Jay’s Kirkland Autocare

My son’s 2002 Ford started acting up. I drive by this place all the time, read some good reviews, so I thought I would send my business their way. Called them and discussed the issues and Jay pretty much nailed it on what was wrong and what it would take to fix the car. Dropped it off the night before the service. Next day before noon they called and told me what it would take to fix the car. They also recommended a couple of other things the car needed to keep it in good shape. Never did I feel pressured or feel like I was getting scammed.
He also mentioned some other things on the car, but said it didn’t need to be addressed at this time, just some things to watch.
Picked up the car, the bill came out less than the estimate. Nice. Very nice people, shop is clean.
I see why they have been in business for so long.

Always call you back when they say they will and totally stand behind their work. I’ve recently had some follow up problems and they’ve checked and solved those under their warranty with no problems even when I tried to pay them for something I didn’t feel was their fault.

Best mechanic shop I have ever been to. Informative, friendly staff. Very reasonably priced. Will never take my car anywhere else.

Jay’s Kirkland Autocare was recommended by a friend. She’s taken her Chevy van here for 15 years and it has 150K miles on it.
I needed to have my 2008 Honda Fit serviced. The battery died in March due to issues I was having starting it up and I was told by another autoshop I needed an engine valve adjustment and tune up.
I called to make an appointment — relayed the info from the previous shop and asked if they had time to take a look. I was told «yes, they could take a look» and that they are busier than they have ever been right now. So I made an appointment for the following week.
I dropped off my car Tuesday morning. Reiterated the issues I was having and left my keys. I got a call less than 2 hours later with the results of their diagnostics — they could not replicate my cold start issues since my car was warm. They asked if they could keep it overnight — and told me it was most likely maintenance work I needed. Said they would order the parts needed to service it — so if it was just needing maintenance they would be prepared to do the work first thing next day. I allowed them to keep it overnight.
Received a call at 1PM the next day. My car was ready to go. Even though it only needed the previously discussed maintenance — Andy walked me through exactly what they did, in what order to get my car up and running.
I was at Urgent Care with my Fiancée when I received the call. I told Andy I would do my best to get there EOB. Andy said it was no problem to keep the car overnight if need be and wished my Fiancée the best of luck with her injury. This was a very thoughtful touch which left a big impression on me.
I was not able to make it in that day to pick up my car. I let them know, and paid for the work over the phone. When I picked up my keys the next morning — Andy asked how my fiancée was doing — which again left a huge impression on me.
My car now runs better than it ever has — the work was done right, for a reasonable cost in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend Jay’s Autocare — as long as I live in the area — my fiancée and I will only bring our cars here.

My check engine light came on and after shop around I decided to take my car to Jay’s. Andy was being very helpful explaining what the problem was, and I was able to get my car back in the same day. I liked how honest they are, suggested I should have my timing belt replaced. I didn’t even know what timing belt is… Price is very reasonable and check engine light weren’t on anymore. It is my first car and my second time dealing with car problem, repair can be very costly but for safety reason especially for a girl like me that doesn’t know anything about car. my point is, finding a honest shop is very important.
I hope I will never have to come back here, but if I do, this place will be on my list.

Jay has been servicing my cars for years. They are better than all other repair shops that I have used, are very reasonable, personable and they keep you updated to their progress every time. Truly a top notch shop that deserves all 5 stars. Keep up the great work Jay!

I have been using Jays Auto for 20 years, my wife had her engine blow and we had it towed here, they looked at it and said I wouldn’t repair it, they did not even charge to look at it. Pretty awesome.
They are the most honest car shop I have every been in, I never leave feeling like they wanted to make an extra buck. I always recommend this place and they are always busy.

Jay’s is really close to my office and I can’t believe I waited so long to try them out, even if it was just for an oil change. Very professional on phone when I called to schedule my appointment. The shop and front office are very clean and look efficient. They are friendly, seem very knowledgeable, and made maintenance recommendations. Plus, AAA discount and they’re AAA certified. I will definitely be back.

