Food is good but not impressive; parking has become difficult lately in that area. The problem is the manner of the servers, and this is not new. Some of those young ladies are snotty, short, bored looking and in general behave like they are doing a great service to us just by asking what do we want. They don’t seem to have grasped the idea of American style customer service. Quite some wait time, then our two orders were delivered more than 5 minutes from each other.

Best sushi happy hour around! Go here! Fresh sushi, edamame free with meal, great service. Never had a bad experience.

This place used to be amazing. I called today 15 minutes before they close at 2 o’clock. The lady rudely told me they close in 10 minutes. Which was fine. Then when I asked for a specific item. She said they have type a or type b. I proceeded to tell her I don’t know the difference can you tell me, and she snapped back we have type a or type b! And so I asked again, she finally explained it and then continued to ask me «is that all?» After every item I tried to order. Then when I went in to pick up the food she was just as rude as on the phone. A dollar for a tiny side of spicy mayo!!! I think not. I hope you get fired lady! I will not be back! And it’s unfortunate cause I live right up the road and used to love going there all the time!

We eat here at least every other week. It’s super convenient for us and by this time we’ve developed a usual order that suits us perfectly. We’re not adventurous sushi eaters and we have a 4 year old to please, so I’ll just say that I’m not the most critical sushi reviewer. That said– we consistently love the Mexican roll, spicy anything and most of the veggie options. My daughter loves the Buddha roles– and that basically means that she is raving about eating vegetables. She absolutely devours the edamame– these two last things make the trip worthwhile in my opinion. We also consistently order the mixed tempura or shrimp tempura and soba noodles– partly to round out the kiddo’s meal and also for a ‘next day’ lunch. The staff are always kind and sometimes downright superb. I thought to do a review today because I realized the service is consistently strong. Tonight when we were there the server was very conscientious about pointing out which of our options might not be as popular with our daughter(yeah– not the spicy Mexican roll). He was just so unfailingly kind and thoughtful and that goes so far with me. It’s what keeps us coming back. We have another sushi place we sometimes go to ‘cheat’ on Oto Sushi, but I find we always come back here.

Nice sushi place in Kirkland. My favorite here was Peach Blossom roll. Will keep going back every now and then.

We’ve eaten here a lot and we’ve never really had a bad experience. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Whenever we’ve eaten in, the service has been friendly. Sometimes it can be a little bit slow, but it’s not bad. We tend to get takeout since we live close by and the food has always been hot and still appetizing by the time we get it home. Sometimes they forget to put little things in the takeout bag like dipping sauce for tempura — check your bags before you go if you’re a sauce queen like me! Usually, it’s just two of us dining there, but last year we had about 12 people to feed after PAX. We called about 2hrs ahead and they prepared a large table for us. It was great and everyone loved their food, even our sushi connoisseur who would probably eat sushi for every single meal if he could.

I warn you people. Do not eat here. You will get potential food poison and might die. I witnessed multiple occasions where server will touch your sushi rolls and nigiri if it falls from how it is supposed to be presented. Also, I witnessed many times that sushi chefs would not wash their hand after going for a smoke or going to the bathroom. The owner works there at the sushi bar, yet he ignores all this unethical, dirty way of handling food, especially a freaking raw fish. I did not even wanted to touch my food, so I paid and left. Never ever coming back. I warn you again. Do not eat here.

HORRIBLE customer service. Called in for a take out order at 6pm. Was told to hold on and when he came back to take my order, I placed my order. Decided I wanted to add one more item so I simply said«hold on a sec,» he replied, «actually we’re really busy right now.» At that point, I told him I was calling for takeout elsewhere. I was on hold longer than he was even taking my order. Ridiculous. Izumi is the place if you want exceptional sushi and a great experience whether dining in or take-out.

Just moved from California, my expectations are quite high. This place had very attentive staff, very clean and great specials. The sashimi was my favorite, you could really taste how fresh it was. I’m used to a larger variety of specialty rolls. This place is good though, I will be back!

My husband and I went here for lunch last week. He got several philly rolls(lol right?) and a crunchy roll. I got the tempura udon and shared the Five Alarm roll. He was very pleased with his rolls. I thought the option of smoked salmon or fresh salmon was cool, I don’t think I’ve ever heard that asked at a sushi joint before. The Five Alarm roll was AWESOME. It had tempura shrimp, jalapeño, and albacore and then was topped with spicy tuna. Yum Yum. My Udon was fine. I probably wouldn’t get it again and it was nothing to write home about. I was very impressed that we ate as much as we did and they had a happy hour lunch prices. We each had drink(my tea was wonderful and he just had a soda), a total of 5 rolls, udon, and got out of there for $ 50 including tax and tip. That’s pretty solid if you ask me!

