After reading these two reviews I had to throw in my two cents. Dr. Partida had been my OB-GYN for approximately 15 years. She delivered my son, who is almost 18 years old, and then I stay with her each subsequent year until it became difficult for me to get to her, so I had to change providers. Dr. Partida is a forthright, but kind. Compassionate but ready to care for your needs. Here is antidote – she saved me from having a hysterectomy. In my late 30s to early 40s I was having persistent yeast infections. I had become immune to antibiotics. I was not well – «downtrodden» was the term she used. Medically, my body was compromised. Dr. Partida suggested acupuncture. Can you imagine a Western trained OB-GYN suggesting an Eastern approach. I was up for anything. I went and I got better. I have not had a yeast infection since. Currently I am 5o years old. I have thanked her numerous times over the years. I appreciated her courage to take herself out of the equation and put my best interest at heart. Dr. Partida will tell you things in a direct way, but isn’t that what you want in a doctor — honesty. I find it hard to condemn her for her waiting room being busy. The practice I saw her in had 4 other doctors besides her – 5 doctors total. There was a lot of comings and goings. Sometimes waiting is a must in an OB-GYN clinic. They deliver a lot of babies. Patience on your end helps. You as the patient needs to decide do I want a serene environment or do I want a doctor that is smart and knows their stuff. I have always voted for the latter. When I look for a good doctor I am looking to hire their knowledge and expertise. Not a friend. Not someone to lunch with or go on vacay with – I want a doctor who if I am in an emergency has the knowledge and where with all to know what to do. I can tell you for certain that is Dr. Kathy Partida. Go give her a try. If you find that she isn’t meeting your needs tell her. She can handle it. She’s been practicing for over 20 years.

I went through 2 pregnancies with Dr. Partida and couldn’t have been happier. Yes the office was busy, but it makes sense when you realize there are 5 ob/gyns working out of the same office. Sometimes I had to wait for my appointment but I was understanding because you never know when another patient has gone into labor and that requires immediate attention from Dr. Partida. Remember that you will one day be the one in labor needing to see her right away, would you really want to have to wait while she finishes another appointment that could easily wait? If you want a doctor that tells you like it is, but in the nicest way possible, Dr. Partida is the ob/gyn for you. Some people prefer to have things sugarcoated and you will not find that here. Yes pregnancy is a wonderful and exciting time but there are also complications that can arise and it does no good to ignore them. With Dr. Partida you will get a realistic look at pregnancy. You will appreciate this if something less than ideal does arise and you are prepared for it. I loved having her as my doctor throughout both my pregnancies, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great ob/gyn.

I have never written a negative review for a health care provider before, but believe my experience warrants mention. I was happily pregnant with my first child at the age of 36 and looking for an ob/gyn. I practically ran screaming from this office after my initial visit. The office was overcrowded, chaotic, and the doctor was well over an hour late(with no apologies to boot), and her nurse was inappropriate and judgmental. I must stress that I am a very fair and reasonable person, not at all overly sensitive, and have never been considered high maintenance. There were just so many things wrong with this office I was astounded. The words high risk were used abundantly, worst case scenarios were posited and every possible test in the book was recommended, despite my good health, clean genetics and family history. It was fearmongering at its worst. Pregnancy was viewed from a «what could go wrong» end of the spectrum instead of from a positive, exciting angle. Even my husband was upset and wanted to look elsewhere. Luckily, I found another provider and had a lovely experience elsewhere. Interestingly, I now work for a health care provider(different area of practice) and have a coworker who used Dr. Partida as her ob/gyn, too. When she became pregnant a second time, she returned to Dr. Partida, despite having had a less than stellar experience the first time around. After her initial meeting, she too, went on to find another provider after the terse, judgmental«care» provided.
