La Petite Academy

My son has been in daycare since he was 2 months old. He currently goes to LaPetite. Unfortunately this is the worst experience I have had as a mother. It has gotten to the point where he asks to go to a new school… which will happen shortly. Not long after he started, he come home with his name on the hood of his coat. in a sharpie! The teacher did this. Then he was constantly having potty accidents. He was potty trained until he started here. He told me his teacher wouldn’t listen to him when he had to go potty (the same teacher that wrote on his coat). He was moved to another class where the teacher threw all of his clothes out because he had an accident. It was just pee, it should have been put in a bag to go home. not the garbage. Again, he WAS potty trained until he started here. The turn over in teachers is absolutely ridiculous! He is on his fourth one in this class. Honestly I can see why they don’t want to stay. The place is ran so poorly. it’s a joke. The director that has been there for a few months had yet to tell me her name. I only know it from the teachers. so needless to say she never introduced herself. I would highly discourage any parent from enrolling their kids here. There is zero structure and consistency.

My daughter has been here for almost 6 months, and I have been so happy. Colleen is the director and since day one was very helpful in helping get my daughter enrolled and answering any questions I had. If there is anything that happens to my daughter and incident report is filled out and I am actually notified when I pick her up (unlike her previous daycare). The teachers really care about all the children and I’ve never walked in on it being total chaos like some horror stories I’ve heard of daycares. One of the things that always stands out is how friendly every staff member is. They ask about my classes, we have great conversations and they are all genuine caring people. My daughters speech has improved, as well as her social skills since beginning to attend la petite. I always have a little bin filled with drawings or crafts they did which never really happened at her previous daycare. I am really grateful for how much the staff cares about their kids and it shows with how happy my daughter is everyday and how excited she gets to go to «school» !

I’m extremely happy to write this review. I had my son enrolled here and within the first week he reviewed several terrible bite marks all over his body from other kids. For $ 350 a week I really expected the money to go to trained professionals that would care for my sons safety and well being.
The second week he was bitten 5 times in ONE day by the same kid. When I approached La Petites director Matty Ryder on-​site about this matter she did nothing. She had known the kid had problems there but kept that violent child in the same class as mine.
She went on to say that she had started the process of removing the kid from the academy for behavioral issues but still failed to care or recognize the trauma my son went through.
Please think twice before leaving your little loved ones in the hands of this TERRIBLE establishment.

I’ve had my 2 year old there since Jan and I’ve been really happy. This is her first time in «daycare» and she’s adjusted really well. She’s happy when I drop her off and pick her up and she really likes all the teachers. The downside, and it’s a pretty big one, is the turnover of the teachers. In the last 3.5 months her two main teachers have left, which makes me sad because my daughter grew really attached to them.
I probably call once a day to check on her and the director and asst director are really great and never have an issue checking and letting me know how she’s doing.
To be fair, a couple other downsides, they dont turn off the lights at nap time and the rooms are fairly open so it’s pretty loud. I think the kids sleep okay but i’m sure they’d sleep longer and better if it was quiet and dark. Kids keep their shoes on all day, even at nap, which i’m not sure is common at daycare. I understand not turning off the lights is a la petite rule and not specific to the locations.
I’ll end by saying all in all i’ve been really happy and my daughter is happy. She has a ton of new friends and plays all day. Lots of artwork, circle time and play outside. If you can get a good teacher then i’d reccomend this location :)

I was very disappointe in Kirkland La Petite, not to mention, my son hated going there. Everytime I would drop off or pick him up it was chaos and there was no structure for the kids. The older boys were always just wrestling or fighting. I would have expected more given their reputation. I would not recommend them to ANYONE. We have since switched and couldn’t be happier with that decision.