This spot is the bomb!!! I eat at all the sushi restaurants around town and this has to be my favorite. They get fresh fish in every day or 2, they are usually busy so they never have old fish for sale. I like that they don’t have overly large pieces of fish for their nigiri sushi. I eat here atleast 3 times a week good prices and their happy hour you can’t beat.

1) They can’t get an order right. Ordered a Philly roll and noticed there was no cream cheese. Then saw receipt and it said Alaska roll. They don’t even sound the same. 2) The rolls are so tiny… Paid $ 19 for two rolls. Such a rip off. Then when I got them I asked for spicy mayo and eel sauce and they charged me extra for that. Other restaurants all over the country(and of much better quality) don’t charge. That’s like a burger joint charging for ketchup. Very disappointing.

They’ve gone downhill since their initial opening. They use to greet you with a friendly welcome and now they just always seem rushed and frazzled. Also, I don’t mind waiting for my order to go but don’t tell me it’s going to be 15 minute and then take 30+. The quality is still good but it does’t impress me or anything.

Dang, some of you guys make me question if I really know my stuff w/sushi… Anyways, I’ll stand with my 4 stars for my first visit. I’ll update if that ever changes, but for now my first time here was good. Service wasn’t necessarily fantastic but not disappointing, like some Unilocalers have wrote. I was craving salmon so I ordered the salmon dinner(Sake Sashimi-3pcs, Nigiri-5pcs(1-Salmon, 1-Garlic Salmon, 1-Norway Pepper Salmon, 1– San Diego Salmon, OMG Salmon); Alaska Roll or Spicy Salmon Roll. Online it says its $ 27 but I’m pretty sure it was $ 25. I enjoyed it very much. My boyfriend got the bootylicious roll(haha!), Philadelphia Roll and Salmon Skin Roll. All three were really good but the special roll(bootylicious) wasn’t too memorable. Great thing is that they are open everyday. I was craving sushi on Monday and realized most sushi places around me were closed but I found this place on Unilocal & it said it was open.

I would love to give this place a five but there’s service can be so hit and miss sometimes. When it’s great it’s amazing and makes me wanna come back. But on the flip side, when it’s bad service I don’t want to ever come back. The food never fails to please. My fave is the soft shell crab roll or the five alarm roll. I don’t like spicy but this roll is that good. Everything is just great, fresh sushi that I can’t get enough of. I will come back and enjoy but always have it in the back of my head«How’s the service going to be?» will be there until it doesn’t happen often.

Can you guess how much I paid for what you see in this picture(plus 3 unpictured miso soups). 84 bucks. Plus a hefty tip before getting home and realizing that the order was so tiny. I can’t say I’m impressed. That’s just a lot of money for such a small portioned order! The Hawaiian roll was good but not worth $ 15, the rainbow rolls tasted too much like crab(and I love crab!!). Small portions, cold n flavorless edamame, and really expensive :( However, the phone order was painless, Jeremy was thorough and professional which I appreciated(especially after a failed phone order experience with another sushi restaurant).

I’ve been here a few times at lunch and pretty much conclude I have mixed feelings. Overall, the sushi is just alright(a little mushy, a little fishy, some of it flavorless… nothing too terrible but also nothing to write home about), but the prices are great so that’s what keeps(*ahem* kept) us coming back. During the week, I roll deep with a bunch of people from work and the service has also been pretty meh… Inconsistent, but consistent in its forgetfulness and also spotty attention to detail(lack of soy sauce dishes, sometimes bringing enough undercooked edamame for the table and sometimes not, sometimes forgetting who ordered tea and miso and salad… and sometimes not. It’s 50⁄50). Also, rather unfortunately, today I dipped a bunch of my sushi in soy sauce that tasted like soap or perfume. It took me a while to realize it was probably the dish and not the soy sauce or the sushi… It was a rather sad process of elimination that lead me to these conclusions, but I finally figured it out. Hooray? The last straw for my little group was that after eating here today, a girl I work with has major diarrhea– and I am pretty sure it’s not the kind you get from eating too much foie gras. They say it takes two people to lie: one to tell the lie and the other to believe it. I definitely believe this place deserves 3 stars.

We’ve been to Oto Sushi a few times but this experience was a bit disappointing. We got takeout and it took them 30 minutes to make three rolls. Okay, it’s the weekend and I understand they’re pretty busy and everything, but really? Four tables of people who came in and ordered after us got their food before we got ours. The rolls were quite tasty though. The Panko Crusted Ahi roll was really fun to eat, with lots of interesting textures(it has salad on the inside!). I love tamago, and their omelet texture was nice and soft without being all blobby, so it held its shape well within the rolls. The firestarter roll was ok but I think the combination of fatty tuna and avocado made it a little less exciting for texture. Normally when we dine in the experience and service is better and would warrant 4 stars at least, so I’m surprised at how inattentive the takeout was. I guess the moral of the story is that we should dine in, but with new sushi restaurants opening up in Kirkland in a few months I think I’ve got other places to explore first.
