Leafling Preschool and Childcare Center

Our son has been at Leafling Preschool in Kirkland for almost a year now, and we have had an incredible experience. He absolutely blossomed when he first started there, and he continues to thrive. Leafling emphasizes learning through creative play, doing art projects, singing songs, cooking and playing outside daily. Most notably, the teachers foster an atmosphere of kindness, politeness and comradery between all of the kids. Our son brings his lessons home to us, saying things such as «No thank you» when he’s frustrated, and «Clean up» when it’s time to switch activities, and «Can I help you?» often. Shay and her team of teachers focus on the long-​term values that the children need and fostering friendship between the kids. We love Leafling and we recommend it very highly!

Shayesta, the owner, works very hard to ensure your child is loved, nurtured and busy! Both my daughters grew up with Shayesta at Open Arms in Shoreline and loved their experience. The environment was safe, friendly, and they put on a Christmas show every year for the parents. As a working parent, I was comforted to know my children were in good hands. My youngest is no longer with Shayesta, but today she wrote her a letter because she missed her.

I am absolutely in love with Leafling! In fact, we loved the staff, philosophy, and methods utilized by the teachers, we followed them when they moved from Open Arms in Shoreline to Leafling in Kirkland! My three year old son absolutely flourishes here, and comes home ranting of all the fun things they do on a daily basis. One day he told me about using a magnifying glass to ‘investigate’ bugs. Another, making a butterfly painting by folding painted paper in half. For days he talked about the chart they kept of all of the different machines they saw outside from the playground. The children get a lot of outside play time, which is so important. The teachers are extremely open, and it feels more like family then a childcare facility. I would, and do, recommend Leafling to anyone who will listen! :)

while I don’t have direct experience with Leafling, my daughter attended the owner’s Shayesteh Davanlou) other preschool for three years starting at age 15 months and we had a wonderful experience there. Shayesteh creates a nurturing, loving and welcoming environment for all children. She communicates openly with parents and I always knew my child was being well cared for and safe there. I would not hesitate to recommend Leafling for your children!
