Promesse

Like the clothes but was very disappointed by their return/​exchange policy. I was sent away with an untouched pair of shoes because it was past the very short 14-​day window. I really didn’t think it would be an issue as they were still saleable. Funnily, the employee (owner?) told me, «I could have sold these many times over» when she was explaining why an exchange wasn’t possible. For a small shop, I think flexibility works better than rigid adherence to policy. I won’t be back. There are lots of shops from which to choose.

I absolutely love shopping at Promesse. My busy work schedule prevents me from heading to this boutique as often as I’d like, however when I can get in I am always warmly greeted by the proprietor, Francine Park. She has an excellent eye for fashion and style, and will work with you to make sure you leave thrilled with your purchases. Whenever possible, try to head to the store when the proprietor is working– she has great taste! I noticed that other comments mentioned that the jeans collection is ‘limited’ but I’d say that Promesse carries a select variety of jeans that are very flattering — especially for women no longer in their teens! When it comes to color, quality, cut and style, there is a pair (or in my case always at least two pairs at a time) that you’ll fall for every time. Also, the tops are a bit pricey, but the finds are quite unique and flattering. Overall, it’s a pricey boutique and for this reason it’s getting four stars instead of five, but it’s a great shop to for the discerning ‘eastside’ customer that likes downtown shopping.

Great boutique. The owner is wonderful and is an absolute dream when it comes to putting outfits together. I love the fact that what I buy at Promesse will not be seen on every other woman walking down the street. Also — Baby Stuff!!! It’s gorgeous! You will pay for the top quality, but it’s worth every penny.

I got a magnificent jacket from Promesse. It’s fitted just the way I wanted. Just wouldn’t leave home without it. Prices are reasonable compare to some high end stores in NY.
I’m so excited that they have a baby line also. They are just way too cute! I can now have a stylish baby :)
Girls if you want the style and look, this is where you go. Doesn’t hurt to check it out.

Denim — 2 stars. Average selection.
Tops — 2 stars. Not a lot of staples. Too trendy
Jackets and coats — 4 stars. Labels from designers outside the US, nice change of pace from others I’ve seen in boutiques.
Accessories — waaaay overpriced. for that much money treat yourself to a burger (food over fashion any day of the week) instead and call it a day.
Best boutique I saw on Capital in downtown shopping area. Pricey buy some great finds.

If you wear a petitie, small or extra-​small, this might be the store for you. If you wear a medium or large you will not find anything in your size and the staff will treat you like you are crazy for asking if they have a larger size.
Wear a medium, sometimes a large and I left feeling like a Hefalump thanks to the not so friendly and somewhat condescending staff.
Go to LaRee in Bellevue… similar point of view and price point, WAY nicer staff, and a full range of sizes!

I saw a jacket in the window that I had to have. I drive by this store every day on my way home so I was drooling over my steering wheel for a whole week until I was able to snag a parking spot in front of the store. In I went… prepared to leave up to $ 300 for the jacket. It was a nice jacket. what can I say. Well the dang thing was too small on me. It was a size zero. I’m a 4. Dang nabitt.
The owner of the store was «pleasant».not overly friendly cause once she realized that the $ 295 jacket didn’t fit me she lost interest in me. Oh and now when I drive by. she has some hideous cropped jackets in the window. I no longer feel like I missed out.

Awesome clothes for women. Save your pennies because most things are over $ 100. But, when I factor in the cost-​per-​wear, they are my best investments. You must be a size 2 – 8 for most things since they are slim fitting and ‘oh so hip’. If you hit it at the wrong time, sizes and selection are poor, but often stuff is not unpacked yet and you can get a hint on when the good stuff will be out. Nothing here will be hanging at Nordstrom in 80 colors and sizes so if you want a unique, hip but timeless, quality piece of fashion go to promesse. (it would get 5 stars but I/​2 for expense and ½ for falling in love with something that they don’t have in your size and can’t get in)
