyro; they are PILEDHIGH with meat and toppings and their seasonings are spot on delicious. The spanokopita is somehow both dry and soggy(the filling is dry while the filo is soggy) and tasteless. Staff is usually very friendly. The family that owns the place are always there and they work very hard. Seating indoors is often very limited, but they’ve opened the patio up in the last few months. Additionally, they’ve started catering towards the bar crowd and stay open until 2am on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, window ordering only. Now, let’s get down to prices. When Greek Corner first opened, they had rock bottom prices for food. I remember going in and ordering a gyro that came with fries all for $ 4.95. The prices were very consistent but then I wasn’t able to visit them for about 4 months. When I came back to them this summer, a gyro now costs somewhere in the $ 5.75s and it no longer comes with fries. That isn’t to say that I wouldn’t pay that much for a meal there. Also, their gyros are very large and I probably don’t need the fries. The food is almost always exceptional. But a price increase that drastic, that fast is a little outrageous. 3 stars for delicious food, friendly staff, and moderately cheap prices.
