The Radio Shack empire has been experiencing some pain recently, and they’ve decided to share it with you and me. To accomplish this they’ve divided the store into two halves: Cell Phones and Everything Else. In my local Radio Shack they literally have divided up a 20×40 room into two 20×20 mini-kingdoms. When I came in today the Cell Phone guy was there but the Everything Else guy was on his lunch break. Bad news for customers like me because Cell Phone guy isn’t authorized to sell things in the Everything Else end of the room, and conversely Everything Else guy isn’t authorized to sell things in the Cell Phone end of the room. If either one of these guys is on his lunch break and you want something from his kingdom, you will need to wait upon their return. Cell Phone guy was nice enough and explained that Corporate«doesn’t have enough hours» to man both sides of the store for a full eight hour shift. So, since Everything Else guy took off for lunch about ten minutes earlier, I would need to wait up to 20 minutes for him to come back so I could buy some over-priced Radio Shack headphone splitters. The price with tax was $ 9.84. I found what appears to be the same item on eBay for $.74, including shipping, or I could get a much nicer one for two bucks. I predict more pain for the Radio Shack empire in the coming days, based on their decision to eschew cross-training, efficiency and customer service.

This place has the most unprofessional employees ever! I pulled into the parking lot and a guy was out puffing on his vape. He seen me and my son get out of that vehicle, then my son and I had to walk through stinky vape and we both have breathing issues and the guy was not following the law about being so many feet from the door. Then after shopping for a half hour I see him and he starts ranting in a loud voice, «I am going to have who ever is towed in the handicap spot» I don’t know what his issues are but he does not and should not be working with the public. I tell him it is mine, which he seen me get out of it, and he is all about telling me I am going to get towed. I had a handicap place card in the window and was within my full legal right. So he walks out all huffy over to my truck and starts to touch my vehicle so I hit the panic button. Where I come from we don’t touch other people’s vehicles especially when they are worth more than you make in a year. So this is how disabled people are treated by thier staff. Better to skip this place and go anywhere else where you will not be harassed for having limitations.

I went in for the Netflix deal, the man manning the counter was disinterested and downright rude. I asked them if they could text me incase the original person does not come to pick the blocked phones, he proceeded to tell me there is no facility to text anyone. I asked them if they didnt have a phone, the man on the counter proceeded to mock me by pressing random keys on the phone. Totally useless person, I would have given him a piece of my mind there, but proceeded to leave the store thanking them for their time. There was also a lady at the store who seemed much more polite. But all in all, would never visit this store again. If the business reads this, I went on 23rd Feb 2014 at 3pm to the store.

If I could give it a negative score I would. The speaker blew in my visor mounted jabra and I wanted to replace it. It only cost $ 3.99 but I wanted to verify the one they had would fit. The assistant manager acted as though she was inconvenienced by asking for the speaker in the first place then told me they didn’t have a new lets screw driver so I could see if it was the right size. She was at the counter ringing it up before I was through shopping and guess what… An entire jewelers kit sitting open, on display next to the cash wrap. I’m pretty certain people aren’t beating down the door at radio shack since it seems I’m always the only person in there. Maybe a little customer service training would help.

It’s a Radio Shack! They did have the stereo mini audio cable I needed and of course tried to sell me everything else in the store. When I asked them about a digital cable for an older computer, the manager drew a blank — I had to show him what I was asking about — I was checking to see if they had one for a future application. Maybe he will remember what and where they are if I come back.

Nice and clean inside. Good customer service and the prices were relatively fair.