Jay’s is the kind of place I’d feel comfortable having my 75 y.o. mother go to for her automobile care. That’s the greatest compliment I can give to Jay’s Kirkland Autocare.
I had my first experience here because of all the 5-​star Unilocal reviews. I was concerned since the last review was two years ago but I had to trust the AAA. I had to get my 60K service done on my Subaru Forester. First I called the dealer to get a quote, knowing they were going to be higher. Then I called Jay’s to see what they would quote me. My first contact was with Andy on Wednesday afternoon. He was polite, informative, and gave me all the details I wanted to know. He also let me know they had an opening the following day (Thursday) or Friday morning. Friday morning worked out better for my schedule. My second contact with them was on Friday at 8 a.m. when I dropped off the car and Scott helped me. I was impressed with both Andy and Scott over the phone and in person. My third contact was when Scott called me at 12:45 p.m. with more information about what my car needed and also a quote. I let him know he could go ahead with the work and he called me around 4 p.m. saying they were finished and I could come pick it up. I really appreciate local businesses like this that are top-​notch and it’s good to know I can trust them to do what they say they’re going to do. That’s rare, in my experience, particularly in Auto care. My total price was $ 900, which was cheaper than the Subaru dealer. I’m grateful for their excellent work and customer service. I’ll definitely be back.

I love taking my car to this place.
Besides the great work on my car, they are friendly and always explain what my car needs. They are also great at pointing out what stuff isn’t needed immediately and what is — I never feel like they are out for my money.
They take great care of my (oh gosh, almost 20 year old) car and I’m still able to take it out on long road trips halfway across the country and back.
My parents come to Jay’s as well. And it’s rare that you have to wait for an appointment.

I can’t believe I’ve never Unilocaled Jay’s. These guys are solid. Always meet their commitments. No issues with them working on my S2000, CR-​V or Prius over the past 4 years or so.
On my first visit they recommended a new battery and I thought ‘whatever, trying to make a buck’ so I passed. It died 2 weeks later. Now I mostly go with what they advise.
They can be hard to get in last-​minute, the book up perhaps 2 – 3 days in advance. It’s pretty close to downtown Kirkland, so I throw my bicycle in back and the pedal the last bit to work.

I am relatively new to the Kirkland area, and finding a mechanic you can trust causes me a ton of stress. I bought an old Bronco (86) for my son for work and school — needless to say it needed work, but I didn’t want to spend more than it was worth… The folks at Jay’s have taken great care of me… good work for a fair price, they always contact me prior to repairs, all the things an above board mechanic does… If you need car care, on any make or model, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

If you’re looking for a trustworthy mechanic (who isn’t?), Jay’s Auto will take care of you. They’ve been in Kirkland forever, and the community feel to their shop comes through in all aspects of their business. Reasonable prices, upfront information, and friendly people is what you’ll get when you roll into their driveway. Not to mention a fixed car. I say this not as someone whose known the family who owns it since childhood, or because my brother worked there sweeping up the shop as his first job… but because of the countless times I’ve gone in because my headlight was out or my oil was low, and they’ve fixed it quickly, oftentimes with a shrug and a «don’t worry about it, it’s on us» when it comes time to pay. That’s service, and that’s why I’ll keep going back. You should too.

WONDERFUL! I just went here randomly, because my car was leaking oil all over the place. It was a totally silly issue, I recently had an oil change somewhere else, and they didn’t screw on the cap tight enough.
Jay’s looked at the problem on the spot, cleaned up my car, checked the oil level — and then didn’t even charge me for their time! Bonus — they didn’t make me feel like a total jackass (which I was) for not figurig out the problem on my own. I will absolutely be visiting Jay’s for all my future auto repair and maintenance needs. Awesome place — super friendly.

Jay’s is absolutely great. They’ll give you an honest assessment and save big $$ over the dealership. My car was making a bad sound. Turned out it was very low on steering fluid. They said the part was ridiculously expensive and it looked like a very slow leak so they would top it off and show me how to watch it and opt to put off repair for now. Another time they replaced my timing chain. Saved hundreds over what the dealership wanted to charge. Really nice, nice guys and a clean shop.
